If you having issues with the Udon clinic I suggest the clinic in Laos. Also, when does it say you need to pass the medical before you even get an interview date? I recalled my wife had to go multiple times for vacinations and X-rays after getting her Interview date. BTW, hire a consultant in Laos who knows the procedures to obtain the K1 Visa. It's dirt cheap and he/she would hold your fiance's hand the entire way! Dont know anyone? Ask the Elders and you shall get in contact with one.

Your story is not uncommon. Looks like very sloppy paperwork involved here!! Especially on your x-fiance's side. Mistakes happens, good intentions sometimes have a negative effect and consequences. That's why there is a consulate interview to determine these things. Next time dont make the same mistakes and make sure everything is correct. Anyway, good luck, doubt anything bad will happen to you.

Your wife need to be a citizen ( 3 or more years ) and petition for the brother ( about 12 additional years ) To say he won't be coming soon is an understatement
Very true, may even take 30 years or NEVER Happen at all! Don't hold your breathe.

Posted in the wrong Portal.
In Lao, the medical exam will provide you with the big brown envelope/Chest X-Ray, a document that you were vaccinated, with dates. Proceed to the interview where most likely they don't even care about that stuff! I would not be worried if the information was given verbally.

Umm... what?
All I-129F petitions get sent to the Dallas Lockbox and forwarded to either CSC or VSC depending on where the US petitioner lives.
LOL, you are correct. I was posting from Rev. 07/30/07) now it's Rev. 06/22/12).

-50 points for not reading the I-129F Instructions (the lockbox address is in there)
-50 points for not using the search engine (you would have found the timeticks after mailing)
-50 points for not studying the pinned topics in the K-1 forum (all stuff is explained there)
-50 points for logging in with a handphone to try to 'do' research
-50 points for having righteous indignation
-50 points for making it ethnic ...
Anything else to cover ? oh yeah.
-50 points for not showing yer parents a printed version of the K-1 guide and K-1 flowchart
-200 points for letting yer parents taking over and getting an attorney who is 'ethnic'
yikes.
Totally agree with you Darnell. When I was doing my petition. It was frustrating enough the wait. Make silly mistakes and not doing things properly will only prolong your wait.
HoneyBoo, When you do your I134. Make sure to ask questions first. Also, when you wife receives her call from the embassy. Make sure to ask people who are familiar with the Embassy in Lao and their procedures. Here is a list. No freaking Lawyer is going to be able to help you do the below!!!!!
Lao Passport
Lao ID
Lao Family Registry
Lao Birth Certificate
Lao Criminal Report/Certificate
Medical Checkup -- Twice to Udon Thailand or Vientiane!
Certificate of Engagement/Marriage Certificate sign by Village Chief!
If you want to pay a lawyer for the I134, you can just pay me 5 pennies and I'll get you going.

each lockbox has 'load balancing' in place - so
on the day yer stuff hit, a decision was made which service center to send it to.
PO BOX or Physical address, it doesn't matter - what does matter is the load balancing 'rule' in place that day.
Relax .
Man you guys are all wrong. The processing centers are based on the location you live. No wonder you petition is taking so long. I'm surprised they didn't just sent it back to you. They stop doing lockboxes like in 2009 or earlier.

You must provide a statement/police report regardless if you were charged or not. If you were driving which you did not indicate, it would be a OWI/DUI offense. If you were not driving, the record would possibly show up if do a background check on you.

Someone should start an ALL HMONG thread to save some of the newly K1 filers from confusion, alleviate the filers from their anxiety! But WAIT, most of the filers are all old HMONG FOLKS who don't use the internet!! LOL....
I've help about 4 filers on here personally with my K1 samples, Lao specific documentation, Lao procedures, etc.. BEST of all. I do it for FREE! That's what this site was meant to be. FREE Advice, through each others experience!!!
1) IF you using the CA service center? Where do it say to mail it to Dallas??
USCIS California Service Center P.O. Box 10130 Laguna Niguel, CA 92607-0130.

I tried convincing my parents that too but they insisted that I get a lawyer. Oh well, the important thing that matters the most to me right now is that I get my fiance here to the U.S. as soon as possible. Thank you, I appreciate your advice though, Darnell. :-D
At little bit late on this one. Why do you need a lawyer when you seem educated. Old HMONG folks don't know squat so you should not take their advice literally. If you compare (Laos) K1 timelines, you'll see everyone is within the 180 - 250 day range. Some of us are luckier than others due to NO RFE, issues or delays. Also your in Vermont and Your cousins in CA service center so don't compare the two. Also, that one DREAM ACT by Obama might have cause you some delay as well! Have patience...

