it took 8 months to get my wife's birth certificate fixed. They had the incorrect middle name. Grace and Her mother had to go to her mothers birth city to try to fix it. Hey they are still using carbon paper and type writers when they fill out forms over there. I'm helping a friend do his I-129f so if you would like me to look over any thing or if you have any questions let me know.

you don't have to wait two year to file your I-129f, as soon as you have met in person then you can file.
If you have your passport then that should be enough to petition for the I-129f. You just have to prove you are an American Citizen.
