Me and my wife applied for CR1 immigration visa, till now things seems to be going well but i got so much worries about what to expect after receiving the passport.
I read that the visa got expiring date !!!!!
Will i be allowed to work?
Will my engineering degree be accredited in USA??
Am i allowed to come back to Egypt again ?
Also, next August it will 2 years since we got married, what is " Remove of Conditions ", when to do it? and why even do it ??
Thank you for your help.

I sent the package including the I-864 and the other required papers, and received the interview date today.
I was wondering, what should i have during the interview, what kind of paper and evidences. What kind of questions should i be expecting?
Thank you in advance.

Good afternoon everyone,
Me and my spouse went to the embassy and made first interview on the 23rd of September 2009. Received the package 1 week later, but i didn't send it yet, almost 8 months went by. Hopefully i should be able to send it this week God willing.
I asked the embassy what is the time limit to send the package back and they replied:
Please note that you need to send the packet of instructions as soon as possible to enable us to continue processing the case.
Seems ok, but i heard that i only had 4 months to send it back, is it true ? Did i miss the chance ?
Thank you for your help.

If you don't mind me asking another question, I wrote the police record in Arabic and English.
Is that all they need?
And about the medical exam, would it be a problem to finish my papers if i had hepatitis A 9 years ago?
Thank you for your help.

I was wondering do i send my passport ( applicant's passport ) with the I-864 and the other required papers.
Also, how do i send the papers, do i put each required paper in a clear folder then put them all in a plastic folder ?!!
Or, do i just put them in order and staple relevant papers together?!
Thank you for your help.

waiver??
they took blood sample from me, i guess that should be enough to show that Thank God im healthy?!!! Am i right?
Thank you for help.

I had my medical exam and i was wondering, would it be a reason to be rejected because i had Hepatitis(A) 9 years ago ??
Thank you for answering.

I have a sponsor for the I-864 whose income is sufficient for support. However, we are confused on the following issue:
The sponsor is married and his own income is sufficient for support, however he and his wife file taxes jointly. Do joint tax returns necessitate both individuals to sign? Her income is not needed to meet support requirements. How do we detail the sponsor's sole income when there is a joint return? Are the photocopies of W-2 forms clear enough for that purpose? Does his wife need to sign an I-864A due to the joint returns?
We appreciate your prompt reply

Is there anyway to finish my immigration papers without having enough money to do the I-864 form??
Can My Wife ( American ) use me or my mother as a sponsor, if yes can me or my mother sponsor my wife with a flat ( 50,000$ ) or it must be cash ??
Thanks.

I'm Egyptian and I've applied for immigration ( i'm married to an American )
The embassy sent me first packet in October and they needed certain papers from me to send back to them.
-why didn't i send the papers back to them yet? Cos i didn't finish the Aff. of support paper yet.
Will my application will be canceled cos i didn't send my papers quickly ?
-Military paper ( i have it in Arabic, i went to translate it and the answer was that it can't be translated and the authorization to travel should be enough )
Does anyone knows if that is acceptable by the Embassy or not ?
-My wife she back to America to give birth and be with her family, Is there anyway i can be with her while she is giving birth in mid February ? If i have no time to complete the papers needed in time, can i apply for a tourist visa to be there through birth ? ( i was rejected b4 by the embassy when i wanted to see my wife's family when we were engaged, cos i didn't prove ill come back ).
I really hope someone can help.
Thanks a lot.

Hi,
I hope this topic is in the right place...
My husband and I are just beginning the immigration process and would like some clarification on a few details if anyone can help.
We had our appt. for submitting I-130 at the US Embassy here in Cairo and everything was fine (we were nervous as heck!) A week later we get our
packet for step 2. When we got the package from DHL we noticed my husband's name was misspelled. Apparently the English translation of his name on
his passport switched the position of 2 letters. *sigh* So, we reckon this needs to be fixed NOW (right?) But this will take a month. My first question is
filling out step 2 time sensitive? I mean is there a time limit here? I didn't see anything saying so. I figure we can resubmit his copy of the passport only
since EVERYTHING ELSE is correct. Or is there a special form for correcting information?
In step 2, they have asked for the police report, military service paper and a copy of his birth certificate, do we need to translate all of that to English?
My second question is about the affidavit of support: IF I get a co-sponsor does the $900+ fee need to be paid AGAIN? I realize there is a fee, but do I
pay for my support paper and then our CO-SPONSOR pays ALSO? I am unclear on this... That's a heap of cash either way!
Thanks alot!

CR1 help
in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures
Posted
hi,
thank you for the answer, but i got another question if u dont mind.
i have been already got accepted by the embassy and im waiting for the passport, they said within 10 days. Should i do the remove of conditions when i go to the states or my wife can do it starting now ( you said 90 days before we continue 2 years ).
And, after the visa expires, i should go back to my country, right? But if so, then ill have the same problem, i would be here and my family there.
thank you for your help.
