  1. I don't want to sound like whining again but for the nth time, my fiancé has called the NVC and the operator said that there's no record of our case yet. My fiancé received the NOA2 hard copy on August 28 and it has the date August 25. I have observed that most, if not all, cases with the same NOA2 date as ours are already in their respective embassies.

Is there anything else that we can do other than waiting? If things moved the easy way as the rest of the cases did, I would already have my interview in the first or second week of October.

    FAE :luv:

Yeah, same here. I've checked the time lines for nvc confirmation and it seems that there are a lot of people that are still waiting to get a response.

  2. OMG - we are approved..3 years and, it's finally here..To all those still waiting, it will come --- I PROMISE.....The happiest I have been in years

  3. If we don't want Russia putting Missile sites around our Country... we shouldn't put them around theirs.

U.S. scraps missile defense shield plans

    art.shake.afp.gi.jpg

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The Obama administration will scrap the controversial missile defense shield program in Eastern Europe, a senior administration official confirmed to CNN Thursday.

The U.S. has been testing the ability of ground-based interceptor missiles to hit long-range ballistic missiles.

The comment followed similar statements from officials in Poland and the Czech Republic -- where key elements of the system were to be located -- but was the first confirmation from an American official.

Vice President Joe Biden earlier refused to confirm to CNN that the George W. Bush-era plan was being shelved.

But he did explain the logic of doing so, saying Iran -- a key concern for the United States -- was not a threat.

"I think we are fully capable and secure dealing with any present or future potential Iranian threat," he told CNN's Chris Lawrence in Baghdad, where he is on a brief trip.

"The whole purpose of this exercise we are undertaking is to diminish the prospect of the Iranians destabilizing that region in the world. I am less concerned -- much less concerned -- about the Iranian potential. They have no potential at this moment, they have no capacity to launch a missile at the United States of America," he said.

Biden said he is "deeply" involved in the review of the missile defense program. See how the system would work » | See a map of the proposed sites »

The Bush administration had cited the perceived nuclear threat from Iran as one of the key reasons it wanted to install the missile shield in eastern Europe.

The U.S. reversal is likely to please Russia, which had fiercely opposed the plans.

Is the U.S. right to scrap plans for a missile defense shield in Europe? Sound Off below

A U.S. delegation held high-level meetings Thursday in both Poland and the Czech Republic to discuss the missile defense system. While the outcome of the meetings wasn't clear, officials in both countries confirmed the system would be scrapped.

Czech Prime minister Jan Fischer said in a statement that U.S. President Barack Obama told him in a Wednesday phone call that the United States was shelving its plans. Fischer did not say what reason Obama gave him for reconsidering.

A spokeswoman at the Polish Ministry of Defense also said the program had been suspended.

"This is catastrophic for Poland," said the spokeswoman, who declined to be named in line with ministry policy.

U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates and Gen. James E. Cartwright, who is vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, are scheduled to hold a news conference Thursday morning. The Defense Department has not announced what will be discussed, but Cartwright is the point man for the missile defense shield program.

Poland and the Czech Republic had based much of their future security policy on getting the missile defenses from the United States. The countries share deep concerns of a future military threat from the east -- namely, Russia -- and may now look for other defense assurances from their NATO allies.

"At the NATO summit in April, we adopted a resolution focusing on building a defense system against real, existing threats, i.e. short-range and medium-range missiles," Fischer said. "We expect that the United States will continue cooperating with the Czech Republic on concluding the relevant agreements on our mutual (research and development) and military collaboration, including the financing of specific projects."

By contrast, Russia may view the move as a diplomatic victory after complaining about the program consistently for years.

There was no comment Thursday morning from Russian officials. But the issue has been a sore point in relations between Washington and Moscow, with Russia believing the shield would ultimately erode its own strategic nuclear deterrent.

With the program scrapped, it opens the way for Russia to join with the United States in taking a harder line on Iran, CNN Correspondent Matthew Chance reported from Moscow.

    advertisement

The United States proposed the plans under then-President George W. Bush, but since taking over this year, the Obama administration has been reviewing whether to move ahead with them.

The missile shield issue came up in July during a meeting between Obama and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev in Moscow. Obama maintained that Russia had nothing to fear from such a system, which would be designed to intercept a solitary missile from Iran or North Korea, as opposed to "a mighty Russian arsenal."

lol, introducing politics to visajourney :hehe::(

  4. Hokay, finally calmed down enough to take some time to make a post.

Got my Visa handed to me by the Embassy staff last week Thursday after handing over two missing forms and waiting for an hour in the lobby.

I was so happy I walked out of there beaming and smiling. I think that if I grinned even more my head would've fallen off. :D

So yeah! Counting down to October as my fiancee will be flying to Belgium so we can leave together to the States. I'm glad this part is all completed and done now.

Good luck to all of you who are still going through the procedure. Stay strong and don't lose hope.

    --BaWa :)

    Nice!!! Congrats!

  5. Well...

I call this morning to NVC and they still have not gotten my case... ... so I cannot get my NVC case number... which one of you who got their NOA2 approved last week... has your case already at NVC???

