  1. Thanks Greg and Rebecca&Phil, I appreciate your kind words. I know it'll come through eventually (hopefully sooner than later) and I know I will have the "whew" moment then right after that, the running around jumping up and down moment.

Anyway, I'll be sure to post up as soon as I hear anything at all.

    Thanks again everyone

I hope everything turns out ok. I'm sure it will :) we got our green card in the mail yesterday it was 9 days after our interview. I'm sure you will get it before the 12 days.... sending some prayers your way, or karma ;) whatever you believe in.

  2. Thanks Gregg,im ready for the interview but what annoying is my EAD never arrived though i recieved two notification in the mail last December. I tried to call the USCIS but i couldnt follow up my case cuz it always says i entered a lacking digit. Its been over a month for that EAD grrrr.....I hope its not a big deal if i dont have EAD to show to the IO on thursday. Cant wait this things over and oh its pouring rain outta here in honolulu...

I wouldn't worry about it, just explain what happened to the IO, mine didn't even ask to see the EAD. When I would call USCIS it would always tell me I am missing a digit so I instead began to choose the option where it says I don't know or don't have my case number and then get transfered to a person and give them the case number.

  3. Hi guys,

First and foremost good news my husband and I were approved on Tuesday and I am receiving my conditional green card. Whoooo!!!!!!!!!!!

now on to my question. My husband was kind enough to be the sponsor for my brother, he married a US citizen. However, my brother's wife does not meet the income requirement which is why my husband is helping out by being the joint sponsor. We are trying to fill out the I-864 form and we know that both my husband and my brother's wife have to fill out the I-864, she as the sponsor and my husband as the joint sponsor. Where we are confused is part 3 it asks "are you sponsoring the principal immigrant above?" my husband chose yes. However, what does my brother's wife choose if her income does not meet the poverty guideline, does she still have to fill everything out as if she were sponsoring. or does she choose no? thanks for your help.

  4. Hi guys,

I had my interview yesterday in Phoenix, we drove down three 1/2 hours to get there. We waited for like fifteen minutes, the guard there was really nice and talked to us the whole time. The interview went by really fast in total he maybe asked like 3 questions, and just went over the application with us and verified everything. He then told us we were approved!!!!!!!! and explained the conditional green card. The year has started out great, the day before our interview I got a job offer at wells fargo and my husband and I finally moved into our own place. I didn't receive any email updates however, so I'm just patiently waiting.

  5. I graduate from the social work program in May!!!! I'm glad you found something.... Sorry i had not logged on, we moved this week and it was hectic!! Congratulations to everyone that received approvals. Our interview is Tuesday, but the only road leading from Flagstaff to Phoenix is closed because of all the snow we have received over 5ft and 3 different storms! The first chance my husband and I get we are heading to Phoenix. I will keep you guys updated.

  6. Congrats Djohn!!!!!!

  7. Thank you! Good luck to you too ;) I didnt put I was a permanent resident, thanks for the advice.

no IL yet.....but got an email saying EAD approval has been mailed..

Yes we both got an email saying our EAD approval has been mailed..

guys i have a question.... I am applying for jobs but when they ask me online am I authorized to work do I put yes? I don't want to get into some kind of trouble. I put yes since the next question was "three days after hire will you be able to provide documentation?" I figured I might get my EAD card next week( approved Dec. 11) and I will have it on time. What do you guys think?

if you are authorized then yes you put yes. Which is what you are. Hopefully it does come soon for you in the mail.

NEVER put on your resume that you are a green card holder, never show them your green card or anything untill you have the job! people have been refused jobs because they show green cards to early on in the job interview process. A lot of employers see a green card and think " oh god i have to sponcer this person to work here " which they DONT!

Good luck with the job hunt Moni, ill be starting soon too !

  9. Its the real deal!!!! Congrats. I would take a copy to be safe. I'm not sure about you being able to be interpreter someone will help on here with that. By the way you should join our AOS October filers thread. On there you will see many people are getting the intial interview letters and some have already got their green cards. Good luck

Hi all--friends in this WONDERFUL Forum.

So my spouse and I turned in his AOS in October (Oct. 30 to be exact, almost November so I've come to this thread). AND... we already received a I-797C Notice of Action saying:

"REQUEST FOR APPLICANT TO APPEAR FOR INITIAL INTERVIEW" FOR "FORM 1-485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR ADJUST STATUS"

    and it's in January!

What is this? is this THE interview that you have and then a few weeks later get your green card? or is this an EXTRA interview (the "initial interview" part makes me nervous) before the REAL interview just to get us to jump through more hoops? Anyone have a clear idea on this...? Should we we happy, thinking my spouse might get his green card in January if everything goes good at the interview? or is this a false alarm and really it's just an initial interview and the real interview will come at some unknown later date? I'm uncertain just because the time lines all say it'll take at least 7 months to get the interview for the green card, so I'm confused as to why it happened so quick.

We'd REALLY appreciate your thoughts on this, those of you who know and have been through this, thank you thank you!

PLUS: they ask for a "completed medical examination I 693" and "a complete affidavit of support form I 864" but that's all the stuff we turned in with the AOS application, so we don't need to bring it right? Maybe just a copy to be safe?

And can I as his spouse also be his interpreter? (sure hope so!)

    THANKS!

    Claire and Cristhian

  10. Hi,

I'm new around here and this is my first posting.

Yes she can. Anyone who is a LPR or a USC can be a sponsor or joint sponsor. I'm a LPR. My joint sponsor was a friend and later, I was my brother's joint sponsor as a LPR. :star:

My husband will be sponsoring my brother. He is married to a US citizen. My question is does my husband put my brothers wife as dependent or does he put her anywhere in application? I know she still has to file I-864 and my husband is joint sponsor. Where it asks for household size I know he puts himself, myself, and my brother. But what about wife? Will household size be 3 or 4?

  11. Congratulations to abbynorm1 and Stinkerpotsam on your approvals. 42 days after NOA for EAD or AP approvals is right on the averages.
