Wohoo! Sept 1 is being process. I hope tjhis is a good sign that they are working on sept files already. I wish ours gets approve after thanksgiving! Happy thanksgiving everyone!
ahhh... now I undertand! HoneyBaby, I thought you were one of the first 2 September couples approved last week (since we couldnt see their profile).... I couldnt understand why you were depressed!
Yes, I hope they put their head down and try to approve all of September before the holidays! It would be such a relief and a great reason to celebrate!
Im one of the early sept filer but i havent got my appeoval yet. Im jst being impatient - i was expecting my noa2 early nov but its end of nov already and i still havent get it yet.
isn't it frustrating!?!?! according to the timeline estimates I should get mine next week and I REALLY hope that's true!!!

Not to sound like Im never satisfied... but I was hoping for a downpour of NOA2s.... like we couldnt even keep track for there were too many!
yeah... its kinda pitiful actually... my lovely lady is flying in in exactly 9 hours and 12 minutes and I really wish we could have had some extra special news... ohh well!!! I'm just happy I get to see her again!!!!!!

so back to Panda Watch day 75 (aka the visa journey)
Wow. it's kind of amusing and ironic that you say it like that! I have an iPhone, and as such, have a countdown app sorta like the countdown in my signature. What makes this so ironic is that the wallpaper I use for it is this:
(looking at that makes me realize that I forgot to put my phone on the charger last night. BLAST
)
I had to actually sit and count...I'm not fancy enough to figure out how to have a countdown thing! I busted out a paper calendar! I'm kickin it old skool
that's awesome!!!!!
ohh and apparently we've had our first September NOA2 on Igor's list.... could this be?

On my own, I try to do things that feel constructive towards my move there (like sorting through my stuff). Also I take classes with activities that truly distract me. While Im so focused, I stop thinking about how much I miss my fiancé and about all the stress that comes from the process. Great escape...
Matt finally got a webcam, and it has changed everything. We get to actually hang out together. Often at night he will watch tv while I read my book, and we both have our computer next to us. I love hearing his tv in the background or his silly laugh when there is something funny on tv.
We've had drinks together on Friday nights (it did feel silly at first to be toasting to the computer, but it's such a fun night!).
We've also tried to watch movies together, by renting the same film... but it is tricky to sync so you don't hear an echo.
Of course it not the same as being together and holding each other, but I love our evenings together. There's something really comforting about them.
When you got to watch a movie or TV show together what I've found helpful is use Skype, but then plug in headphones... so you can still hear the show and each others reaction but you don't have to be 100% perfect when it comes to syncing the timing... every week we watch the shows that we have in common, this is some good quality time where you don't have to worry about coming up with new topics of conversation, you just relax and watch TV together (we have a website we go to, www.surfthechannel.com for all of our TV shows) it's wonderful!

I love the twin cities!!! I'm lucky I'm going to be 1.5 hours East of them so I'll get to visit them all the time...
so back to Panda Watch day 75 (aka the visa journey)
you know how I was stalking the government website, the whole time we've been waiting this week they've shown 0's across the board, well I'm proud to report the fact that they are now showing data again, and HOPEFULLY that means they are going to ROCK out and send a bunch of NOA2's very shortly!!
one can hope right??

ohh and jkminney I'd love some fresh baked goods!!! LOL... maybe when we're all in the US we'll get together and have bake sales for the CSC medical marijuana fund.... we can help others who apply after us not have to go through the wait like we did... we'll just make all the adjusters high and give em a stamp that says approved and for every puff they have to approve one application...
seriously I think we could do some good in the world
Well I've got my list of things I need to pick up for my bakeathon but I didn't include hash for brownies. I am goofy enough without having to enlist the help of any drugs! I'll tell ya what you cross the border with the hash and I'll make the brownies HAHAHA! Good luck and don't be callin me to bail ya out because I'll say I'm sorry I have NO idea who that person is
Speaking of that...funny story...Johns dad bought a van off some fella years ago and unbeknownst to Johns dad the van was stolen. So he was pulled over and the police arrested him and they brought him to Johns house and basically said to John do you know this man? John responded No I've never seen him before in my life! HAHAHA! They took his dad to jail. My mom would have killed me!
Oh that's AWESOME!!!!

