Mijn man heeft de baan in Stuttgart gekregen! YAY! Ergens maart verhuizen we.... Het is zo fijn dat we dichterbij komen wonen voor een paar jaar! Helemaal nu het even niet zo goed met mijn moeder helaas. Ze heeft een hersenbloeding gehad eind November en ik ben de hele maand December in NL geweest om aan haar zijde te zijn.

J&K - Ja hier alles prima hoor. Wat fijn dat je nu lekker bij je aanstaande in de states bent! Wij krijgen eind volgende week te horen of we misschien een paar jaar naar Duitsland gaan. Mijn man heeft gesolliciteerd in Stuttgart. dan kan ik weer even een paar jaar dichter bij mijn familie zijn Fingers X-ed!

Het is hier een beetje stil, maar wie weet kunnen we nog verder kletsen? Ik ben nog maar 21 jaar en ga hopelijk begin volgend jaar met mijn visa op het vliegtuig stappen. We gaan in Austin, Texas wonen. Kunnen jullie mij misschien wat vertellen over jullie verzekering, en wat dat inhoud? Mijn verloofde is freelance fotograaf en heeft momenteel geen verzekering, voor zover ik weet. En hoe is jullie proces gegaan, na AOS 2?

Wat leuk dat jullie al zo in de toekomst denken over eventueel zwanger raken. Wij hadden er helemaal niet over nagedacht. Nu moet ik zeggen dat dat ook kwam omdat mij in 2001 door de gyn was verteld dat ik nooit zwanger zou raken... Ik had toen 2 jaar van vruchtbaarheids behandelingen achter de rug. Dus toen ik mijn huidige man leerde kennen heb ik hem duidelijk gemaakt dat hij nooit moest verwachten dat ik hem een kindje kon geven. Nou wij wisten niet wat ons overkwam toen ik in July 2008 spontaan zwanger was en 2 Maart 2009 onze oudste zoon geboren werd! God had duidelijk andere plannen voor ons En 2010 is onze jongste geboren. Maar hij is helaas overleden voor hij geboren werd omdat hij zijn navelstreng om zijn nekje had zitten. Dus de wonderen zijn de wereld nog niet uit!

Wat betreft die verkiezingen. Ik heb voor de gein de stemwijzer gedaan en daar kwam SGP uit?! #######?! Ha ha...

Ik heb besloten om niet te stemmen in NL omdat ik ook niet van plan ben om ooit terug te keren. Dus vind het zinloos en onterrecht als ik wel zou stemmen.

Bij onze strand ceremonie hadden we geen getuigen. Bij het trouwen voor de wet hadden we een vriend van mijn man en onze makelaar als getuigen. Lekker makkelijk en snel

Ik denk wel dat het mogelijk is om ook getuigen te betrekken bij een ceremonie Je kan alles met de reverend bespreken. De onze was heel fijn en heeft alles precies gedaan zoals wij dat wilden. Ook word idd je meisjesnaam gebruikt als je dat wilt. Ik vond het die dag wel raar om mijn trouwring niet te dragen en hem dan later weer terug om mijn vinger geschoven te krijgen. Voelde me wel kaal! ha ha

Mijn man heeft familie in San Antonio. Ik vind het ook wel een leuke stad en omgeving. Riverwalk en Alamo zijn mijn favorieten.

Wat beterft werken hier. Toen ik hierheen verhuisde was ik nog niet zeker of ik wel meteen weer zou gaan werken of dat ik misschien eerst even op adem zou komen van de cultuurshock... Nadat we getrouwd zijn en ik mijn SSN en GC kreeg ben ik alsnog op zoek gegaan naar werk en binnen 2 maanden heb ik werk aangeboden gekregen. "Probleem" was alleen dat ik zwanger was en dat dat bepaalde werk niet bevorderlijk is voor een zwangerschap. Dus ik heb het afgewezen. We hebben nu besloten dat ik niet werk totdat onze zoon naar school gaat. Dat word dus 2014 hier

Ik denk niet dat het moeilijker is om een baan te vinden als military spouse. Wat ik je wel aanraad is om al je werkervaring zo gedetaileerd mogelijk bij te houden en ook al je diploma's en certificaten bij de hand te houden. Ook kun je in sommige gevallen je nederlandse diploma's om laten zetten als je nog verder wilt studeren hier. Bijv een Masters degree halen. Lonen zijn in elk geval niet bepaald hoog vor een "beginner". Maar als je echt wilt werken is er altijd wel iets te vinden en kun je altijd blijven zoeken terwijl je al iets hebt om je bezig te houden. Als het zover is kan ik je wel wat voorbeelden geven van bedrijven die altijd op zoek zijn. Als ik jou was zou ik eerst even op zijn minst een paar maanden lekker wennen en wat sociale contacten opbouwen voordat je gaat werken. Just my 2 cents

Wij zijn ook vrijwel direct (binnen 1 maand) getrouwd voor de wet en hebben anderhalve maand later pas de strand ceremonie gedaan.

Yep idd ook AF. Hoewel mijn man sinds 30 April "retired AF" is. We zitten hier nog goed in Panama City (Tydall AFB) en hebben nog geen plannen om snel te verhuizen. Misschien als hij ergens een leuke en goed betaalde baan vind. Hij is op dit moment aan het werken aan een sollicitatie in Stuttgart,Duitsland. Wie weet wat de toekomst ons zal brengen. Ik vind het wel lekker zo. Ik ben net terug van een verjaardags pool party bij een van onze buren Mij hoor je niet klagen! ha ha

Gaan jullie in Kansas samenwonen? Een Nederlandse vriendin van me heeft 1 jaar in Emporia, Kansas gewoond vanwege haar man zijn werk. Kansas is zooo anders dan Florida!

