What is AVR and how does it work? I'm hoping that we call 603-334-0700 on tuesday since monday is holiday. When calling, how do I get my case? I think it should by our I-130 receipt number right?
One more question, what is the time difference to give them my email address and my spouse email address from time of getting a case number?
Thanks.
The AVR is the automated message system that you go through. It will ask you to press '1' for this or '2' for that... Follow the prompts and you'll have your case # in no time. Someitimes, however, the AVR is not updated, so it's best to speak with an operator as they have the most current up-to-date info on your case
Yes, you will need your I-130 Receipt number for this.
As soon as you have your case number, you get speak with the operator and give them your email addresses!!
Good luck!
What she said ^^^^

I hope no also, My husband and i are 19.
Pshh 19.... hehe
Haha I could see the Immigration Officer going all parental on me...
"Now, Mike, you are quite young. Are you sure you want to go through with this?"
"You don't know my life, SON!"
-
I hope not. I'm 22, my wife is 24. I seriously don't think so Sachi. I've seen successful applicants that are 19!!

Dude, how backed up IS Ghana?
I know, right!?

Yes, I can imaging with HA that the age thing would be really aggrivating! Mine was 1st Engineer and Staff Chief... I tried one contract as karaoke host and hated it! Being a professional passenger (aka, officers wife) was not bad, but I was really BORED!!! It was fun the first say 5 years together, the last 4 going onboard was getting to be torture! We had been on 17 of Carnivals ships... Got to see a lot of nice places and I met some really great people from all over the world, the Crew bar is like the UN with LOTS of booze... lol....
This year was the first New Years not onboard in like 6 years for us! I do miss the crew parties!
As 1st engineer, I can understand why he did it for 14 years! I take it he started off his career on the ol' cargo ships?
Wait, how many years had you been doing the Wife onboard thing? I can definitelty see how it would get boring. But I'd love the fact that there's no In-port manning (IPM -shudder)!!
The UN hahahahaha... I think it's more like a night out in Thailand or Bali hahaha
I MISS US$0.95 CARONAS!!!!!!!!
-
Hey, what did ya do onboard??? What line? Just curious as my hubby just left Carnival after 14 years... I tried one contract and hated it!!!
I was a fitness director, she is a singer.
We were on board Holland-America, the "beautiful and elegant" MS Maasdam... right.,..
14 years. Wow. 8 months was enough for me. But I was working with 70+year olds 12 hours a day 6 days a week. Not the most exciting gig for a personal trainer hahaha. I will gladly go back on as husband on board with my wife if she chooses to do another contract

I strongly suggest that the USCitizen prepare an 'evolution of relationship' letter, and the foreign spouse present it on Interview Day. Have it notarized, either in the USA or at the Embassy during American Citizen Services appointment.
Good idea!

YAYYYYYYYYYYYY I RECEIVE THE EMAIL AND ALREADY EMAILED THEM THE ONE THAT I HAD IN THE DRAFT HAHAHHAHAHA..TOMORROW MORNING I WILL SEND THE HARDCOPY JUST IN CASE...
YAYYYYYY
When my wife and I were working on cruise ships, we visited Dominica quite regularly! I remember swimming through the fresh water cave to a waterfall where pirates of the caribb was filmed. I love Dominica!

Can't you just imagine Jesus working at NVC though. I mean, it's an obvious reason as to why NVC is moving so quick.
I can just imagine him sitting at a desk, complaining about the daily grind, banging photocopiers that don't work, sending out RFE's and waiting for lunch time break

I'm sure there are a lot of people who went down your track and decided against a party per se. You also have sufficient evidence over the course of 9 years to prove a legit relationship IMO.
Personally, I would have had the musicians and politicians pay for my wedding. "IF YOU REALLY LOVED ME, YOU'D PAY FOR MY WEDDING"
Also, take into conseration those of whom have met online a week before getting married and still approved!!!

Do we need to send the choice of agent by mail or emails is just as good?
E-mail should be fine.
Apparently, you sometimes receive an auto response to say the email has been received. I didn't get this auto response, so I tried from another account incase it had something to do with spam as it was from my hotmail account. Still, nothing. So, I sent it via regular mail and it got there yesterday. I also received e-mail confirmation that they received my e-mails yesterday.
In my opinion it doesn't hurt to send e-mail AND reglar ol' skool mail - just in case

Good Day:
Your inquiry has been received at the National Visa Center (NVC).
The NVC has received the Agent of Choice selection. The Immigrant Visa Application (DS 230) processing fee bill will be sent to the designated agent on the case. The fee must be paid according to the instructions before the instruction packet will be sent.

Jesus

We'll pay the IV bill on Tuesday when I arrive in the States and hopefully send off both packages wed/thurs!
90 days to receive case #? haha I would have gone insane by that stage!!
-
Also, how come consulates are asking to see 09 tax returns for the petitioner? I find that confusing as it is never stated that it must be present at the interview.
I mean, if NVC accepts the AOS package then.... ??
-
Mike! Where are you? My DS3032 (the one I sent on 02/05) got accepted. That means your must've as well.
Folks--what's Priority Date? I got an NVC email with my case number, category preference and priority date. My priority date is dated before my NOA1. It's confusing.
Sachi!! I got 2 e-mails yesterday on separate accounts that I sent to the NVC! One was signed by Jesus
As for the priority date, I too have this in the email. has this been answered yet?
-
Mike--Did you send in your AOS packet yet?
No, not yet. Next Tuesday when I get to the US we will
-
man, the IB bill takes its time... I'm guessing 3032 has to be reviewed and approved firstly??

If you go through the AVR, all you need is the USCIS I130 receipt number
When you speak to an operator you need:
-USCIS I130 receipt number
-Petitioners name and date of birth
-Beneficiaries name and date of birth
