  1. Aos fee is per petitioner not beneficiary. You pay 1 AOS fee for both parents.

    Thank you, this makes sense!

    hi

no, the aos if only paid once, since they are the same family group, but you must submit one i864 per parent

the DS260 is paid separately, one for each one

    Very helpful, thank you!

The DS-260 will be accessed once the fees are processed right?

  2. Are you sure? Cause it only let me pay once for the AOS and it said this:

    • If you are a U.S. citizen with petitions for your unmarried son(s), unmarried daughter(s), and/or parent(s) also in process at the National Visa Center, you only need to submit one AOS Fee for this case and all Related Cases.
    Related Cases

(MY NAME), the Petitioner of this case who is a US Citizen, has paid the AOS fee for a related petition of another unmarried son, unmarried daughter, and/or parent which is also in process at the National Visa Center. Payment on the related petition also satisfies the AOS fee for this petition.

  3. I'm a USC and I filed for both my parents in July and they got approved by the USCIS in December, right now we are at the NVC stage and I've a few questions since their directions seem rather confusing:

1- The AOS (affidavit of support) fees are $120. Does this mean for BOTH? Or EACH parent needs to pay $120? (Are both on the same affidavit?)

2- They say step 3 is to fill out the visa form, but I couldn't access it, do they let me access it after I pay?

    Thank you all a bunch.

  4. I filed for both parents in July and got an email with the folowing message:

On October 16, 2015, we transferred your Form I-130, Immigrant Petition for Relative, Fiance(E), or Orphan, Receipt Number ************, to another USCIS office. That office now has jurisdiction over your case. We sent you a notice that explains why we moved your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice.

Does anyone know what this means? I still have yet to get the letter in the mail so I'm not sure where it got transferred to.

    Thanks!

  5. People everywhere always want to have an opinion about your life and tell you how to live it, really what your friends are doing isn't very helpful and is only stereotyping a whole country. The US isn't perfect, no where on earth is perfect, but it's an amazing country, the people can be very friendly here, neighbors usually talk to each other, and people usually really mean to help you when you ask for help, I know this isn't very common in Germany, people in Germany tend to keep to themselves and don't like getting too close to someone.

The reason everyone always talks about politics because lets admit it, politics of this country do matter to all of the world, everyone wants to have an opinion, you have the right to express your opinions so people take advantage of that.

I've never seen shootings or homeless people, because I stay away from bad areas where things like that may happen, but shootings happen all over the world, you just don't see it on your TV because the media wants to only look at the big countries that people want to hear about.

Really, it doesn't matter what your friends argued to you about, cause a real friend would make the best of the situation and try to be of help and show support, which your friends greatly failed at, which makes their opinions about things or life, not that very important. Also think about this, Arizona in winter will be really warm, compared to your friends in Germany freezing their arsch, if I were you, that'd be the time to post pool pictures in February on Facebook and tag them :)

Viel Viel Glück! I think you will love it here!

  6. I also have a problem kindof similar. My husband (USC) used to have a security clearance and been inactive for 3 years, he recently reapplied for interim, and is under investigation for it now, some of his family members have TS. He is worried that he may not get it because he is married to me. I'm from Egypt, I've been living here for 3 years, I've a 10 year GC and I can literally start applying for US citizenship on January 1st 2014. My family members have never worked for the Egyptian government, they're all business owners.

Do you think he could get denied? he really wants this job, it will solve lots of our financial problems!

  7. Why would the DMV not issue you a DL based on the 2 year GC? I find this strange. The only reason I could think of is the expiration date, but why not issue you a DL that expires when the 2 year GC expires?

Congrats on the approval and hope you do get your DL,

    Dave

I was applying for the first time with the extension letter and almost expired GC. It's a hit and miss at most DMVs. I even got a stamp but now no need for it!

    Congrats

So the website updated for your case?

Yes! To think, I was only checking casually.

  8. Wow! How horrific! I am going to visit my family in Egypt with my husband and our 9 months old son. We are flying through Germany on the way home to the US. I really hope this doesn't happen to me, I couldn't imagine my husband and baby boarding without me, I'd die. I already got denied at the DMV with only the extension letter. Really the immigration system is FLAWED. They should give stamps automatically when you go for your biometrics appointment.

  9. So I went to the DMV to get my drivers license (first time) I went with my GC that expires on April first, and my one year letter extension. The guy didn't even look at my letter, no one would at that DMV! He just said no we don't accept those letters! Without even looking at it. I tried to explain that I'm here legally and won't get my new green card for months! I've a baby that has doctors appointments and so on. Called the USCIS they said that letter should have been accepted by the DMV.

Now I'm in a limbo, don't know what to do? We've been calling the Secretary of State office of Illinois and they've been giving me the run around.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

  10. My GC expires April first 2013, so I'm supposed to apply next January. However my father back home is very sick (liver failure) and doctors are giving him 6 months to get a transplant or pass away. My family really needs me now and I really need them. Can I postpone ROC? I don't just wanna take off irresponsibly, this is also my home, husband's home and more importantly my son's home. Please if you have any advice please let me know I'd appreciate it a lot.

  11. I'm a little behind on this (moving to 3 different places in the 20 months I've been here) and other things, but I really want to change my name now, where do I start?? It feels so overwhelming but I need to do it fast before we've our first child (due in 2 months) cause I want us all to have the same last name. I remove conditions next January so I'm really confused...

    Thanks a lot!

  12. I totally understand wanting someone around! I had to go to the ER once because I was bleeding and I'm thankful my husband could leave work early and take me. Maybe try to get your mom to come for a few months and then your MIL, like take turns, especially in the last few months before the baby comes. I'm glad your hubby will be home with you during the first trimester! You're a strong girl I'm sure you'll do great and figure something out!