Hello eltemp, same here I just called the nvc just a few minutes ago and they stated that they haven't received it and to allow two to three weeks after the notice date. However, looking at the time line data it seems that a few people have already received nvc confirmation but a lot of September noa2's still lack nvc confirmation.

Congratulations!!! ....Aya&John - may the rest of the K-1 process be swift .... ;)

  11. Even though I didn't pray for this I will always thank him :innocent: . I've submitted the K-1 before actually discovering this website and have started to believe that I have forgot something or didn't provide enough evidence. So I was somewhat expecting an rfe but hoping for the best. I'm currently at work checking the USCIS website and here is what I've discovered:

    Receipt Number: EACxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Current Status: Approval notice sent.

  12. Sorry about the delay in updating here. My 7 yo daughter was hospitalized on 9/9/9 in the morning locally and then transfered to the childrens hospital by ambulance about an hour away for a severe Asthma attack. She is recovering and we finally are home today. I checked my status this morning on the USCIS website and it said that we have approval as of 09/09/09!! What a great thing to come back to!!

Good Luck to the rest of June and beyond in getting your NOA2's too. :)

    WOW!!! Congratulations!!!

  13. Ok guys, I'm a tad confused.

I just got the petition for approval which is listed as valid from 9/9/2009 to 12/9/2009.

    This is the text:

    "

The above petition has been approved and forwarded to the listed consulate. Please contact the consulate with any questions about visa insurance or if you would like them to forward the petition to a different consulate. The petitioner can also file form I 824, Aplication for Action on an Approved Application or Petition, with this office to request that we notify another consulate of the petition approval for visa processing purposes. THIS FORM IS NOT A VISA AND MAY NOT BE USED IN PLACE OF A VISA.

When the person this petition is for enters the US based on this visa, he or she will be admitted for ninety (90) days in order to marry the petitioner, and based on that marriage file for adjustment to permanent resident status on Form I-485. The form to apply for adjustment can be obtained at any local USCIS office or USCIS forms center. Please attach a copy of this notice to the adjustment application when you file it.

If the petitioner and the fiance do not marry within these 90 days, status will expire, and he or she will be in violation of the Immigration and Nationality Act if he or she does not depart. An extension cannot be granted. It is requested that the petitioner inform his or her local USCIS office if he or she determines that the marriage will not take place within the 90 day period. Please attach a copy of this notice to any correspondence about this case.

    "

So - what does this mean exactly? Ie my thoughts were that the english consulate will get info and we'll have to do all that, etc - but it says we have to get married within the 90 days listed (til December). Donna is here in the US with me right now til October, so I imagine she'll have to go home and then come back?

    Thanks

    Congratulations!!!

  14. Helllllo Everyone!!

    HERE IS WHAT HAPPENED:

I USUALLY SPENT TIME (BEFORE GOING TO SLEEP) PLAYING VIDEO GAMES OR BROWSING THE INTERNET...........THIS TIME, (AFTER KNOWING THAT SHE MIGHT BE GETTING HER MEXICAN PASSPORT SOONER THAN EXPECTED) I BEGAN TO PRAY AND ASK GOD FOR STRENGTH AND FORGIVENESS....(I DIDN'T PLAY THE VIDEO GAMES OR ANYTHING ELSE, I FELT VERY DIFFERENT). I WANTED TO SPEND TIME WITH GOD, AND I WAS READING THIS PSALM: 120- 1. I call on the LORD in my distress, and he answers me. " -THROUGH PSALM 121.

THEN WENT TO SLEEP.............................THIS MORNING.......I CAME TO WORK........CHECKED MY EMAIL------------AND THE APPROVAL WAS THERE!!!!!!

THANK YOU GOD FOR ALL YOU HAVE DONE..........I KEPT SAYING.

TO THE VJ FAMILY AND OTHERS......CONTINUE TO BE PATIENT AND PLEASE ASK GOD FOR STRENGTH AND FORGIVENESS. (I RECOMMEND READING PSALMS).

WE WILL CONTINUE TO KEEP YOU UPDATED. THANKS TO EVERYONE.

    MAY GOD BLESS YOU.

    Congratulations!

  17. Hi Everyone,

I have finally sent in the I-129F for me and my fiance! I was a total nervous wreck checking everything last night. I hope we don't get an RFE and go straight from NOA1 to NOA2 quickly. Fiance can't wait to be back in the states and I can't wait to have him back :) Thank you everyone for your help with my questions. Wish us the best!!

The California Service Center is really pumping out Noa-2's quickly. Also I've read notes from a former IO that posted on here that stated that if he received a packet that looked like a lot of effort was put into it, that he will just go through it and approve it as long as everything is in order (instead of placing it in the corresponding 6month bucket). This may also be the reason why you see some get approved very quickly. Good luck on your journey!

  18. Notified via e-mail:

On September 10, 2009, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. . .

I am too excited about getting any kind of action on this thing!!!

Now I'm just waiting for NVC to pony up.

I need to find or form an NVC support group while I get myself in gear for this part .

    Speedy journey to all!

    CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!
