  1. I filed in May for my fiance. I believe those in my situation will go at least 15 months. So I go back to the Philippines and visit my soon to be family, (she has a daughter I will adopt). I'm leaving on November 30 and will stay for 45 days. I would rather visit there, then wait for 15 months or longer to hopefully see them. The money i spend is worth every dime.
  2. Best to consult a local family lawyer. And pay her a bunch of money to sign the papers to let the child go.
  3. You can petition for a child later, stating that the BC was messed up and couldn't be filed at that time. Going though this with my fancy right now.
  4. Going through this right now. Get an attorney and get the BC changed immediately. This will take like 6 months. And it will cost about 50,000 PHP. And probably a DNA test will be included in those costs. After that you can refile for a change.
  5. We plan on getting married when she gets here, but i have already filed the K-1 visa. I would lose money to start over. And where would I be able to get married outside of the RP?
  6. Because my Ex=wife from a decade ago, was married to me in the Philippines, I am supposedly still married to her, although I am divorced long ago in Idaho. And it will take a year or more to get the "divorce" recognized in the Philippines. Courts there take forever.
  7. Yeah, but her daughters was set as my finace's parents being the parents. She thought she was going to die and had no money. Young person giving birth and not sure if she will live or die. So who knows. She's near GenSan and knows only lawyers. Don't know how else to do it. Suggestions? [e-mail address removed]
  8. I filed the I-129f in Texas. But he NOA 1 says the address is California Yes, but timelines being what they are, I have to figure for far into the future months.
  9. Yes, she is still there in the Philippines, waiting. I filed in May for I-129f and have the NOA 1. I know it will take many months to get the visa, but the timeline for the Philippine courts can run from a year to 2 years. This is why I am asking what the timeline for the green card is, because everything might come together at the same time. And she might have to fly back to the Phils after our marriage and before the green card is issued.

  11. Okay folks, we have to do some things in the courts in the Philippines to bring my fiancé's daughter here, I.E. correction of birth certificate, which can take a year or more. What I need to know, since my fiancé will have to stay in this country during the wait for the green card, is how long does it take for a green card to go through after filing? I'm not finding the answer here. I filed in Texas, but the NOA 1 came from California? I kind of need to know a timeline so she can be back in the Philippines to be in court. I am in Idaho.
  12. That is a great idea and we will do that right now. Can't believe I didn't think of that.
  13. She was never married, as he abandoned her as soon as she got pregnant and fled the country. Typical Pinoy. And yes I think a DNA test would be a great idea. Because my "divorce" from a Filipina a decade ago was never recognized in the Philippines, I am going through that nonsense to get it straightened out on me, so we can't marry there.
  14. Okay, I tried to make the original story shorter. Really, it is A's daughter, but she was very sick at the time of birth and she also had no money and no income, so when they filed the BC, late, her parent's names were put on it because they had insurance. She knows it was a stupid thing to do, now, but daughter N is now 13. So we are going through a lawyer to get this straightened out, but it's going to take a year, according to the lawyer. And yes, the family confirms that N is A's daughter, and they are trying to help all they can. A, later went to college and became a teacher. She never thought she would ever marry, so wasn't too worried. Now we have to pay the piper.
