I was just going to post and ask that as well!
Also, I logged into the site you posted Jill & Jeff. I did sign up before, and it's telling me to set up an appointment since it says I don't have one. But the letter I received from the NVC says I do. The actual interview date I was given isn't updated on this website is it?
"Appointment Information
You currently have no appointment scheduled."
Just double checking! I did get one for the 10th of February. It just doesn't say on this website! And thank you for the DHL information! I'm glad it was answered!

They do say that on the sheet of paper and on the website However I have yet to hear many people actually arriving 30 minutes early.. I hope some of the recent interview people can give you more details. I showed up at 7am.
Oh you showed up at 7? What time was your interview? I would definitely love to show up earlier!
Also, for a hotel in Montreal. I know there's a buttload of cheap ones if you get them from those websites like hotwire, but I didn't want to chance getting a really shabby looking hotel. I just went with the Holiday Inn which is about an 8 minute walk from the consulate. It was 115 a night, and I booked two nights. I don't mind it one bit. Total with taxes came to $269 (17% tax was $39)
I like Holiday Inn's service. Although all differ with services, I've stay at a few different ones in my life and they were all perfectly fine with me!

Our second page was blank as well, but it wasn't referenced anywhere else in the letter. I think that's just how it's supposed to be.
I only had 4 pages, and none were blank. Maybe your two they put in a blank page?

We got our appointment date!!! February 15th!! We are so excited! If my appointment is at 10 am how early should I be there?
I believe the NVC, or I read someone say no earlier than 30 minutes prior to your appointment. I'm pretty sure that is it. I was planning on going really early so I could be in and out, but I was told/read that you're not suppose to do it. So I'd say be there for 9:30.
If its any different, anyone step in. I'm sure I just read it last week!

I found their website and here's the link:
http://www.panelphysicians.com/Pages/WhatToBring.htm
I believe it says you need valid identification and that's what you would use it for unless you don't have a driver's license or some alternative ID.
THANK You! You're awesome!

I have a question! I need to now book my medical, and I will be going to the one in Toronto. It says they require my Birth Certificate. Do they need an original copy of it, or just a photocopy? I will call them to confirm on Monday, but I was wondering if anyone knew! Thank you so very much!

Ahh so YOU took that spot!! >
VERY NICE!!!! Congratulations to EVERYONE!! ^__^

UPDATING! I know I just asked like a few posts back, but today I got an email for a February 10th interview! My husband arrived here for his weekend visit early, and I ran out to him crying with joy. God has taken such good care of us. 1 year and 3 months since start. Thank you for all your help!!

Hey I wanted to check in! I didn't get to read that far back in this thread. Any end-of-august filers got a date yet? (You know, the really lucky people?
)
I think it will come in the new year. I'm not sure. I'm praying I'll get a date in January. I don't mind waiting, it just stinks when you have no time frame.
And I'm so GLAD and HAPPY for all the interviewees who went and it worked out perfectly! I know I will be nervous as well, but hearing all the stories really helps!

A guy with a messenger bag and a guy with a backpack were turned away at the door when I was there and told to go put the bag away and come back. That was in august 09 though. I just carried my acordion folder and had a small purse about the size of a fanny pack and they pulled the whole thing appart to look at everything in it.
Awesome thank you! I'll be extra cautious!

You as the USC will be fine visiting Canada.
I was flagged in the middle of my Immigration process for the same reason your wife was. My husband still comes up every weekend and tells them he'll be here from Friday to Sunday night visiting me, his wife. They let him in and out no problem. He's been doing it for 3 years now, and he knows 90% of the US border guards now. They always know its him, and they speak pretty on terms with him too. He's only been pulled aside ONCE in the past year on the Canadian side coming into Canada. He said he was visiting me and the officer wouldn't let my husband explain that I was the one trying to Immigrate to the USA, not him to Canada! Once he got inside he just told them and he left within 20 minutes.
You'll be fine! The one who is immigrating is the one who gets flagged. If anything happens, you'll be an hour later than planned at max.
Be calm, and ALWAYS tell the truth. Keep something from your job with you. Like a swipe card, or some bills. It can always help if you are ever stuck in a sticky situation!

Wow super good luck to you! MEdical Medical!
Also a question for everyone. The US consulate says that you cannot bring in big bags. I have a tote bag that holds two binders with all my photocopies of forms from throughout the whole immigration process. (USCIS to NVC) Would that be considered a big bag? It's holding all my paperwork that I need to bring. Has anyone else brought in a tote bag?

While I was on a US visit visa in the States, My husband got me on his BC/BS coverage, and it's 160 biweekly more for me to be added on. (health, Eyes, Dental) I thought it was a perfect rate since I had gone to a doctor once before I was put on his plan and it cost me almost 300 dollars for one visit. I get sick a lot more frequently than my husband. I'm back in Canada again waiting for the interview now though.
But my husband has a very low rate bi weekly as well because he goes in for medicals. We get a wonderful low rate because neither of us drink or smoke at all (never have) and that we're not overweight/obese. People complain why it's so high for them, but those kind of factors give a higher risk of you needing to be taken care of! (Plans covering their own butts)
And yes, I am Canadian, and I hate it when people think our health care is 'free'. It definitely isn't. You pay about the exact same as you would in most places in the states as you would in Canada in taxes.
Get a job and get covered. Then you wont have to be worried about costs.
It is most DEFINITELY worth 300-400+ dollars a month to be covered.

