DS - 157 ? I didn't have that form on my PACKET 4 for my Visa through the Nicaraguan embassy.. I'm assuming I don't have to worry about it then?
-
Call them, talk to someone, and just ask. It can't hurt, they can basically say NO or to put in an application for it. I personally asked to be expedited due to military deployment of next year, and they expedited my visa. It took only about 2 months to reach the embassy and all I have left is to set an interview date.
What can it hurt to ask? You can always try to persuade em, but ultimately it's up to them in the end.

Ok good good. Well the hr block tax return has two page summary and the rest look like w2's with lines and numbers with the title "joint filer" or something if that nature.
As far as what you said I think I'm golden then with only providing the w2 of last year then and my passport. Awesome!

Oh and as far as the packet, this is what it says:
The beneficiary must have the Affidavit of Support (I-134) and the file income tax returns of the sponsor for the recent year, even if the sponsor does not meet the poverty guidelines. If the sponsor does not have or has not filed his/her incomes taxes, he/she will have to present a copy of the law excluding the sponsor from filing any taxes or a letter explaining why he/she has not filed the required tax returns.
If the sponsor does not meet the minimum required to support the immigrants and members of his household, he/she will need to obtain a second sponsor; the second sponsor will have to fill out an Affidavit of Support (I-134), include a copy of his/her U.S. passport, and income tax return of recent year.
Also a copy of my Passport alongside with it.
So as far as having bank statements, etc... I do not have to worry about it correct?

THANK YOU for your help !!
Well, currently I'm still in Basic Officer Leadership School (BOLC) and I don't graduate until September 30th. So as far as having a "REAL" CO I don't since this is "TRADOC" (schooling). However, I can wait till I graduate and get on post though to get this done, since I'm sure my fiancee still has to get all her stuff situated in Nicaragua.
Secondly, I received a copy of my W2 via H&R BLOCK since I E-filed it. Will this E-File copy be enough (and is this considered the Transcript)? It basically has my "E-PIN" signature of the copy as well as the W2 with all my info (I have the W2's as well to back it up). Anything else I need or should i grab another Transcript straight from IRS as opposed to this copy from HR BLOCK?
Thank you !!!

Hello Visajourney !!
I posted this previously in the wrong forum (K-1) instead of here where my packet is at the moment. Basically my question is as follows:
I am currently a 2LT in the U.S Army. In school, I make around 5-6k a month, and once I graduate on 30 Sep 2010, I go off into my unit at FT. Campbell making a bit less (I don't receive as much for housing since my addresses will be different now). I would basically make around 48-55k a year, not counting how much more I would make next year during deployment.
For the I-134 it is asking me for my Filed income taxes of the Previous year, as opposed to what I've been reading where you needed the previous 3 years? Secondly, my income taxes show that I made less than what my poverty line is (I was a college student with a small job and wasn't making what I make now).
Should I have a co-sponsor (mother)? Should I bring any documents displaying my military status and pay (previous pay stubs from the Army)? Any other tips, hints that you can help with?
Thank you!

Hello Visajourney world !! Well about 1 1/2 months later give or take, I have my packet 4 (or 3 whichever packet is given to you by the embassy at the respective country) and well I have to submit my tax return from only the 2009 fy.
My question is: I was a student and eventually unemployed when I submitted that 2009 w2 making only a bismal $7,000 or so, well below the poverty line. However, I graduated as a 2LT in the U.S Army back in August of 2009. I have now (starting June 2010) starting making well over 45k a year, especially with an upcoming deployment next year. I'm on this "Active Duty" contract for three years so I am guaranteed an income of well over 5o-60k a year.
Do I need a co sponsor? I'm pretty sure I need proof of my current active army status as well as pay, but any thoughts on how I should handle this?

I turned mine in originally in June but had it sent back to me due to the fact I used the wrong version of the I129-F form !!!... Anyways I turned it in July 6th and had the NOA on the 12th of June. Hardcopy on the 15th.

I would use those sites, but since I primarily use AA to book my flights to Nicaragua I always look @ the special discounts or perhaps special deals they might have on certain days. Check with your primary airlines website directly THEN cheaptickets/expedia, etc.. they give you a side by side comparison of all airlines.
Cheaptickets.com I believe is a rather good site to check... see if that works after you check your airlines website.

Oh ok well just making sure because they seem to have coded it on the right hand side and just ran a huge staple through the packet...ill leave it as is?
-
Do I also send back the rejection notice as well ?
-
Okay will do. The check was dated about 3 weeks ago and has all the stamps for uscis they haven't cashed it so do I just send in the check as well?
-
Hey guys I sent in my K-1 and it was rejected due to the fact the 129F was on the non-acceptable date (12/26/2006) or something of that nature. Now it was returned to me in the format of everything lumped together in order with a huge staple on top to attach everything. Every paper on the right hand side has a "coding" of sorts as if it was ran through the machine.
My question is as follows: Do I just replace that form (the outdated one) and return the whole package as it is?? Or should I just re-do the whole entire package from scratch (i.e scan/print everything again) ?? Let me know!
-
I filed too That's why we're friends, Vermont Service Center received it June 14th Still waiting for the check to be cashed, and then the NOA1, once that's good to go I'm calling the military line again to have them rush my visa! Wish me luck !!!!
-
well just called that military number, just for everyone out there, you cannot get it expedited till you have the NOA1 on your hands, I have to wait till then it could take 30 days !! buoooo
-
Thank you !!! So for sure its 100% I am getting deployed in January, I'm put in such a hard spot here... I cannot have her wait for another year and I feel as if that happens our relationship will end Please help me God with this visa I am going to call to see/have it rushed since I am in deployment status.... I swear I will do anything to have her here as soon as possible !
-
Check that I just read it. That's horrible... way to get delayed even more at this point in time. I hope they really don't take much longer than necessary. They (USCIS) haven't posted anything new for forms or addresses correct?
-
Thank you Thank you! I need to call that number to rush my visa since I have an 80% chance of deployment but these classes have been taking so long to get out (1800 or so).
About that Transition thing, if you say its from April-May why would it affecting my June date?
-
Oh man!! I read somewhere we can simply hand write it. I wrote it to fit in the little box. I hope nothing bad will happen to me because I did that... It's perfectly legible and I did type it all on the 129F actual form, it was just the G325A that had the problem.
-
Thank you Chazie appreciate it, hope it goes super smooth as well ! anyone have any clue about the check? I see people getting NOA1 in 6 days ! and day 4 is upcoming yet the check = no cashed
-
:*( Day 3 and the check hasn't been cashed yet :/ is this normal ?
-
Thank you everyone for your kind words Yes I was wondering about the NVC thing jajaja sorry about that I will update that.
I just found out today though from my ex that ft. campbell is deploying end of this year !! I hope her visa gets approved and I will definitely call that number to try and expedite the K-1. This sucks! She finally has a chance to be with me soon and now I might get deployed already, just my like
Edit: Sorry you guys dont know my situation: I'm currently in BOLC (Basic officer leadership course) for logistics as a 2LT, and I will be going straight to Ft. Campbell on October 1st, that's 4 months without seeing my fiancee, and from what I've heard (word of mouth) I will/might be sent to NTC (National Training Center) right away and then get deployed, which is why I am hella worried now she won't get her visa approved in time for us to be together already !!!
-
Thank you! I hope so too! I've been looking at the trends for Nicaragua and they have some short times (82 days +) for Visas !! Man I hope I get that lucky !

Well true, my message though is just call and find out, it takes maybe 15 minutes to get an answer once you get past the machines
