  1. should we bring both my wife's passport and birth certificate to the AOS interview? or would it be ok if we just bring her passport? because she only brought her original Indonesian birth certificate, not the english translated copy. but since her passport is written in both english and Indonesian, would her passport suffice?

I would take ALL the documents they might ask. It won't hurt to take the birth certificate. In case they ask, you guys have it

  2. Hang in there!

Looks like the other member (Poline) up there finally got her interview appointment after no notification of case resuming..

The wait is terrible, but you'll hear something soon!

    Yup!

Today I had a nice surprise! The USCIS letter was the only thing in my mail box!

    Still no "online" updates.

    We need to be patient...

    10/30/09 --- USCIS recebe o RFE e me envia o e-mail.

    11/01/09 --- "Touch".

    11/02/09 --- "Touch".

    11/03/09 --- "Touch".

    11/12/09 --- NOA2 no e-mail.

  4. Hello all

I received an RFE a few days ago from the NVC due to a 10 month gap in my wife's dates of residence which we didn't catch upon our review on the DS-230 Part 1 and some issues with the birth and divorce certificate we sent in. Anyway, we are almost finished resolving these issues and will send back what they requested next week. I asked the NVC operator how long it would take once they receive the revised DS-230 and new certificates and she gave me an answer of 6-8 weeks! I'm assuming this is just a "canned response" to cover themselves in case of an unexpected delay. Can I expect about the same wait time (8-11 days) as though I'm sending it all in like the first time. I would think this wouldn't go to the back of the line due to the RFE, but rather just sits in a special cue until what they need arrives and then they continue processing it. Any info would be appreciated or anyone who has dealt with an RFE from NVC would be great!

    Thanks!

They received my RFE on july 23, no updates... :(

  6. My entire AOS packet was returned to me in the mail today. I am trying to figure out what was wrong with the application. As far as I can tell, we forgot to check the box showing what we were applying for on the EAD. Is it normal for them to return the entire AOS package just because a mistake was made on the EAD? There were Rejection notices attached to the I-765,I-484,and the I-864 but only the rejection notice on the I-765 specified what was wrong ststing "I am applying for" which is the box we forgot to check. Once I correct that form is it safe to assume that we can re-submit the AOS packet?

    Thanks!

The same thing happen to a friend of mine. She couldn't tell what was wrong.

She thinks her package was kinda "messy", then she organized the forms and stuff, re submitted it and everything went fine.

Before re submitting it, make sure everything is correct and organized.

    Boa sorte! :)

  8. Just a little update :) We sent our response to RFE on Aug 4th and it was delivered today at 4.20 PM. Our RFE was for I-864 as we didn't send any proof of current income. :bonk:

Congrats, Younglove and Chris on your EAD approval .

Congrats, jtdr2716 on your AOS transferring to CSC

Matt & karry and Aya and John,Sorry about the RFE.Hopefully you folks will fix the issues and send them back to Lee's Summit.

Proline...they got my RFE today and I'm very much nervous after your experience.May be, they're working on your case and you'd get a notification when your EAD is approved as you know their update system is not very reliable. Some people have their update status on the initial review even when their AOS is approved, right? Good luck!!

I know a few people experiencing the same situation, what makes me think the big delay is "normal"

    Gluck for us!

  9. I think I waited for about a month or so before any word from USCIS after they received my RFE... There should be a time frame guideline on this site somewhere in regards to that, but 2 weeks is definitely not a lot of time. Calling your congressman would, like the previous poster mentioned, be a last resort, only if the USCIS did not complete your application within the speculated time frame.

Just relax and take a deep breath! :)

Oh really? I guess I will need to wait more lol

    Thanks :)