You haven't waited for nothing and you aren't doing anything wrong. For IR1/CR1 cases we still wait for an assigned interview date from the consulate and there's nothing you can do to move it along faster. The K1's can now schedule their own interview dates via the website after they are told to do so and the CR1/IR1's can change their interview date if need be via the website, but that's it.
Oh my gosh. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. You have no idea how hard it has been to be at work waiting for an answer. You have given me the most brightest news. Thank you VERY much. My heart can now be at a HUGE ease. T___T

http://travel.state.gov/pdf/supplements/MTL-SUP-ENGL-0008-1009.pdf
These overlapping immigration departments seem to be very disorganized, duplicating information inconsistently and even offering some of the same services without communicating with each other or making it clear to us how things work. I am very used to it now and have come to expect it after more than a year of wading through this madness!
Wait a second. I never knew of this. On that website you linked right there, it says you need to APPLY for an interview? You do not just get given one after waiting? Please don't tell me I've been waiting two months after the NVC receiving my final forms for nothing. I never read anywhere that you had to apply for an interview at the Montreal Consulate. I thought you were just eventually told a date.
Oh. My God. Please someone help. Please tell me I'm not doing this wrong and I've waited for nothing. I haven't received an RFE yet either. So thats good, right?
(Doing CR-1, DS-230 + rest of stuff August 25th. They received it August 27th)

I didn't meet my now husband on WoW. I met mine playing Ragnarok Online. Surprisingly he was just over the border. 4 hour drive. Very perfect!
I was a Priestess, and he was a Priest in game. Haha oh wow! It's been 7 years since we first met on the game! Friends for a few years, then he asked me out 3 years ago, proposed last year, and married by the end of last year!
I'm going to have to say, Immigration is a much bigger pain in my rear than it is getting to level 99 on Ragnarok Online!

I mailed it out, and it arrived two days later! I'm surprised how fast it was from Canada!
Actually I went in, and they told me that Xpress post Canada finally has delivery confirmation right to the Addresses door. It had just started this service the previous Tuesday. I'm so happy. Thank you again for all your help!

Ok I'm relaxin! I'm going back out now. Thank you for easing my weariness. Amazing people!

I printed out both the different cover sheets, and they're both the same address to be sent to:
I-864 AOS:
National Visa Center
ATTN. CMR AOS
31 Rochester Avenue Suite 100
Portsmouth, NH 03801-2909
And mine, DS-230 IV:
National Visa Center
ATTN. CMR
31 Rochester Avenue Suite 100
Portsmouth, NH 03801-2909
I was just getting confused as to the NVC's Address/LingChe's address to send my stuff to.
I should just send it to the addresses given to me when I printed out my Document Cover Sheets correct?
(Yes, I am glad I came home. I do not want to mess this up when it's so close. Thank you again for any and ALL help!)
-
I got paranoid right before I shipped my items out and ran back home!
I printed out my Document Cover Sheet from the NVC, and on it it tells me to send my I-864 AOS and my DS-230 IV documents to:
National Visa Center
Attn. CMR AOS
31 Rochester Avenue Suite 100
Portsmouth, NH 03801-2909
Yet on LingChe NVC shortcut and on the NVC Contact information page, it's said to send them both to:
National Visa Center
ATTN: CMR
31 Rochester Ave. Suite 100
Portsmouth, NH 03801-2914
Lastly, on Google Maps, it states that the Portsmouth location is actually in:
32 Rochester Avenue.
Newington, NH 03801-2901
I think the biggest thing that scaring me is the last four digits of their ZIP Codes. All of them are different, and I have no idea if it will be sent to the wrong place if I input the wrong last 4 digits.
I know I am being very paranoid, but I do not want my paperwork lost. I do know though that the I-864 has ATTN CMR AOS, and my DS-230 IV is just ATTN CMR.
Thank you for any and all help!

Oh thank you! Yes it really helps out a lot! Thank you!
I understand about the A# now. I will put in NONE, since I have never had a status in the USA.
Thank you again!
-
Awesome! For question one, I read the sample one, and the guy just put down his university. But since I never went to any extras, I will just write in my normal schooling. Thank you!
For two, I made copies of the card and stamp I received on my I-94A visit, and I will attach them
For the third, I wrote a page explaining why I was refused at the border, and what happened afterwords. Thank you very much for your input! I really appreciate it!
Anything else would be grat as well. Thank you very much for the reply! I'm almost done!

Hey guys and gals! I have a few questions filling out my DS-230 form.
I am the Wife trying to Immigrate to the USA.
On page 2, Part 33. It says for me to list all educational Institutions I have attended. Is this just Universities/Colleges? Or does it include my High, Middle and Grade school?
____
Also, for Page 2, Part 35. By visits does it mean just visits by VISA? I have visited the states many times for 2 weeks at a time throughout the past 3 years. But I also visited in November 2009 on a 'I-94 A' , the returned this July 2010.
Also on my I-94 A card I received at the border before I crossed, I do not see an "A" number on it. Would I put NONE into the field beside the type of visa?
Here is a picture of the card I was given when I crossed.:
(Is there an A# on this?)
___
Last one! On Page 4, Part 42, I don't think there is enough space for me to write in the reason why I was refused into the states. Or could I just keep it basic like this?:
"I was refused because the border thought of me being a possible immigrant because of my relationship status with my now husband, and our wedding was in three weeks from that date we tried to enter."
Thank you for any and all help in this! I really appreciate it!

Is ExpressPost Envelope still required for Montreal Consulate???
in Canada
Posted
Double posting:
Also Adding on, that website says:
All Nonimmigrant visa applicants must pay the Nonimmigrant visa application processing (MRV) fee prior to scheduling an appointment.
I don't know where to go about doing this, unless I just wait and pay at the interview.
Also, I am doing the CR-1 Visa, is that a fee of $140 USD? Just confirming! Sorry I ask 5000 questions as well!