Ik ben inderdaad ook onverzekerd geweest tot de dag dat we getrouwd zijn. Het zat me ook helemaal niet lekker maar heb het toch overleefd We zijn van het gemeentehuis naar de basis gegaan en hebben mij direct in DEERS ingeschreven. En van daar naar de TRICARE office om in te schrijven.

Hey Nederlanders! Ik wou eens zien of er nog anderen zijn die lekker gezellig Nederlands willen praten over vanalles en nogwat. Van het hele immigratie proces tot koetjes en kalfjes

Ik woon sinds 2007 in Panama City, FL. Ik heb mijn man leren kennen toen hij in Duitsland gestationeerd was en ik in Brussel op de Amerikaanse ambassade werkte. Ik heb van 2002 tot 2006 in Belgie gewoond en daarna 1 jaar samengewoond in Duitsland. Nu dus al bijna 5 jaar getrouwd en ben sinds vorig jaar ook Amerikaans staatsburger.

Zoals ik al zei wonen wij momenteel in Panama City, FL en hebben momenteel een Tropische storm waarschuwing gaande. Morgen zullen we meer weten. Ik ben allang blij dat de storm niet recht op ons afkomt zoals eerder voorspeld!

We live in Panama City, FL and like your fiance says do not worry at all. We have some hard wind gusts and lots of rain. It is more exciting than scary We finally get some much needed rain to make the grass grow! Only downside is we can't go to the beach right now. Don't worry. He's fine!

Oh I know there is nothing I could do even if I wanted to. And everyone knows I am not responsible for her stupid action. My brother is not blaming me, he just told me what our brother in law (our sister's husband) told him. He (our BIL) was shouting at my brother. Telling him I was the one that drove her to take the pills and alcohol. Everyone knows I am no way near to be blamed. I talked to all my family today and everyone says the same. That she is very sick in her head.

There is no way in hell I will take a plane to be by her bedside. Even if things were different between us I would not have done that because I am not a psychiatrist. She and her husband both warned my brothers that they can never mention my name to them anymore. And if I will try to see or contact them they will kill me. IMO my BIL is sick in his head too. I am not afraid of them. Don't worry. But I am afraid of my sister her health. To me it sounds like she is brainwashed by her husband who is mentally abusing her for years already. And who is mentally ill himself! Poor poor sis

Like the title says. I need to rant for a moment.

Yesterday my brother called to let me know our sister tried to take her own life by overdose and alcohol. She did not succeed. And I am happy about that.

Today my brother called me again to give me a heads up on her situation and told me that she is physically doing better but mentally very ill. She blames ME of all people for her sorry decision. She blames me for running away to another continent to watch her suffer from a distance. In her eyes our parents love me more. Her husband is not helping either and accused me of neglecting her while she is the one that has not been wanting to talk to me in the past 2 years. I have to add to this that it started when I lost our youngest son. my sister just so happened to be visiting the States and drove my way when I told her I lost my baby. The day after she arrived, her husband called and started cussing her out over unimportant things that were going on between them. My sister broke down in tears and told me he had been mentally abusing her for years already. I called him back (keep in mind I had enough SHlT to handle on my own a couple days after losing my youngest child) and asked nicely for him to stay calm and talk things out so she could still enjoy her vacation. He started shouting at me over the phone and told me that he was sorry for my loss but that his business was way more important then me losing my baby. I think every normal person will understand I could not believe what he just said and handed the phone to my sister. After she got of the phone I told her what he had just said to me. She said she understood I was upset and the next morning she left. Never heard from her again, I tried calling, writing, visiting when I went back "home", contacting her daughters to try get in touch again. Nothing worked. And now I am the one that drove her to take her own life... It breaks my heart! But I think it proves how sick she is in her head.

She must attend the interview without him and take the police report with her, and she should tell the Immigration officer that she was battered and she will file the Vawa, he will give her 30 days to file the Vawa. .She must run because the Vermont service is taking almost 25 days to send the Vawa confirmation and she needs that to show to Uscis. SHE should seek help with some organizations for victims of domestic violence and they will be able to help her out. I own a non profit organization who helps victims of domestic violence then please ask her if she wants to contact me.

She lives in Florida. Can she still contact you? If so, do you mind sending me some contact info that I can forward to her? Thanks

To be honest with you I believe she DID overstay her student visa. And I too think that might be a major problem.

I will at least tell her what I read here next time I talk to her. Maybe try to get her to sign up with VJ and reply herself some time...

Long story short. I do not know 100% of the details but would like to help this Rusian girl I know.

She came here on a student visa in 2010 I believe. Fell in love and got married. She got pregnant and had their son last year june 2011.

March of this year they filed for her conditional GC. April he abused her badly. Police reports were filed etc. Her husband is not allowed to get close to her and their son and she is also seriously thinking about divorce. She had biometrics done in May. Next week she has her interview. But because he is not allowed to be close to her, even if he would be allowed to, he is probably not showing up for the interview.

What are her options? I would so like to be able to advice her.