I had my AOS interview on Tuesday morning and it was pointed out that they needed my long-form birth certificate. I had submitted the only birth certificate I have, the wallet-sized card, but because it doesn't have my parents' names on it, they won't accept it.
I received the letter today giving a 4-week deadline of Dec. 17th to submit the document. So (having heard back from somebody who is eligible to be my guarantor), I submitted the application online for the birth certificate.
Now my worry: the province doesn't make any guarantees about service times, if it's being mailed internationally. If one submits online and it's being mailed within Canada, they guarantee it within 15 business days. If I take that guaranteed time (ignoring the fact that it doesn't apply when the birth certificate's mailed to the U.S.), and work forward, I get Dec. 10th. Which is a little close for my comfort.
Is there a procedure to extend the deadline? If so, should I pre-emptively request an extension now, or should I wait to see if the document arrives in time to meet Immigration's deadline?
P.S. I wish they wouldn't use such black-and-white language in their notices "You have until December 17, 2009 (4 weeks) to submit the required documents or your application will be denied."
What province are you from??? as a different poster already replied AB was really quick getting it to me.... They also told me 20 days, and I too got in less than a week...

Do yourself a favor, read the books... they are well done, the movies, not so much...

And if you all insist on harping on about illegal immigration, perhaps it would fit you all better to take a good, long hard look at yourselves. "Illegal" immigrants wouldn't come to this country if there weren't plenty of unscrupulous American people willing to hire and exploit them with cheap wages and long hours.
I would be curious to see the numbers of people who work illegally vs. the number of people who work with fake documents. As the OP stated many times "Taxes are taken out of their checks"! If they are getting taxes taken out of their checks, then they are likely using false identification, correct? Therefore, there are probably as many businesses getting duped as there are jerks who hire for exploitation purposes.
I also find it quite amusing that the comments keep getting made that only Americans are oppossed to illegal immigration. I have quite a few British friends who have made A LOT of the same comments stated here in regards to illegal immigrants in their country. This is not just an American issue. Illegal immigration happens world wide.
I personally understand people who try to make a better life for themselves. I generally don't get wound up about it until 1 or 2 things happen. I can assure you that some of the assinine bills and laws that our political groups have passed in regards to illegal immigrants are some of the things that will get me stirred up. Free college education for illegals? Natural born American citizens don't even get that....COME ON people!
At the end of the day in a perfect world everyone would try to immigrate legally. Since it's not going to happen, we as a people should call our Senators and voice our opinions on the laws we do and do not want to pass instead of wasting time on a forum arguing with someone (OP) who has done nothing but degrade the intelligence level here, incite argument, and continue to visit in order to harass.
what a great way to sum it up!!

you know... this website is just so boring now without Igor's list updating.... there really isn't much happening that makes me get up in the morning and makes me want to check it
HEY CSC WOULD YOU WAKE UP ALREADY SO WE HAVE SOMETHING TO DO!!!!
Sheesh... people... so insensitive !!
It's true that for a while it was my first thought when I woke up in the morning. I'd be so excited to go see how many approvals there had been the night before.
Now... not so much. And yet I cant stay away.
it's like a sick addiction...
One would think I have nothing better to do.... not true.
sure....

So you think that is not true?? You are delusional. Just because your SO is an illegal don't expect any sympathy here. Go hand out with other illegals who most likely will understand your position. This website is for people who are honest and trying to LEGALLY get their loved ones here.
First of all I don't give a damn what u think.
Second of all I can post any where I'd like.
Third of all I don't want your dirty sympathy.
Fourth of all COMPRENDA?
Quick question: why are you still posting here if obviously the majority here does not support your cause? I think the time and energy you are using to post things here, could be put to good use at other weibistes where they support your position. You mentioned that you only speak to "positive " people and prefer to write positive things. Based on your last posts all you've have written are things to either ridicule or put others down. Seriously, I think your energy is better spent posting elsewere, unless of course you like the adrenaline rush of arguing with people. You know you are not going to get people here to agree with you, so why waste your time? It's just a suggestion from one medical professional to another (since you said you work in the medical field).
Also: comprende is spelled with an E at the end, not an A, unless that's it's a slang or something I'm not aware of.
Well put!!

