Hey...
I am gathering the docs for AOS and I notice that the salary stated on the employment letter (supervisor got the amount based on my recent W-2) and the amount stated on tax transcript are different. Its not off by much, only a couple hundred dollars. Does anyone think this will be a problem? If so, should an explanation be included? Thanks.

So...I just got off the phone with Amanda @ NVC (very nice and helpful by the way) and she provided me with the case #, IIN & BIN! This was a good Friday the 13th and will surely be a good weekend now that I have this info! And I think I read somewhere in this thread that IV is $230....so....even better! Yaaay!
Have a good weekend everyone!

So I called again today and still nothing
Ditto!

Make sure you do NOT use white-out, but simply scratch it out and write in the correct information.
Thanks for pointing that out...white out was already lurking in my mind...but @ some point I would of came on here and asked for advice! LOL
Yup, I made some mistakes and just crossed off and rewrote and NVC accepted my docs.
Thanks Steph...I swear I have printed the damn thing like 3 times already! Am glad somebody mentioned the free Adobe trial...that way I already have it saved!
Ohh & I just figured out MULTI-QUOTE! LOL! Yaaay!

My problem was that I misunderstood the question. Question# 30 says,"List below all places you have lived for at least six months since reaching the age of 16, including places in your country of nationality. Begin with your present residents".
For my wife I put her residents from birth to present, NOT age 16 to present!! so i had to remove 16 years from her dates!
NVC mentioned that a lot of people missed this or misunderstood it entirely.
Question#23 we put the year her father died, yes you must do this!
Question#28 we left this blank, as #27 gives her current address!
Good luck!
Looks like I made the same mistake also, I put his birth and month year to present (since he's never lived anywhere else)! UGH! That question is on the page he already signed, so I guess I will just scratch the year off and WRITE IN the correct one!
Thanks for the help!

YAY!
Yes, you can write it in. I had to do that on some of my forms too!
Ok, thanks!
-
Do you know what the error was for that question?
Yes,
The operator only said Question# 30, so i looked at a copy i have here i the only thing i think it can be is the fact I Left a few blank spaces under the Provinces section! The review is so new that the operator can not see more than that, 4:30pm est is the point of update!
I didn't think to put N/A were or the city were she lives in Hong Kong
So...I noticed I didn't fill out the Province either on this question...would it be ok, to WRITE IT IN, or do I have to type out a new form, send it to the hubby for signature again and have him send it back?
Also, while we're on the subject of leaving things blank, #23 & #28 (on DS230, parents deceased?) I left that blank. They aren't deceased. I tried to put N/A but the form said that was not a valid format...so, again, can I WRITE IN N/A?
Sorry if it all seems trivial...just trying to avoid RFE's...
Thanks!

Good Morning All
No case # for me today...
Have a good Easter Weekend
-
It SHOULD be, but looks like there's some weird officers at NVC Do you have the newest form filled out, or a previous one?
I have the newest one filled out and signed within the last two weeks, so am hoping NVC will accept it when I get to that part, which hopefully will be sometime this month...
-
So, if we have the DS-230 filled out, is it safe to say that unless NVC changes it in the next month or so, that it is fine to use?
Sorry Saylin, looks like you answered my question before I posted it! LOL! Thank you!
-
The date on the forms are for OMB; it's not an expiration of the form.
So, if we have the DS-230 filled out, is it safe to say that unless NVC changes it in the next month or so, that it is fine to use?
-
OK, so has anyone started calling the NVC yet? It's 7:38 Eastern time!
Well...I just did...lady says case just got there today...call back in couple of weeks for case #...

You must have a police certificate issued within 30 days of your interview to present to the embassy at the time of interview Confirm with the embassy as things do change but this is what I have ALWAYS seen.
For those of us who are doing CR-1 the process is slightly different as the PC is good to send to NVC for up to 6 months. However, we must also obtain ANOTHER PC at the time of interview, within 30 days of the interview.
Thanks for clearing that up Stephanie...God willing I'll be picking that PC this upcoming week and was fearing that it would expire prior to me getting it to NVC...

Interesting...I just had this conversation with my husband (who is in Dominican Republic) yesterday...he says its valid for 30 days also...

Finally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just got the text!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Approved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you God!
-
Cool, I didn't know there were 2 fellow New Jerseyans here with me... small world... I'm in Essex County...
Essex County for me also...Too bad us Jerseyans didn't get sent over to VSC...we coulda been halfway done already!
-
Congratulations to both of you! It is raining approvals here in this thread! Need to get the umbrella out.
Who is your congressman here in NJ?
There were 3 listed, but the one specific to my address is Bill Pascrell.
-
I too contacted our congresswoman. We have to fill out a form and send all our information (copies of all our documents) did anyone else have to do this or did you just give name and receipt #?
I'm feeling dicouraged today after seeing three couples get noa2 withdates later than mine (sept 15). Thanks for listening, guess I needed to vent, too. :-)
I believe most of them like for you to fill out some sort of Privacy Authorization Form. That gives them the green light to look into your case. The person who I spoke with today only asked for my name and receipt #. She claimed she would call me this afternoon...good thing I didn't hold my breath on that one because she never did....
-
So...tomorrow is my six month mark...
I called the congressman office today (NJ). The lady just asked me for my name and receipt number and said she'd call me back this afternoon. I have a feeling I'll be getting the generic response of "another 45 days" or "we're still working on Aug 2nd" etc...
I've been patiently waiting for six months...its starting to get to me! Ok, thanks for letting me vent. That's all!

Same thing here, hubby's middle name was left out. I called USCIS and they emailed me back with a response saying that it was in the system. I'd say don't worry about it...
-
If you are 100% sure of the city and state, write the city and state. If you are less than 100% sure, then you would write "last known" before writing the city and state. If a specific address is asked for (i.e. number and street), but you don't know it, then you don't know it and would write "unknown."
Thank you!

Hello.
I am getting a head start on the DS 230...my trouble is with question #29, which states:
List Names, Dates and Places of Birth and Addresses of ALL children.
My husband (beneficiary) has a daughter. She is already a permanent resident in the USA. Although we won't be petitioning her, I know she must be listed in this section, but we do not have an address (due to baby mamma drama). Is it possible to write unknown or just the city and state? Will that create any problems?
Thanks for any help!
-
I just did the same thing...the notice ommitted his middle name. I am not sure if that was intentional or not. The operator just said they would send a notice to the service center that is handling the case. I doubt that will speed things up though...
-
Looks good...quick question though? I noticed you did not list any attachments to the forms, so that means you were able to fit everything on the form? Just wondering because addresses in DR are like 5 lines long! LOL (Well, my husband's...)
