  3. I really need some good advice as to what to do.

On November 9,2009 my wife, Ngoc Anh Thi Nguyen was interviewed. After the interview she was given a blue slip asking for additional information. At the bottom of the blue slip it gave a return date of December 7,2009 to submit the information. On November 13,2009 all the requested information was brought to the Embassy and given to a woman at window 14. After the woman took all the papers, she said to go home and wait for a letter. It has been more than 8 weeks since the interview, and my wife hasn't received a letter.

When the additional information that was requested was given to the woman, she had told me that if I brought the information to the Embassy on December 7,which was the return date on the bottom of the letter, they would review the information that day and I would know the decision.

I have also tried to call to find out about the status of this and I was told if my wife was to come to the information window at 4 Le Duan, she would know the decision.

My wife lives in Hue, which is 400 miles from HCMC, and its not very easy for her to travel to HCMC to only be told they are reviewing the case and come back at a later date.

I arrived in Vietnam on September 11,2009 and have been living with my wife and children since my arrival first to accompany them to the interview, and now to await the decision of the Embassy.

I thought by December 7,2009 at the latest we would know the decision.I have tried calling the Dos, and Emailing the Embassy, and there response was :

"Our records show that we received submitted documents on November 13. Please note that resubmissions submitted at a time other than the date indicated on the OF-194 will be reviewed at a later date. Unfortunately, due to the large number of cases to be reviewed by our office, we regret that we are unable to provide you with a time frame in which a consular officer will reach a final decision on the beneficiary’s case. The beneficiary will experience delays in receiving a response from our office regarding the case due to the large number of cases pending review.

We will notify the beneficiary directly as soon as the review is completed."

I don't know what more I can do. Please help.

if you can get in the door ask to talk to a american. tell them you wont leave until you do or maybe you can make a appointment . Let them know your in vn waiting to bring your wife home. I think this worked for a few people here in the past. good luck

  5. Hello

I was wondering what it cost anyone that married in vietnam and what all did you have at ur wedding .What gifts did you have to get for the bride? My fiancee showed me a wedding cd of her cousin and it looked pretty expensive. She said a small wedding would be ok but i dont want to look like a cheap foreigner.when i ask her she just says a bowl of fruit and two bottles of wine.

Oh well, it's depend on both of you. How big do you want it? The wedding in VN doesn't cost alot compare to US. Our wedding cost $5000, including everything. 20 tables, and all the gifts that my wife bought for her family, and including all the wedding ring, photos, video, and etc.

$5000 is alot of money. Just ask yourself how much do you want to spend. from $2000 - $5000.

    Here is the number.

Wedding Restaurant = 20 tables = $2000, $100 dollar each table. Including cake, ballon, decoration, tips, beers, MC, and more.

Photographer, Video, Studios, AO CUOI, and LE in the morning at the brigde's side = $1000

Wedding ring, jewelry, gifts for her family, pig, bowl of fruit, and two bottles of wine and etc = $1000

$1000 just in case when you are short, or give to her parent.

Just ask your finacee how many tables does her family want?

    Good luck

    Loi and Suong

wow, thanks for telling me about that
