Tom, theres something screwy going on over there.
Most people get their AOS bill within a day after giving the operator their email address. I still havent received any email from them. Granted its only been 3 days but still. Slow.
-
I just want my AOS Bill. Dont they want my monies!
-
ha thats what i figured till someone messaged me and told me to get my invoice number since they got theirs today too. So it threw me off.
OK ill shad up now.
-
I thought you suppose to contact the senator only if the approval takes longer than 5 months?
-
So wife sent in her Choice of Agent via email. Received an auto response but thats it so far.
Do i call to get the invoice number or wait till they send the bill via email?
-
Maybe but it wouldnt be till end of September now.
Really depends how fast i get through NVC. If i finish by early September then i will go middle of Sept.
Ill decide after getting the PCC as we know it will be the biggest time killer.
-
It has been 3 months 3 weeks and 3 days of waiting
Im guessing yours will come tomorrow.

One of my friend recently applied for PCC at ahmedabad office, and he told me his experience:
They won't issue passport clearance certificate without looking at the missing document cheaklist OR interview letter itself. Even security person won't allow you inside without having either of these letters in hand. My sister-in-law at NVC stage recently went and experienced this. So we called NVC and inquired about this specific matter. NVC told that you should send DS-230 and all other supporting documents As soon as you pay IV fee's and when you get barcode cover sheet. They will then review all documents and then only they will generate missing document cheaklist.
And PCC at ahmedabad office doesn't take more than 2 weeks-3 weeks (including appilcation and getting in hand). So I am not worried for passport clearance certificate now as I know the process. Only thing is I want to send out DS-230 and police clearance certificate and other supporting documents to my spouse before time.
Yep, NVC operator told me the same. Seems like such a waste of time!
Wish ahemdadbad wouldnt be so strict on the police clearance. Its almost as if their rules are saying you need to fail the visa process before we issue you the papers that you need. Oye!

Yous the best! Thanks!

So im reading NVC shortcut and i am confused on one part.
When your case has been manually input, the DS-3032 and AOS (Affidavit of Support) fee bills will be generated. Also, when the AOS fee bill is generated, your IIN (Invoice Identification Number) is created.
Note - it may be possible that your IIN is created when your NVC number is created...THIS is the time to begin the quest for the IIN, but when requesting, ask for Invoice ID Number, not "IIN".
Now should i call in a couple of days and request for the Invoice ID Number or just wait till they email me the AOS fee bill?
Your IIN will be on the last page of the pdf file attached to the email NVC will send you. You do not need to obtain it from the operator. This is the email that gives you directions to pay online when your AOS Fee Bill is generated. At this time, this email arrives in one business day (in some cases same day) after you have given the NVC operator you and your spouse's e-mail addresses. -
I just called the NVC. I went through the phone AVR and after entering my WAC # it said I was not in the system. Okay I guess thats right because I was only approved on the 14th. So my question is, can I count on the AVR and just keep checking it for a case number. Then after 2 weeks of waiting speak to an operator. I see in LingChe's Shortcut is said it could be scanned but not in the system. SO when do I opt to speak to an operator? I dont want to waste their or my time unless there is some hope of getting what I need. I figure I am a bit early expecting a Case Number so soon.
Tom,
I just talked to an operator and they gave me my case number. Yours might be ready too if you talk with them.
-
Yea i called back. Talked to a guy who was GREAT.
Right away he asked for an email address to add to the case. Didnt even have to ask!
-
Sweet, they assigned my case number!
But the guy on the phone wouldnt take my email address and said i would have to do everything through snail mail? What gives?!
-
Jimmy,
"06-18-2010 - Received email to Send DS-230" in your timeline... did you get a checklist in that email?
I wonder if my wife printed out that email if the passport office would give her the PCC then?
I would love to try it the way you explained above but i know my wife doesn't have the courage to stand up to them like yours did.
-
Hi,
What I would do is try and get a hold of some of the more older VJ members from Gujarat who might still have their checklist in their inboxes. Or anyone who got a RFE for PCCs, actually. See if they will let you use it (obviously without the barcode part) -- I know a few people from Gujarat and Hyderabad (the two places that cause the most trouble) who did this -- sharing the checklist to get their PCCs quickly.
Hmm. Anyone willing to help me out with this?
-
I dont know if it should be or not. I am just going by the email and will update when I get a hard copy and see what date they have on the approval page. Cheers Drink up...haha
Hardcopy will say the 14th.
Same wording as the email they had sent you which states you were approved on the 14th as well.
-
mmm beer, burp!
Congrats Tom!! Shouldnt your NOA2 date be the 14th?
-
did you check your case status online
Yes, i always checked their site. It didnt get updated until today which is the same time i received their text and email confirmation of approval.
In otherwords, dont stress about the online status as the hardcopy may come before any of that is updated.
-
Your celebration appears muted. What's wrong, guy?
Oh nothings wrong. I received the hardcopy of the NOA2 yesterday so i thought it was funny that they NOW sent me a text.
-
Well, i got a text today saying my I-130 was approved. Ha.
-
Jesal and Rvince - Time to get going with the reading if you haven't already. Make sure you guys share everything with us
Jesal - I hope you are looking into purchasing that ticket to india for ur september trip Anyway, let me know about the PCC issue for the GREAT amd.
Thanks.
Not sure what i will do. I dont plan to go to India until NVC is done of course.
From the looks of it NVC is slow too, im hoping to be done with it by early september with a mid to late October interview date. But that might be wishful thinking.
-
hahaha.
It takes some time for the file to reach NVC. I am thinking I will call in on Friday... they hopefully have it by then.
When you call you want to ask them for your case number and give them yours and your wifes email address.
I think thats it.. correct me if im wrong anyone.
-
Ok enough celebrating, back to work....
rvince, when do you plan to call NVC to see about a case number?
-
I just realized they approved us on the 15th, same as our 6 month wedding anniversary.
Oh man my face hurts from smiling!
My I-130 was approved in 125 days from NOA1 date.

I did that on Monday.
But all is well, received the email and AOS bill today and paid. Sweeet!!
Is it safe to assume since i received the bill in my email (in my name too) that they received my wifes email for the 3032?
