  1. Had received RFE on 03/11, it was for a complete medical. We just decided to do a new medical for $145 in SAN JOSE, CA. we want to just get it over with.

Unfortunately i could not be there with my wife to finish all this formalities. I had to rush to india urgently, my father passed away on the 11th.

Life is never fair but we have to learn to live with it..

    >spygame,

I am very sorry for your loss.

Well, I tried walk-in at Detroit this morning around 9am. Security was not a problem. I went into the Biometric room. There were about 10 people in the room. There was a reception woman sitting there. I showeed my letter and ID and she asked me,

"why you are here? Your appointment date is March 31."

    I told her,

"I have a business trip on that day and I will be out of town."

    She said,

"Well, then you need to re-schedule your appointment. You are not supposed to come here today."

    I was thinking

"Oh, nooooo. Did I waste of my time to drive an hour to come here?" :crying::wacko:

After the seconds, she said to me,

"Fill out this form and wait. If there are no lines here, you could try but there is no guarante."

So, I filled out the form and waited. I was going to wait for a while but about 10 minutes after she called me again and she told me to wait in line.

Thank god, I was able to take bio!!

She was not really nice and she did not smile to me at all but she gave me a chance to take bio.

    So I did!!!

It only took me about 7 minutes to finish my bio and picture taken.

I left the building around 9:30 am.

I think there were about 10 people at 9 am appointment and after everyone is finished, I was able to take it.

It really depends on the person who handle. If you meet in the nice person, you can, if you meet in the mean person, you can not.

It worth trying if you live not far from the office.

Have a wonderful day Feb. Fillers!!! :D

  2. Thank you for yuour comments Nikita2Charles and Darnell. :)

My understanding is that in general, if I loose a job, I need to leave USA since I am working under E2 VISA which means that I will not receive UI in ths USA.

One of my friends who was Japanese citizen lost his job and he left USA and applied for UI but he could not receive UI.

Well, my sisuation is different from him so I am just going to try and see if I receive it or not them.

  3. The first question is were you or your employer paying into the insurance ? Not everyone does and if there is no money going in you can't get any out.

    Hello NigeriaorBust.

Well, I thought this will be paid by State or Government.

I looked up Unemployed Insurance Agency website and I though I was qualified to receive it except Alien Registration # part.

  4. Thank you for your comment payxibka and DanielParul.

Well, in Michigan UIA website, it says that:

If you are not a citizen or national of the United States, you will need your Alien Registration Number and the expiration date of your work authorization.

I do not have it since I just applied AOS last month.

I talked to the support desk but she was not sure if I am eligible or not.

I think I am just going to apply it and they willl let me know if they would accept my application or not....

  5. Opening Scene, John's Biometrics, Part I

(We're among the first there. John gives security his letter, shows his passport)

Security: Okay, go in. No, wait … no, no, no. This letter says the 18th. (patronizing voice) Today isn't the 18th, today is the 8th.

    (John tries to explain)

Me: Oh yes, I know, but his appointment is for noon next week, and I have to work, so I was hoping we could just do it now.

Security: Well, you have to come back on the appointment date. I cannot let you in, by (blah blah blah) of President Obama.

Me: Your office has allowed walk-ins just recently.

Security: (caught off-guard) I know, but not today.

    Me: You've just decided this.

    Security: Yes I have.

    Me: You're an a**hole.

(John and I turn and walk away)

Security: Blah blah blah … tresspassing. (I didn't hear him because we were walking away)

Me: (shouting over my back) Oh, #### off!

    End Scene.

So, walk-in did not work, LOL.

Was I disappointed? Not really, we'll just come back next week.

Was I pissed off? Hells yeah, because security was a jerk. There's no excuse for being rude, I don't care who you are.

Anyway, that's that. IF YOU ARE DOING BIOMETRICS IN SANTA ANA, JUST ASSUME THAT THERE ARE NO WALK-INS.

Tune in next week when John and I will try it again.

    Camie,

I am so sorry to hear about it.

That is sucks that you had to deal with jerk security guy.

I hope you will fell better soon.

  6. I just changed my name at SS office last week and I was able to change my name without any problem.

Ex) Old name which showed on my SS card: Mary (First Name) Smith (my maiden name) no middle name

    Husband last name: Dixson

After got married : Mary (First) Smith (Middle) Dixson (Last name)

I brought my Certified copy of Marriage Certificate and Passport. I also filled out SS application form. Whatever you write in application form, they can make changes for your SS card as long as you have sufficient documents. I did not have middle name before married but I wanted to add my Maiden name as middle name, so I put my maiden name in middele name section and they did for me.

On the same day, I sent USCIS to file my AOS.

So I do not think you have to wait until you get your GC.

  7. check cashed today! :wow::dance:

Same here. Check chashed yesterday March 2.

I hope we can receive NOA soon.

I put mailling address my husband's parents house since we are currently looking for a house and we are not sure when we will find a house and when we will move to new house. At this time, husband's parents are out of town since last Thursday and they are coming back tonight.

They said that they told USPS to hold all the mails at the post office.

I hope it doesn't delay for process.

  8. Hey akochi, Happy Friday!!

USCIS has a form on their site that you fill out and attach along with your AOS package.

That's why we're all getting our emails.

    >Camie

Thank you for yourt quick response.

    Oh, OK.

I should have looked more carefully this forum earlier.... :crying:

Oh well, it is too late anyway...

I am jost going to cross my fingers and wait to receive my case # by mail....

I am about a week behind you, Camie, so hopefully I will receive my case # by mail by the end of next week.

  9. Hello everyone! Happy Friday!

I am just wondering how to receive e-mail confrimation even before receving NOA.

I think someone said in this forums that there is special form that I had to fill out.

Did I suppossed to send some documetns with other documents?

I have set up my account in USCIS but without getting case #, there is no way to track my case....

I am hoping that I can receive case # next week....
