  1. Seeking advice on whether or not my list is sufficient for Adjustment of Status interview.

My husband and I decided not to have a wedding ceremony as his family is very big and myself being an introvert, I HATE weddings (sorry if I offend anyone here). We also don't have a lot of photos ever since I moved to the USA. We also live at home so there's no lease contract or utility bill. So basically I feel like I lack all the important evidence to show our relationship.

This is my list right now so please let me know what you think!

    - My husband as my emergency contact for work

    - His work insurance with me as a beneficiary & as a beneficiary for his vision and dental benefits

    - A few photos that we have

    - Flights for two trips we've taken and our annual disney passes

    - Birth certificate for our son (feel like this is the only thing that can outweight wedding photos and joint leases/accounts)

  2. Hi all!

I know this comes up quite a bit and just hoping to get a second opinion. I filed on a K-1 Visa so I had a medical done prior to entry. I submitted my DS-3025 along with my AOS application in June 2017. Recently received notice for interview on December 5th 2018 *YAY*. Of course, my medical technically expire? But USCIS website mentions that, as a K-1, my medical is to be submitted WITHIN 1 year of AOS.

There's a lot of forums that says it's a hit or miss with needing a new medical, discretion of the IO.

Question...so should I just do the medical and get over it? Or should I book the medical for after the interview and get a RFE and submit the new medical afterwards? If I do get an RFE and submit my medical,  how long would it take to get my green card? (For those whose been in a similar situation)

I'm filed in California and I've waited forever for this interview.

    Many thanks for the help!

So you haven’t received a denial letter either? As odd as it sounds but I would call uscis again to verify the information you got from the first person you spoke with on the line.

If there was an interview scheduled that you didn’t attend, you would be automatically denied. I’ve never heard of someone being denied for a no-show getting the solution from uscis that they will simply reschedule the interview. It’s usually impossible bc you were denied. They usually tell you to file an appeal and a motion to reconsider.... this just sounds so strange!

Nothing received!! When I called I was checking on my status and that’s when the lady asked if I attended my interview in March. I said no as I haven’t received anything and shes like oh some people did not receive theirs and she made a service request for me. No mention I was denied. I also check myuscis account and it only says interview being scheduled since December 2017 and there was my service request case number. I am so confused...

Based on the font and the wording, it seems that you are using the old case tracking site, not the one @little immigrant mentioned. But I could be wrong...

Omg!! I just made an account using that link and it shows me that my interview is being scheduled since December 2017. Why would they have two different sites to login from? I googled uscis and used the first link! Will I be penalized since it IS actually on their website? (Though I was using an old one)

I'm curious. What does your case say when you login to https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov?

It’s been saying the same thing for the last year..

    Fingerprint Fee Was Received

On June 30, 2017, we accepted the fingerprint fee for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSCxxx. Our National Benefits Center location is working on your case. We mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address

You say the lady offered to reschedule, and that you will hear back in 30 days. It has just been a couple hours.

I understand it’s only been a couple of hours but there’s urgency to this, it’s a scary situation and I am really looking for recommendations.

I called again and I was told the service request was made but it is also dependent on the office. My case can be rescheduled or that my case may be closed. :(

  7. Hi!!

I was hoping to get some assistance and recommendations on how I should proceed. I called about my AOS status about 3 months ago and was told they can't provide me any information as the average interview time is about a year to a year and a half. I have my AP/EAD and I am currently working. I have continually checked my online status (NOT UPDATE!! It still says they got my biometrics on June 30th) and signed up for text and email notifications. Today, I decided to call as it's been a year since I have applied. I was told that my interview was actually scheduled in March of this year! The lady was very kind and offered to rescheduled but I hear back in 30 days. I also tried to schedule an infopass but the San Francisco office is NOT accepting any walk in or scheduled appointments right now!! What should I do? It's been over two months since my scheduled interview, will they close my case? I am so worried! :(:(:(

  8. I wanted to share my experience with everyone in Visa Journey, especially those waiting for their EAD and AP! It's been a SUPER frustrating process of waiting and not knowing :( I didn't get any RFE and I waited 161 days for my approval!!! (Check my timeline for more info)

Today, I CRIED! But it was happy tears!! I can finally (possibly) go home for Christmas!! Today, I checked my USIS online status, no change was made, still showing USIS received my applications as of June 29th. I decided to call USIS because my online status shows that I (supposedly) received a response for my second SR dated December 5th. The odd thing was I never received an e-mail so I decided to call in. The representative advised me that the response was via phone call instead of e-mail (odd because my phone shows no missed calls on December 5th). She couldn't tell me what the response was, but offered to make another SR. I, of course, would not want to wait another 30+ days for a response so I asked for a tier 2 representative. She transferred me and I was prompt to request a call back because the wait time was over 170 minutes to speak to someone. I received a call about two hours later, and I was told that my EAD and AP has been APPROVED and it's getting printed as of December 8th!!! Hopefully I can get it within the week or so!!! :D

It's definitely a long process and here are some of my tips to help with yours! This includes personal tips and tips from reading different forums!

