  1. Why, thank you for not forgetting about us! :) ... unlike CSC!

It seems like some of you will be getting married and we'll still be waiting for our NOA2. lol

Might as well laugh about it, huh?

Well, we havent reached the 5 month mark yet, so we are staying patient for a little longer.

Matt might call USCIS this week to see what they say... I"m not holding my breath.

I have a good feeling about this week though... This week might be the week!

I admire your patience Kizza! I really hope this is the week you get the good news!!!!!!!!!

  2. it's a little delayed due to the Olympics, but March 9th.

Just so anyone who reads this post at a later date knows.... I emailed the consulate and they told me it is perfectly fine to do the interview on a tuesday and the medical on a wednesday... just as a confirmation to what TimandJoyce said!

  3. Hello all,

I am starting to panic a little because I assumed my Canadian fiance would have her K1 Visa by April and no later than May, but I am now reading about the wait times for the consulate interview. She lives in Edmonton, Alberta, so she will be going to the Vancouver consulate for the interview, correct? I have been reading horrible things for the waiting time for Montreal and cannot find much information about the Vancouver office. I received the NOA1 on 11/2/09, and the NOA2 should be coming any day now. What is the typical wait time for interview to occur after the case is forwarded from NVC?

Through my ignorance thinking this would happen faster than I now realize, we have already scheduled our wedding arrangements for June 5

Any information about the length of the process from the NOA2 would be helpful. Thanks!

Hey just so you know there is a slight delay in Vancouver due to some unknown event happening there next month... its some new fangled thing called the Olympics... :P

I sent my info in 2 weeks ago and I've been given an interview date of March 9th. It most likely would have been sooner but I really didn't want to deal with all those people coming for the Olympics so I'm fine with that date. The consulate is very good at replying to emails! Take a look at my timeline for more info!

  4. No problem about a Tues interview and Wed medical! I did mine that way because I could only afford one night in Vancouver. What they will do is give you a sheet to say you have authority to come back the next day with the results and your passport. ( They will give that back because you need it for the exam) You will pick up the results of your medical at 2:00 pm in the afternoon on Wed., and bring them to the consulate.

The other nice thing, they will also let you know if you are approved pending medical, so if you already know you're healthy.. :)

The visa, however, still won't be issued until Thurs. If you can not stay that long, bring the xpress envelope to have them mail it to you. That's what I did. I flew back to Vancouver Island on Wed. night, got my visa in the mail on Fri. :).....

    wow...seems so long ago now....

edit. They can move it to Wed afternoon, however you still won't have the med results with you as you need to be there by 1:00 and the results are ready @ 2:00. You could be there for a couple hours or so, depending on how busy it is. The visa is still issued the next day....

Thank you so much!! It's comforting to know someone else has done what I need to do!!!

  5. SO... I totally goofed up and accidentally booked an interview on a Tuesday, Woking Medical only does appointments on Wed... So is it going to be possible for me to reschedule my interview to a Wednesday afternoon??? If so how do I go about doing so?

thanks for any advice you can give!!

  6. I hope your feeling is right Dain!

... do you have any credentials as a psychic? :P

I spent a good part of the night last night looking at how to get Matt here... another frigging headache.

Hey Kizza, I looked into immigrating a loved one into Canada from the U.S.... based on my findings it's really only possible to do it after you've been married... I know a guy who's done both Canadian and American immigration and he said that without a doubt it was easier to immigrate to Canada... just so you know....

  7. Ok, thanks, glad to know the department of state hasn't changed their reference format. Yeah! Thanks again.

Which Embassy is your petition going to?? Vancouver or Montreal? Because I'm going to Vancouver and I just got my package 3 letter last week.... I'm not going to set up an interview though for a little bit, due to the Olympics, but from my NOA2 to Package 3 it took roughly a month and that was through the Christmas/New Year madness... so not bad...

  8. Hello! I'm a newbie! =)

Congratulations to everyone who received their NOA2's! I'm happy for you =)

Unfortunately, I didn't receive mines yet. My NOA1 date is 9-10-2009. I hope I'll get it before Christmas! That would be the best Christmas gift for me!

    I'm so worried... =(

    Hey there!

    Welcome to VJ!

Well dont worry too much. It looks like they're just starting to take care of us.

Im sure it will come soon.

Kizza would you just get your NOA2 already!! JEEZ :P it's going to be before Christmas I hope! what a great couple of days for approvals! hopefully they keep it up! Anyways, I'm still here rooting for you!!

  9. I found this on how to track it from DHL hope it works please let us know.

    \

Hi brothers and sisters we all have that curiosity to know when our cases arrived at the embassy ,so i tried to find out how and it took me a lil while from what i been reading in some topics here they told how but when i tried never worked but when i just tried simple thing found it worked and got the track # and where is our files now just follow those simple steps and you will get to

1- when you know from AVR that your case was forward to embassy ( mm/dd/yyyy) lets take an example case forward to embassy March 20th 2009

    2- go to DHL TRACK

3- then under track list click on track reference

4- put the reference in this shape EXP19MAR2009A and push track

now we seen its completed in 2oth but we searched in 19th yes because they schedule shipping day before so DHL know in advance when they will ship it so day before will be your exact day for NVC shipping your case to your embassy

i tried it this way and worked but i found 2 cases to cairo so which one is mine dosent matter as along as i can keep an eye on it for sure the month will be changing just the example above for explanation

    Good luck all

    has anyone actually tried this???