Cool! It's better when you are able to pull it off yourself and not rely on others. I have a friend who is still awaiting on his parents to complete his paperwork, get help for his fiance in Laos, etc.. excuses, excuses. I even provide copies of my I-129F, answered all questions and concerns.. Still he's awaiting for his folks. I guess Love, and being with each other can wait for him

*** Everything was ran by me, don't listen to anyone trying to make a few dollars by "helping" you just because they know someone on the inside ***
Congrads! However I have to disagree with you on the "helping" part. Some people can not spend over a month
in Laos and do this all on his own. I also highly doubt you did not received help from the local relatives unless you were fluent in Lao writing and reading. Anyway just wanted to point out that make sure the person helping you can be trusted.
-
You don't need updated pictures from your finance. They will only use the one you submitted with your application I129F or If you decided to add any in your I134. Also, dating it "manually" can make a difference but you should have taken pictures with digital timestamps on the picture if you were using a digital camera. Anyway, I don't think it's all that important as long as your other documentation, proof of evidence looks legit.
-
I'm pretty sure I130 is very similar to I129f petition. My fiance at the time had to get a new one because she obtained one too early within the process. If that is the case, you have to get another one if it's expired. I would not risk the chance the Consulate telling you it's expired and to get a new one. Save yourself the headache especially if he/she does not reside within the Vientiane Province and needs to get travel back to her Police District within her HOM/Province.
-
You don't need to send this with the I-129f. If you did. You would need translated versions and someone to sign off on this stating they are both fluent in English and Lao. It's more headache than it's worth. Also, the Visa Instructions for Fiance Visa Application checklist(From US Embassy Lao) does not have this item on it. I can send this to you. However, you will not submit the letter until you're ready to submit your I-134 package to the embassy. I'll have to scan this and send to you later.
-
I got one. It just states your finance is single and allowed to marry. It's written in Lao, translated in English and it's to be submitted with the I-134 information. It must be stamped by the Village Chief. It will probably do you no good here in the US and not necessary to send with your I-129F. You have to get this done in Laos per the Village Chief Seal of approval.

If you need any questions answered. You can HIT ME Up!

CONGRADS MAN! I've been checking every so often to see when you would get the NOA2. You have to wait a couple of weeks, 3 weeks at most to get the NVC to pass the paperwork to Consulate in Laos. From there, you'll still have a bunch of stuff for you fiancee to do.
Just a few I remembered:
* medical exam
* crimial record papers
* engagement certificate from village chief
* lao family registry booklet
* lao ID
* lao passport
If you need anything, let me know while it's still fresh in my head. I know I still got the offical PDF from the US Embassy that one of the members on here sent me.

Dude, looks like your on schedule based on your time line. I know it can be frustrating but you got to have patience. Anyway, didn't you just visit your fiance last month? When it's all said and done you'll probably end up in the 230 - 260 days start to finish.
-
I'm no expert here but the answer points to obtaining a new Lao Family Registry Booklet. Every family has one. Therefore if your fiancee adopts a child, he/she should have one. You can have this done, or inquire with you fiance's village chief or hire someone to assist your fiancee for a fee.
When you fill out the I-129f, make sure you include your fiancee's children's name under Part B, question 13.
The success rate is as good as anyone without a child. The legal proof you need is from the Lao government documents such as the above (Lao Registry Book), child birth certificate. GL

You only need 1 G-325a for you. 1 G-325a for you finance. That means 1+1 = 2 G-325a to be sent with your I-129f petition.
Your finance's documents (birth cert, divorce papers, etc.. does not need to be sent along with your I-129f petition.

Update - My I-129f was accepted 3/26th with my response to the RFE.
LESSON learned and hopefully someone in the foreseeable future can use this info.
When you want to marry you second cousin, I guess you have to write an extra INTENT to marry in whatever state your living in. Since some states do not allow first cousin marriages but mostly all allows second cousin marriages. I guess you also have to write an Affidavit, swore statement signed by at least 2 people, 3 preferred and explain how you come to be related. I think it helps to create a family tree since in some cultures, kinship, lineages are viewed differently. Anyway, THANK YOU all for you response.
(RFE) Need help understanding what exactly do they need