    - Officer actually told me that their applications have tripled this year, so the wait is much longer :(

    - Due to the increase of applications, the online status doesn't get updated

-Definitely make a case inquiry if your case has been pending for 90+ days (mine took about 30+ days to get a response...my first SR was raised in September)

-I've tried to contact my congresswomen via e-mail but I never received a response - But make sure you try e-mailing them! They may be able to help!

-To get to a representative, dial the USIS number, then press 2 2 2 - It'll get you straight to a rep!

-If they decline to transfer you to a tier 2 officer, hang up and speak with a different rep!

-Try expediting your case - either through a job offer or financial difficulties

  9. I've submitted my AOS, EAD and AP together back in June. I've been getting quite anxious to receive my EAD so I can work soon. It's been 104 days since USCIS has received my application and I have already received my Notice of Receipt back in July and did my biometrics in August. I've submitted a case inquiry and was supposed to receive a response by October 10th, yet no response received.

My main worry is, can there be a chance that I received an RFE by mail but the mail wasn't delivered? If an RFE was issued, does this show on the online case status? I'm just scared that some reason, the RFE letter never arrived and I've been sitting around not knowing :(

Please help. I've been so worried lately that my application may be delayed...

  10. Hi,

I'm hoping someone can help answer my questions. I will be moving in April and I'm not sure if there's anything else I need to do. I'm going from Vancouver to San Francisco. My family is in Vancouver and I'm still planning to visit at least twice a year. Checking on CRA (Canada Revenue Agency), I would be considered as a factual resident. I'm planning to have strong tides to Canada after my move. Here's a checklist of things I'm planning to do before I leave. Am I missing anything else or does anyone recommend anything else to add?

    - Resignation Letter (Handed in already)

    - Booked flight (FInace will be coming to Vancouver)

    - File taxes for 2016 in Canada

    - Close Chequing Accounting. Keeping Savings Account and Canadian Credit Cards.

    - Parents will keep vehicle - It is under their name. I also live with my family so I don't have to cancel any utility bills besides phone bill.

    - Purchase insurance while applying AOS in U.S.

  11. Hello,

I received my NOA2 a while ago but I still have not yet received my Packet 3. I checked my case number on CEAC's website and it says Ready, and that I can schedule an interview.

Should I receive my packet 3 soon? I've been searching on information on Packet 3 but I've been getting mixed information.

What are the current requirements for Packet 3/4?

From the information I've gathered, I believe I need the following (applicable to me)

DS 160 (Some forums and website says DS 260)

    Valid Passport

Medical Exam (Will schedule once all paperwork is a go)

I-134 (Is it sufficient to provide only his tax return for the last two years, recent pay stubs and letter of employment from employer - is that enough? Or Should he go to the bank for the letter from the bank?)

Letter of intent by petitioner (30 days before interview)
    Two passport type photo
Further evidence of relationship (ongoing since I-129F)

We've never been married or convicted so I don't think anything else applies to us.

Thank you for all the help!! My Finance and I had been dating online for 10 years! (Yes! 10 whole years, we dated when we were very young so finance resources has made it difficult to move earlier)

  12. Hey guys!

I'm new to this forum. The reason why I've made an account is because I'm planning to move down to California to live with my boyfriend. We're only 20...so I know it would be difficult for us to file in forms such as the I-129F, since we both are still in school. But for him, I'm willing to give up my education here, and move down to the states with him!

A bit about myself...I live in Vancouver, Canada. I met my boyfriend through an online game three years ago, and became madly in love ever since. I've been visiting him every summer and winter vacation I can. But now, I've find it a hassle and have been started to miss him more than anything recently. So I'm planning to move to California next year. This winter break, when I visit him we'll go file in the I-129F form. I hope everything works out!

I'd like to thank everyone for their precious input of information on this website, because after reading many posts on the K1 Visa, I've got an understanding of what to do. It was such a big help viewing the guides and knowing that I'll be able to do things myself.

I hope that you guys can help me out, through my way to obtain my K1 visa and teach me everything you can about moving to a new country!

I have certain questions to ask...but I wasn't sure where to post them...so I hope you guys can help me out!

    Thanks a lot in advance!
