Thank You Safroot, now since I am already over my 3 years can you give me any info on the walk in FP? is there somewhere closer than the Bronx? the appointment is 8am ( means I have to leave here by around 4.30/5 am and daughter would have to miss a day of school, so if there is somewhere closer that I can get to that would be wonderfull.

From what i saw when i went to get my biometrics done,there was a couple who had their son with them. so i think it's ok to take the kids to the biometrics, i don't know about the interview. hope that helps

I took my daughter last time ( she was 8 ) and she did not have an appointment, they never said a word about it.

I also received the same email Finger prints on the way!!

Just thought of another question, when I get a biometrics letter, it will most likely send me to the Bronx again, I am almost exactly in the middle between Albany and NYC, is there somewhere nearer that I could do a walk in? I am in Ulster County NY

Ok, so did I mention I get crazy when dealing with USCIS? LOL...now I'm freaking out because everyone is getting fingerprint letters and I have not heard a word, am I the only one who turns into a paranoid schizophrenic when dealing with USCIS ? is this because I requested a name change back to my maiden name? or perhaps because as I just realised today that where it asks for my childrens full names I put only thier first names and not surname?

you should have gotten your Receipt number on the NOA, it should be under Application number to the left side on top. check it again and good luck. i hope you guys get through that snow storm safe and sound

It has an application number that begins with NBC is that it? cause when I put that in with and without the letters to check status it did not recognice the number.

I just looked at old letters from the 10 GC and it is different up top, the one I have this time has a box that says Reciept in the top left hand corner under that is case type and under that is the application number

I have a question for all who have recieved thier NOA, does yours have a reciept number for checking your status online?...you see mine does not and of course now that I'm back on the USCIS rollercoaster I'm bugging out.

ok got a question, I finally got a chance to really look at my letter, and I just want to check it is what I think it is.

It says

"The above application has been recieved by our office and is in process. Our records indicate your personal information is as follows:

Address where you live: xxxxxxxxxxx

Please verify your personal information listed above and immediately notify our office at the address or phone number listed below if there are any changes.

Upon reciept of all record checks, you will be scheduled to apear for an interview at your local USCIS field office.

Is this an RFI ? or just because we moved house fairly recently ( yes I informed them )

Also I am assuming since I had my biometrics done around this time last year they are not sending me again...maybe...will this make the process faster?

Congratulations, Sorry if I sound like a grump but begining the long nerve wracking wait AGAIN just stresses me out and I really just want it all over with now.

Last week USCIS sent an email saying that my case had been transferred to a local office and an interview would be scheduled, so yesterday I finally got the interview letter.

I guess I'll spend the holidays studying for the test but it's all right!

today i had my interview in Garden State NY. my appointment was @ 7.30 AM. we left the house @ 6 AM. i reached there around 7.15AM. the customer service is bad. i stood in line for 10 min. then guy said, wait in section B till some one call u to go up stairs. around 7.45 AM. lady came took us to second floor. there were around 10 people waiting. i thought i will long day. but Chinese IO called my day, i was shocked that they call my right less then 10 min. As soon as we go inside the room he told me give me u r passport and green card. so i gave it him. before i put my bag on the chair he asked me

IO did't even ask my name or date of birth. only thing he ask me was how many children do u have? have u ever been arrested? he asked me 3 year tax. then he said, u passed n gave a paper stating that. bye bye the process took less than 10 min.

Hi all I have a question, I am about to begin the N400 application in a few weeks and yesterday for the first time in 27 years of driving I was given a speeding ticket ( 50 in a 40 zone ) Question is how will this effect the N400 application asuming I get fined or whatever they do will that have to go on the application?.

Are you moving to a different location that has a different district office? You should check this out first before applying. From your thread, it doesn't sound like the case but it is good to double check and not end up losing your money due to a technicality.

If you are within the same city then you should be ok.

Both, the USC and the GC holder need to submit address change forms. The USC needs to mail in the form which the GC holder can submit it online. From what I hear, a receipt letter will be sent in response to the USC's change of address request so my recommendation is to wait for that to arrive then submit the application. If the snail mail went through then the electronic one should be processed by then.
