  1. On the topic of RFE's, if you have more than one, do they all have to be sent together? I ask, because our RFE's were in regards to my Wife's I-864 and my police criminal check.

On the email we received from the NVC it said to send them allllll together. However, the police want to send my fingerprints directly to the NVC, but that package won't have the I-864 with it. Does that make sense? Anyway, can 2 seperate packages with the same RFE barcode be sent?

    Package 1:

    RFE Receipt

    I-864

    Package 2:

    RFE Receipt

    Fingerprints

    Thanks in advance

  2. Good morning ... it's Sunday. My package was delivered on 26th March ... yay. Finally. Husband sent his AOS overnight on Thursday but for overnight delivery. So now we wait. :star:

Fingers crossed for anyone waiting for CC and interviews.

Congrats. I'm aiming for a June interview now. I am sooo over the process. It's a good thing I'm head over heels for my Wife, otherwise I'd say, 'meh, whatever'

  3. Mike--Have your wife file taxes for 2009. Then use the photocopies of the signed returns, W2/1099s that she may have.

Her current income is whatever she is earning. (Say $1000 a month=$$12,000 for the year)

For the last 3 tax info, fill whatever is there on the W2.

    For example:

    2009--$20,000

    2008--$18,200

    2007--$19,000

Thanks sachi! I just passed that info onto the Missus.

What is the signed return? Is that something she sends when filing? I'm sure she knows what it is, just clarifying for me peace of mind!

"Her current income is whatever she is earning. (Say $1000 a month=$$12,000 for the year)" Funny thing is,thats what we put, and it came back wrong haha

  4. If my wife were to file her latest taxes this week, how long would it take for her to get the evidence of those taxes being filed?

I ask, because we've hit yet, another snag in the process.

One of our RFE's was in regards to my wife's income on the I-864, not matching her lates W2 or tax transcript. Her W2's are from this year, yet, because she hasn't been in the country, the tax transcripts are from 2007.

Which income to we provide on the I864? The sum of all CURRENT W2's? Or the income from the latest (2007) trascripts?

    thanks in advance

  5. Cheers for the quick responses. I guess my main concerns stemmed from hearsay stories of people waiting 5-10 years for citizenship (which was a while ago). However, it seems like a pretty quick 6 months-or-so ordeal!?

Alex-and-astrid, Totally understand... Hope I didn't come off too greedy

Thanks Canadian Wife, I'll be sure to check that link!

  6. I am about 1-2 months off receiving my GC through marriage, and I know that I will not be able to apply for Citizenship for at least 3 years. However, due to my line of work (Law Enforcement Officer), I was wondering if there would be any other way to apply for Citizenship before the 3 year time as most Law Agencies will not allow GC holders to apply.

I understand it being a long shot, but would hate to put my LE career on hold if I can help it.

Of course, we all make sacrifices to be with the one's we love, and if this happens to be another sacrifice, then so be it :)

I thought I'd just ask the question anyway to see if there is a chance, at all

    Thank-you for your time

  7. Hey!! Glad to hear from you!

We were all wondering when the "relaxing" would take a break! :P

Sorry to hear about your RFE. Try to send the missing documents off as soon as you can. There is still hope for you to get a May interview. Your wife and mom can send their papers out, then NVC can start reviewing at least those.

Good luck to you my friend! We have all been gifted with a RFE this month

I sent off their 864 forms with the original tax transcripts... i thought i made photocopies of the transcripts, but obviouslyt not, so they can't really fill in those forms until they get new transcripts.

My wife is going through a lot right now as she is performing in two shows as well as working a full time job so for her to find the time to get on the phone to the IRS to fax out the transcripts is seriously asking too much. So we'll have to do the paper form 2 week version.

My police cert shoulkd take about 2 weeks as well. still possible for a may interview, but i'm preparing for a june haha

  8. hey guys n gals!

Well, I'm back in Australia from a 4 week stay in California with the Wifey. We had an absolute blast of a time. There wasn't s moment when we weren't doing SOMETHING.

Needless to say, we did a bit of "relaxing" I think I may have even mentioned the time the police rolled up on us while we were 'relaxing' haha anyway, another story for another time.

Seems as though I have about 210 pages to catch up on so, I won't be doing that! Although, I'm sure everyone's case is coming along as smooth as possible.

Ours is coming along, in the sense that people are at least reviewing it. We did, however, receive our RFE's yesterday. Each of us (Me, Wife and Mother-in-law) received RFE's

My RFE was a silly error -> I sent in the wrong type of police certificate. I have had my hands on a visa before when I used to work on a cruise ship. The police certificate required for that was the same as the one i just sent in for CR1. Obviously that was the wrong one, so I have to go to the police station sometime in the next week and organise a new one to send over there...

My Wife's RFE was in regards to her I864. The W2's and her 'current income' didn't match up. Again, a simple mistake as we estimated her current income for this year. she didn't have a w2 from last year as she was here in australia with me.

My mother-in-laws rfe was in regards to the sponsors section on the 864A.

So, basically, we just have to send off another I864 and I864A as well as the appropriate police cert. I think this is going to push us back to at least a june interview!

    Ugh...

  9. I did a search on this topic, and found what I was looking for, but when I clicked on the link, it redirected me to the visajourney home page. Not too helpful.

    Anyway...

I'm under the impression that it is possible to have the transcripts faxed, instead of waiting the 2 weeks to receive the paper copy.

    Is this true?

if so, how would one go about sorting this out? I'm assuming you cannot do this through the automated phone version?

    Thanks in advance

  10. LMAO!!!!! You know you're losing touch with VJ when the pages go from 8 ----> 40. No, I don't think I will catch up on the past 32 pages. However, I'm sure you'll be seeing much more of me when I get back to Aus.

Just passed over the half way point of my trip to California. Having a great time with the Wifey.

We were relaxing in the back of the car at Mt Baldy last night only to have the police roll up on us as we were getting ready to leave. So romantic hahaha

But, thats a story for another time, in another forum!!

    :thumbs::yes:

And, by the looks of your signature, everything went well at the interview!? Congrats!!!!!

    Anyone else need a congratulations??
