Done with waiting. Talked to Congressman's aide and sent updated request for assistance; called DOS, e-mailed embassy (at DOS recommendation); called USCIS and e-mailed CSC (at USCIS Tier 2 recommendation). I want answers and I want action!!

Elya, I filed for a K-3 visa (I-130 and I-129F). It had been the normal 5 months of processing time, so I called USCIS to find out what's going on. They sent me an email that says they need 6 months for an extensive background check. I saw your post - how long have they taken for you??? I'm so nervous - my husband is Middle Eastern - we are apart, and I can't take it anymore

I got the same letter, and a few more people here did also. My NOA1 date was Nov. 8 so I am waiting a little over 8 months now without even an RFE. I think I am one of the only people left waiting this long without an RFE but there are several who did already get an RFE who are waiting even longer. I am sorry for your situation :-( waiting sucks :-(
