  1. HAVE A QUESTION:

Today morning around 8:30 AM CST my Mom and Dad received email from NVC (actually they replied to the email i sent when i emailed DS-3032 ). Here is the message from them...PLEASE let me know if anyone has received same message.

FYI..I mailed DS-230 last Friday and received by them on Monday morning...

    NVC EMAIL MESSAGE

    Good day,

Your inquiry has been received at the National Visa Center (NVC).

According to our records, your Immigrant Visa Processing Fee payment was

made on-line through the Department of State's website:

www.ImmigrantVisas.State.Gov, Fee Collection. You must now download and

complete the Immigrant Visa Application (DS-230) form and mail it to the

NVC in order to complete your immigrant visa processing.

Please visit the Department of State's website above to download a copy

of the DS-230 and/or the instructions.

    Regards,

    MAE

upon this information, and contact the sender as soon as possible.

Raj, this is the "reply" to your DS3032 email that you sent to NVC. They just opened your email today. As you can see, Processing of emailed DS3032 is so much slower.

By the time they opened/read your email, you had already sent the DS-230, which is not in the system yet. You sent the paper DS3032, and that was accepted much sooner than your email DS3032.

This is nothing to worry about. If your DS-230 was already in the system, it would have responded with something like "Case completed on ...., wait...".

  2. But how about her overstay? Her I-94 is until Feb 2010, but her mulit-entrance visa is valid until Aug 2010. If I apply now, maybe there is a chance for me to get citizenship bu Aug and apply for her. But she would overstay her I-94.

Will it be a huge problem or they usualy forgive this type of things?

they usually forgive, but do you really want to put your mom through illegal stay? by the way, laws may change too...

Not only that.. if she gets caught overstaying her visa before you naturalize, she will be deported and may be subjected to a long term ban - even if you become a USC later.

  3. status: PAID, and then i printed my cover sheet. i click on the "applicant document processing instructions" and won't let me. anybody please give me the site where i need to go after paying the $400 bill. thanks in advance

It takes up to 3 business days for the NVC to process the payment. The link will only work after the payment is done processing.

AAron.. it has nothing to do with the payment status. Besides, OP already mentioned that the payment staus was PAID and had already printed the cover letter. It has been a common occurrence for the link to not work. It is a generic link to a page that describes what documents are needed - not dependent on payment status.

  4. have already sent the i-864 pkg and nvc got it about 1.5 weeks ago - ds230 pkg were sent last friday and have not received by nvc yet but will in next couple days

i have a question - i just checked the AVR message and it said there is some info missing on my case and letter went out on 10/20 - please submit this info to nvc at your earliest - so i pressed 0 to get to operator to find out what is missing and operator looked at my case and said there is nothing missing in i-864 pkg - i told her about AVR message telling me conflicting message she said it may be because the DS230 has not been received - has anyone experience this? do I expect an RFE or once DS230 pkg is received, the message will change?

    That's a standard process.

  5. After submitting my DS-230 on the same day I got a letter about the missing ds-230.Do i need to resubmit the documents. I already sent my originals or should i just send copies of the form ds-230 OR ignore until they receive and process the ds-230 i sent?TIA

Don't worry about it. Once they get it into their system, it will say "The NVC has received the checklist letter response on ..."

  6. status: PAID, and then i printed my cover sheet. i click on the "applicant document processing instructions" and won't let me. anybody please give me the site where i need to go after paying the $400 bill. thanks in advance

Do you have all the documents that you need to send with DS-230? If you have them, you can just send it to NVC along with the cover sheet.

  7. I am wondering if anyone knows the timeframe of 2 items: 1) time between receival of DS230 pkg and case being complete at NVC and 2) time between NVC case being complete and Interview date/email

If all the required docs are submitted and NVC doesn't need to issue RFEs, then about 2 weeks from DS-230 receipt to case completion. From that to interview email is about 1 week.

  8. Can someone tell me if parents will need some kind of police report saying they never been arrested/jailed, etc. If so, where it has to come from? Should my parents request it? Does it have to be in the sealed envelope for me to send it to USCIS? How long the report is good for? Thanks.

Assuming your parents will do consular processing in Russia...

    Police and Prison Records

Available. Russian law (MVD Order no. 965, dated November 1, 2001) mandates that the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) provide police certificates both to Russian citizens and to foreigners who have lived or are living in Russia. The law states that in Russia, MVD offices must provide the certificate within 30 days. Those residing outside of Russia, both Russian citizens and non-citizens, may either delegate a Power-of-Attorney to apply for the certificate on their behalf in Russia, or apply directly to the Russian Consulate. Police certificates should note all names that the person has used in Russia, and should note the MVD branches in all locations that were queried.

Federal and more serious criminal records in Russia are kept at the Main Information Center (MIC), while convictions related to minor offenses (interpreted as when the punishment was to to 3 years of imprisonment) are stored in the local police (militia) archives. Court records are generally available upon a request from the individual. Prison records are generally not available.

Under Russian law, a prior conviction is expunged from the MIC's databank after a specified period of time has passed following the completion of the sentence. For "grave" crimes the period is six years; for "especially grave" crimes it is eight years. Thus, if an applicant committed a grave crime and more than six years have passed since the completion of his/her sentence, the MIC will not show a record of this crime.

In the absence of a Russian police certificate, and when dealing with applicants who could have theoretically served prison time more than eight years prior to the date of IV application, key features to look for are knuckle tattoos. Russian prison culture is vibrant and unique; tattoos serve a role of establishing rank and status, and it is quite common for males to have served time in prison to have such markings.

  9. Hi everyone,

Due to MyMother's RFE for Original Marriage Certificate, I may have similar problem later on with NVC because my parents only sent me the "Certified" copy of this Certificate.

For anyone sponsoring for both parents, do you experience similar problem with NVC as MyMother when NVC asks for Original Marriage Certificate after submitting only the "Certified" version?

Note: USCIS never asked me for the Original Marriage Certificate.

    Please advise. Thanks.

Would you please tell me how it was "certified"? Was it a copy issued by the same entity that issued the original BC?
