  1. I just got my wife's police clearance from Colombia (we are getting ready to send DS230) and it looks terrible!

I mean, it's clean, no police reports ever. The problem is that it looks way too simple. No stamps or seal, no signature, black and white, poor quality print, cheapest sheet or paper you can possible find. It can't be worse! This one is going to be a long shot at NVC. I can see an RFE from here.

    Anybody with a similar issue?

Advice will be highly appreciated. Thank you.

  2. Hi all,

    I rec'd an RFE letter containing;

Submit evidence that you and your fiance (e) have met each other in person at some time during the two-year period from October 15, 2007 until October 15, 2009, the filing date of your petition. Evidence may include, but is not limited t:

Your own statement, which must include the date, place, and circumstances of your meeting, and should be supported by copies of transportation tickets , photos (date and place of the photo must be noted on photos), and/ or letters written to each other after your meeting. Additionally, photocopies of your and/ or your fiance (e)'s passports, (including biographical data pages and pages showing entry/ exit stamps, where applicable) showing that you have both been present in a given location at the same time may be submitted.

Affidavits from others must (1) identify the affiant and state the nature of that affiant's relationship to either party, (2) set forth the basis of the affiant's knowledge, and (3) contain a statement of the facts the affiant knows regarding your meeting.

    If you have not met the beneficiary in person at some time during the two-year period from October 15, 2007, until October 15, 2009, the filing date of your petition, provide evidence which establishes that compliance would result in extreme hardship to yourself;

The thing is, the last time we met was on April 2007 and i started a new job on August 2007, and the company would not let me go on vacation after a year or so, I was allowed to go for 5 days and that was it and I was not able to go visit again on 2008 because of the recession that just happened and I was afraid to loose my job if I insisted of going for more than 2 weeks...until then all we did after the last meeting was to send each other greeting cards and emails occasionally. Now i don't know what to do if I should get a letter from the company that I was hired on Aug 2007 and so forth...

    Thank you.

    Listen.

I traveled 10 times to south america to see my wife just this year 2009 and they still were asking for more and more evidence. Don't waste your time and money. your don't meet the requirements to me and to be honest your relationship sounds fake. sorry that's what it looks like.

  3. Looking at some of the Similar timelines on this site i see that many have gotten NOA2 in about 30 35 days. It has been almost 90 days now for me and i have not heard anything. Any thought on this?? I know i should relax and wait, am i worring for nothing at this point??

    Thanks ALL

254 days for me with NO RFE. I hope is not your case but bottom line just relax and wait. Maybe next week, maybe next month. maybe tomorrow.

  4. Does your baby not qualify for US citizenship?

I was a Permanent Resident when my baby was born. I become a US Citizen 6 months latter. I even e-mail the US embassy at Bogota and they replied me that since I was not a USC by the time the baby was born he does not qualify for US citizenship.

Now my problem is that the NVC has not received my baby's application and my wife's application it's been at the NVC for some time. Now the two cases are going to have a big difference in processing status and I will have to go to the embassy twice.

  5. I am a USC and I filed 2 I-130 applications one for my wife and one for our baby (8 months old back then I was a LPR when he was born)

Both Applications were approved on an interview I had on Nov 19th and My wife's i-130 already has a case# assigned at NVC but NVC has no Information at all about my baby's i-130 and it's been already 3 weeks.

What should I do? please help me!

  6. Has anyone tried calling NVC today I've been trying to call since this morning and the phone has been busy since.

I called today. Have to dial like 10 times b4 I got the AVR. Just put it on speed dial. I even put the whole thing on speed dial.

    it is

    603 334 0700 pause

    1 pause

    1 pause

    1 pause

4 (if your case starts with WAC) pause

    1 pause

case number + "#" double pause

    1

    and that's it

    works for me !

  7. Hello I have the same problem. My i-130 was approved on November 19th; today is Dec. 2 and NOTHING. I know is been only 13 Days but it's so frustrating to see people getting to NVC in less than a week!

Please Let me know how you did since you have 3 weeks ahead of me.

    Thank you

    Edward Toro

I called USCIS and made a complaint because I didnt receive my hardcopies stating the approval and I asked for a supervisior and he said he would get them sent out to me and I added in there that they didn't make it to the NVC either. He was kind enough to be understanding and put in a service request for me. Then 3-4days later, NVC recieved my K3 and 6-7days later my I130 made it. Keeping bugging them, it's the only way. It was driving me crazy also seeing fast deliveries but Goodluck.

Thank you. As soon as I get to NVC I'll let you know.

  8. I'm beginning to think that NVC are waiting until the last possible minute, when you have lost the plot; become a fruit basket; then give you an interview date.

just wanted to let you know I have read your post and you are not alone. I'm in the same ship. we have been waiting for over 3 years and right now I'm waiting for the NVC to give us our case # (14 days and still no case #). We have a 17 months old baby. Thank GOD I can go once a months for 5 days to see my wife and our baby.

So don't worry GOD will make thinks go easier for you if you invite Him to your life, to help you with this.

  9. Oh i'm talented in the kitchen, I do most of the cooking! :P

  10. hi, everyone.

    thank you for your help.

Can anyone give me some information on how to contact a senator? I had my citizenchip interview on Oct 14 and I'm still waiting for the oath letter, when I called this number 1800 375 5283 my file in the interview process, and I must wait 90 days to check again when i told her that i already had my interview.

I need to travel outside USA now, is it safe ?

    thanks

Well travel is not really a big problem. When you go to take the oath ceremony, they will give you a form where you list the trips you have taken between the interview and your ceremony. Keep in mind that if you want to travel with your new US Passport it will take about 2 weeks for express service and it will cost you $200 dollars. One more think. I have my interview in early December and my ceremony on February. So just wait a little more.

  11. I-130 approved. then received a letter that case is transferred to NBC!!!!

Hello. I really need some help here.

I filed an I-130 for my wife (I'm a US citizen) After 7 months received an appointment letter for an interview at my local uscis office (app. date nov 19, I was expecting an approval letter or something) Went to the app. with documents, pictures and etc and thank GOD the officer told me that my I-130 has been approved and that the case will be forwarded to the NVC and the us embassy in Colombia. He gave me a latter

    (notice of approval)

I was very happy. but today I received the following notice of action letter (notice date: november 19! same day as my interview) :

This is to advise you that in order to speed up processing we have transferred the above case to the following USCIS office for processing

    USCIS-NBC, Lee's Summit, MO 64064

That office will notify you of the decision made on the application or petition.

I'm really confused. I thought that my case has been forwarded to the NVC. My case was approved already at the USCIS office on the 19th why the letter said that I'll be notify on the decision made????

Thank you very much I'm really confused now