Actually I do have sympathy for bsmerelda and for the plight of "illegal" aliens in this country. Since when did one person on this board have the right to speak for everybody?
And if you all insist on harping on about illegal immigration, perhaps it would fit you all better to take a good, long hard look at yourselves. "Illegal" immigrants wouldn't come to this country if there weren't plenty of unscrupulous American people willing to hire and exploit them with cheap wages and long hours.
Hatred of illegal immigrants, I don't think I said HATE anywhere. I follow the law, I guess that makes me charmed too.Well, I'm very sorry to hear about your sister, but I fail to see what her illness has to do with the debate we're having here. All of us, rich or poor, black or white, will experience death in the family at some point, but that doesn't mean we have struggled just to put food on the table for our families, as have many illegal immigrants.
And, yes, there is a lot of implicit hatred and racism on this board. There has already been at least one particularly nasty post about so-called "greedy" Mexicans. If that ain't hatred or racism, then, well, I don't know what is.
I too have sympathy for bsmerelda and everyone else faced with the problem of illegal immigrants rights, but sympathy does not equal forgiveness/acceptance.... every issue that an illegal immigrant faces is based upon their choices. The choice to enter a country illegally, I'm not going to pretend that I understand what they go through to get to the point of making that decision. I've seen first hand though the living conditions the poor have to face, not only in Mexico, but other foreign countries as well, and I do not wish that upon anyone. But the idea that we should simply allow them to go to the US to get papers simply because it's easy is not a viable option.
I would agree with you that a major part of the illegal immigration situation is the fact that there are American business men and women who provide these cheap labor options to illegals, tempting them to have to make the choice to live in fear, working well below the minimum standards set in place. There should be more punishment put on those people, it's really slavery done all over again, because if they the American gets caught, they can shrug it off, whereas the illegal immigrant (I won't simply say Mexican, as that is racist) is deported and their lives are shattered. This can not continue, but the answer to the problem is not simply as blanket of forgiveness thrown on all... there should always be a process of immigration that the person must go through. There are reasons for it, we can not simply allow anyone to cross borders, we have enough issues with our own homegrown criminals (white, black, Hispanic, doesn't matter...) if we open the borders, statistically, the criminals will come too, causing there to be a whole new set of problems.

Amen you two!!! AMEN!!!

Well a week has gone by and not a single person approved from VJ. Date has moved back about 10 days now
I see that VSC managed to get a couple people approved....Maybe the people in California are just too laid back. It's all that "medical marjuana" they are all smokin dope and eating munchies and not focused on anything other than them moving their hand back and forth infront of their face thinkin wow.....this is trippy.
LOL!!! don't panic just yet!! VSC has only approved two in the same time!!!! Although I do like your medical marijuana theory....
ready for me throw another curve ball into our wait?? American Thanksgiving is next week... that means they'll be shut down for a few more days! aren't I the bearer of good news
OMG shut your face! Just Kidding!
I was laughing at myself this morning thinking about them all sitting there with their bongs and someone yelling "puff, puff, pass" hahahaha!
I actually don't mind them being shut down for Thanksgiving as I will be partaking in some pumpkin pie, way too much cool whip on it, the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and probably about 8 movies thanks to Netflix! John will be experiencing his first Thanksgiving...he'll like it...the man LOVES to eat!
LOL... I'm sorry!!!! hahaha...
I do love that idea though of puff puff pass.... they could turn it into a game... like musical chairs, or should we say musical marijuana... if you don't get the bong, you've got to go approve a packet, then you get another chance for a hit off the bong.... believe it or not I think approval numbers would start to soar!!!
Enjoy your first Thanksgiving John! I myself am flying my American fiancee up here to visit me in Canada during American Thanksgiving, as I myself the Canadian went to America during Canadian Thanksgiving

Can I just remind everyone that NO one country is responsible for the illegal immigration problem in the USA. Please do not continue to single out any one country or make blanket statements.
Tay
Visa Journey Moderation Team.
actually the only country we can blame for illegal immigration is the US. if they had had stiffer rules in place those people trying to get across the borders, whether it be from Mexico or the odd person that comes from Canada, then they wouldn't have this issue.
People generally blame the Mexican's for being the issue but that's not true, not every person that slips across is Mexican, but that's where they are going. I don't hear a lot of "illegals" slipping in through the Canadian border, but I'm sure it happens, we just don't hear about it because the numbers aren't as a high as the Mexican border.

Yes, I'm not here illegally...and I'm also white, highly educated and fairly privileged which is precisely why I'm able to apply for AOS in the first place.
WOAH! that's a racially loaded comment! I understand your previous comments that you've made and I most definitely see your point.... but why do you need to play a race card? why do you need to make a "white" comment???
there are hundreds of people with different ethnic backgrounds that are going through the immigration process not just rich white people
I'm white and I'm offended by this comment, I can't imagine what someone with a different ethnic background would feel!

I'm one of those early september filer, but still havent gotten my NOA2. damnit!
can't wait... looks like we have to adjust the wedding date... ohhh NO!

Umm Canada??? Were the hell is that? Isn't that country the same as France....ready to surrender when faced with war????
umm we are the only country to successfully invade the US.... the White House is named the White House cuz we burned it and they had to repaint it! what color did they choose? white... therefor - white house!
