  1. virginian, how did you make out?

I was able to have my interview. However, I was asked to submit additional documents showing that I am indeed married. I have one month to collect everything and sent it to them.

My case is complicated, I am a resident of Virginia but residing in Texas. So the officer asked me to get a Texas resident ID. Hopefully, everything will be alright.

Thanks to everyone who gave excellent advice. Without you I would not know what to do.

  2. My interview is scheduled tomorrow morning. I noticed when I wanted to program my GPS that I don't know where I put my Notice for the interview :( I looked everywhere, it is possible I throwed it away by mistake when I was cleaning my folders :(

What should I do? I just remember that my interview is scheduled in Dallas (I don't even have the address).

    Please advise...

Will just have to re-schedule ur appointment.

If I go to the interview location without the letter, will I not be admitted?

I would just go to the Dallas District Office first thing in the morning. Tell them you lost the interview notice and they will probably let you in no problem. Just bring your Green Card and other documents. We got in last Friday with no interview letter. They just made us sign a sheet and show identification. The secretary might get on to you for losing the interview letter, but I think they will let the interview go ahead as normal. Just my 2 cents.

According to the USCIS website, the Dallas Field Office is located at:

    6500 East Campus Circle Drive

    Irving, TX 75063.

    Thanks

  3. Interview in the morning or afternoon? If in the afternoon, you might still have time to call 1800 number. Do you check case status online? Hope you remember your case number for them to check. May be they'll be nice enough to help you contact the local district office ahead of your interview time and may be even e-mail you a copy of the appointment letter. I always make copies for the USCIS stuff so even if I lost the original, I'd still have the copy as proof. Notice I said copies, not copy, just in case the copy get lost too or get wet or someone snatch my purse at the mall, and don't put all the eggs in one basket, spread them out. If interview in the morning, get there first thing with all your documents and wait for the staff there to tell you what to do, especially your biometrics letter that has your case number related to your naturalization application. I think as long as the guard is willing to let you in, once you get in there the staff would be able to help you out with no sweat providing that you have the case number and they can check on their system to confirm that you're actually having the interview there on that day. Good Luck!

My interview is in the morning (10 AM) and it takes 3 hours to drive to Dallas Center. So I will be on the road when the customer service will be available.

Thanks a lot for your suggestions.

  4. I either scan or copy important documents from the USCIS, and when I can't find the originals, usually left them in the scanner or the copying machine. Also notorious for putting stuff in the wrong folder, guess you checked all of those. Always got into the USCIS field office with no ID or anything, just say my wife is inside, must have an honest looking face. But that interview notice is just to get you in the door, if not anything else, have the guard call the appointment desk, they should let you in.

Wasn't going to bring in our original documents of all the evidence we sent in because they never looked at it before, this time, wife's IO looked at all of it, so don't forget that either. Good Luck.

I should have just photocopied the original document, but I did not. I had all my documents in a folder, including passport, taxes etc. Somehow, I don't have the interview letter in that folder. I am afraid I might have thrown it away when I was reorganizing my files for the interview :( I rechecked all the compartments of my file holders.

    Go there: https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=of....office_type=LO

Scroll down the page where it says to enter your zip code.

Enter your zip code, it will show you the offices serving this zip code. Hopefully when you see the address you will remember it was the same. Go to your appointment, say you lost the letter, bring your green card they will know you have an appointment. Don't forget your passport and other documents that you need for the interview.

    Mattr.

    Thank you :)

    I will do that.

I cannot remember, but I need to bring besides passport, our marriage certificate and my husband's birth certificate.

    I feel better now

It's a waiting game, and one in which you'll find yourself checking this site, other immigration sites, and the USCIS site five times a day in the hope that . . . well, actually, I don't know what I'm hoping to find. Kinda sad, really, and certainly no good for my career prospects.

    So true

  9. I will be eligible to apply for citizenship on October 27th. Do I need to just submit N-400? How about biometrics? Is it the same form we filed when we applied for our greencard? Also, is it possible to e-file?

    Fee is $595 + $80 for biomentrics

Is what the same form as you did for greencard?

I do not believe N-400 is yet a part of the e-file program.

Go to the USCIS form website, scroll down, way down to the N-400, read all the instructions including downloading the M-476 manual, 68 pages of very enjoyable reading.

    Thanks

I already downloaded it, but only read the part that I need to submit N-400 form :)