  10. NVC doesn't log K-1's in their automated phone system. You have to press 5 to speak to a real person and then ask about your case. You're probably already out of NVC and don't know it. :)

DUDE!!!!!! Thank you! I would have just sat on my #### and not known!:oops::bonk:

Okay, so I called NVC today and found out that my petition has been forwarded. So..once CSC gets off their duff and hands out some NOA2s here is what to do: call NVC at 603-334-0700 about 5 days after your NOA2, press 1 for english, then 5 to be put on hold and wait. They will ask the case number WAC##########, your name and birth, fiance(e) name and birth. Then they will tell you if it is received and if forwarded onto the embassy. I am sure that someone earlier in the thread added this, but I just wanted to pass it along.

Does anyone know how to determine receive date to embassy? Do I call DOS for that? Okay..more waiting..

Thanks for that!!! I've been wondering how I can check where my case was!

  11. Don't apologize for venting. I think that is the main purpose of a forum. INDEED. Sucks that you can't share your anxiety and worry with your family and friends but we're all here and can sympathize/empathize better than anyone. My brother married a Philippine woman Sept 08 and they are expecting a new baby in February. Their K1 visa was denied (I don't know why; he and I are not very close) so he moved there last December. We were really excited to have her become part of our family. My mom thought that my brother would never marry and since Zoraida has three children from a previous marriage, mom lost her mind in happiness since she could hop into the indulgent grandmother mode immediately.

Konrad and I have been doing the LDR-thing for 12 solid years and whoa, howdy...not easy. On the one hand it's incredibly difficult when you have to be 'on' during that weekly phone call but on the other hand I'm confident we're going to make the best of our life together. It always amazes me that we are still such a great fit when we are together for all of the visits. I'm worried about the compromises needed for day-to-day living when he's here. I've become very used to my scattered schedule, my independence...I think I'll miss being independent most of all. It seems that getting it done all on my own has become a very big part of my personality and that cannot persist in a marriage. Also, I had been thinking about moving on to England after I finish grad school but he's said he'll veto the decision if he has a job he likes once he's working. Not looking forward to that point in life.

Wow 12 years!! Good on you! I guess I should stop whining! Hehe.

I think the holidays also add to the tension and feeling blue.

Matt is coming here in a bit over a week, after 4 months apart, and it wont be a day too soon. ALthough Im annoyed with him at the moment! ;) I know I'll get over all my frustrations the second I see him at the airport. I know 4 months apart isnt even that bad either compared to what other couples have to go through. But it jsut starts getting rough after a while, as you all know.

Matt was saying that this process is teaching us not to take each other for granted, and that hopefully in the future we can hold on to that lesson.

I hear couples fighting at the supermarket over stupid sh!t and I think, really, you guys are fighting over trivial ####### like that? If my man was here I would not be fighting over a bag a chips!

To those who won't get to spend the holidays with their loved one, try not to get too depressed and remember that it's your last lonely christmas and think of all the christmases you will have together, and how sweet it will be. That's what Ive trying to do with big dates, like birthdays etc.

Have any of you noticed the tension starts to rise just before a visit? That's the way it's been for me and my girl, we get more nit picky and well... nervous I guess right before a visit.... then we see each other and everything is fine again.... Just our observations....

I have actually. I wonder if it is because we managed to cope up until then, and you know you still have to manage for while, but now that it's getting so close it can't come fast enough... For us (or at least me) there is no nervousness about the visits. I feel like it's more like when you've had to pee a little bit and it wasnt so bad, but now that you see your house you wonder if you'll be able to hold it..... Not the classiest analogy but that's how I see it! lol

HAHAHAHAHA!!!!! that's an interesting analogy!!!!! :P

  13. We all knew since the beginning we would have a long waiting time.Being without the one you love is hard, and yes time seems to go even slower.

But seriously..there's no reason to get frustrated about something that small. We shouldn't have started this process in the first place if we have no patience and are jealous. After all,our day will come too.

Blah blah blah. Thanks Dr. Phil for your input :) I'll make sure I pass along those "positive vibes"

    whatever...

Everyone, please try to be calm. The last thing we need is for this to escalate and someone report the thread and have a Mod come in take away our "good thing" we have going. It's Friday, those Ba@#%rds at CSC need to get off their hands and get something done. Does anyone have any good news???

    LOUD NOISES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  14. Ok so this is how I see it going down. CSC has most of the staff doing other things now and only 1 or 2 people doing K1 but soon here( like next week nudge nudge wink wink say no more) they will all start on our K1s andd then we will all get our NOA2 in like 3 days and live happy ever after. Merry Christmas

I hope so you guys!!!!! I was really hoping to see a few more approvals this week... and while I am thankful that I got my NOA2 I still feel your pain... I was not a very happy camper last week when I was waiting.... keep holding on... trust me all of the frustrations will melt away when you get that email!!! It'll be soon!!!! then we can all share our experiences for the post NOA2 actions!
