  1. A&D it will all fly by for you now!!!

Driver, Congrats on the interview date that is great!

Maggie, I'm glad to hear things are falling into place for you. Check through your records you may have put in the request and they could've misfiled it.

Jenn, all of your traveling makes my head spin, I used to love traveling but I guess I'm getting old.

Kjenkins, you are right where everyone else wants to be!!! You'll have him home before you know it.

  2. After 3 visits to the embassy, and a bit of a bumpy road, I can officially say APPROVED! ***Said like the Target cashier on Saturday Night Live****

We had a 2nd appointment yesterday, and I got to be there for the interview. Fernando went back this morning to wrap up a loose end and officially gets his visa in hand on Thursday! I feel like someone just took a ton of bricks off my chest. Now, just to introduce him to the parents and get married 3 days later. . . .

    CONGRATS!!! :dance::dance:

A&D, congrats on the hard copy!

Jenn, keep your spirits up and take it one day at a time.

  3. Ughhhh...I am still in the clouds, but starting to prepare the things for my interview. Our embassy in Croatia, in my home city Zagreb, is well known like a very professional and I hope that I will not have a problems.

Plus I applied only once for turist visa (December 16 last year) and they approved me without problem.

I called today to check for the police certificates and a lady was so nice and gave me the whole information about all the papers I need and wish me a luck. She checked if I am already in the system, but I was not, so our papers are still on a way to the NVC.

It is nice to see Luis back here... :star: I am sure Luis you are sooooo happyyy... :star:

And Krystal...only 8 days and you are with Glenoi...wau...great!

Jenn...I do not have doubts that everything will be perfect with Fuat on interview...you are a strong lady and you will do all to help him. :star:

A&D, I'm confident that things will turn out just fine; you may even beat many of the others here.

Jenn, I know your worries well because we face the same possibilites, but the only thing you can do is to think positive, take a deep breath, and hope for the best. I truly hope he gets the visa on his interview date or at least the day after.

Yeah, Kjenkins your interview is approaching fast I know you are excited.

  4. Hi Everyone,

Sorry for my long absences as of late. I just got back from Brazil with Alice. I can't even believe that she is here, seems surreal. LOL

Anyway, just wanted to report a couple of things. I went to Brazil for the interview, I was so excited, our interview was on the 21st at 7:45am. We were in front of the Consulate at 6:15am (there was already a line). We finally got in the consulate at 8:20am. The first part in the consulate were workers gathering all the materials that needed to be taken, we then waited until about 10am when the Consul started interviewing. We were both very nervous. Then out of the blue through one of the windows the Consul officer was there waving at me, and turned out he is a friend of mine. Needlessly to say, I got interviewed by another officer, but I thought it was wild. My interview was quick and to the point. In 10 minutes we were approved. Afterwards we requested an expedited delivery of the visa (in Rio you are not allowed to pick the visa up, you have to use the courier service). Last wednesday we received the envelop with her passport and visa, as well as some sealed paperwork to give at the port of entry.

We came in via Atlanta, the officer was supper friendly asked 2 questions and sent us to another room. There another officer took the sealed envelop typed something into the computer checked a couple of things, and then handed her the passport and said that she has 90 days to tie the knot. Then we grabbed our luggage, and it was scanned by a huge machine, and then we were in the US. So no hassle at all. :)

    Cheers,

    Luis

PS: I will slowly catch up on the posts... But I am super happy!!! :D

CONGRATS!!! I'm soooo happy for you both!!!:dance:

  5. Kjenkins, I'm sorry that you are feeling so low; unfortunately it seems to be the norm on this crazy emotional rollercoaster journey. I can't even begin to imagine what it feels like to be the person actually going through this insane ride, but I know I would be on edge, impatient, and nuts.

I'm semi there and it's not even my journey.

What I've witnessed with all of you and my son....

    Engagement: Blissful

Filing Intital Papers: Step 1 Excitement

Waiting: Worry if it's made it.

    NOA1: YES, they got it

Waiting: Anxiety/Nervous what's wrong/when will it happen (and most of our group was pretty fast)

    NOA2: Extreme Excitement

    Waiting: Hope/Nervousness/Insanity

    Interview Date: PARTY

    Waiting: Tension/Anxious

    Package: Focused/Nervous

    Waiting for Interview: Ecstatic/Excited/Anxious/Nervous/Fearful/Tense

Visa: I can't even begin to imagine everyones excitement or the look on my sons face.

It takes a certain strength to endure this process, and my heart really does go out to each and every one of you.

  6. Goodmorning everyone!

Ney: how's your son & daughter in law, are they ready for interview? Does he know you joined this website for him and if so what does he think about? (I've been meaning to ask)

    Karen how's the ankle?

Jenn you must've been busy @ work yesterday because we didn't see you til late...

Maggie & Kayla are busy floating on cloud nine!

    Everyone have a great day!

*12 Days Til I See My Love & Attend Interview*

They are both very nervous because so many people are getting put on AP in Iran. My son knows that I am on here alot, and he appreciates all the knowledge I've gained since joining this site. I am the investigator of the family, anyone needs to know something, I'm the one that searches for answers  Even though my son hired a lawyer to help him; I can't help but investigate on my own. I'm funny like that I like, I don't like the fate of my family to rest in someone elses hands and be oblivious to what's going on. We are an extremely close family with each member having something to offer and I guess gathering information is one of the things I'm good at. I love the Internet and I think it is the most awesome resource tool that was ever developed. I'm a software developer as well as a web designer who is now retired to help my daughter with her children, and hopefully soon help my new daughter plan a wedding.

  7. Started off the morning to kind of a bad start today. My fiance went to have his medical exam yesterday, should have done it 3 weeks ago but that's a whole other issue, and he's got a thing for waiting until the very last possible moment.(something I'm going to have to learn to live with because I am a planner!) Anyway, he ended up having to receive every possible vaccination there is and it cost him hundreds of dollars yesterday. I really think just because he wasn't as well informed as he should have been, he might have gotten scammed a little bit. Also, he forgot his passport and has to go all the way back to capitol today too and then again tomorrow because I'm flying in. Somehow this is my fault.I need to vent! I just don't know exactly what I'm venting! I think the stress is getting to us even though we are so close now. Grr.

Anyway, second interview is Monday, and I'm more frustrated than excited.

    Good Luck on your interview!!!

  8. Maybe it was the chicken's foot for Thanksgiving dinner that did it :)

LOL, that would do it for me too!

There is a direct flight to Jamicia from Memphis so we went last summer and it was beautiful. We went for a dune buggy ride in the villages and had sooo much fun playing with the local kids. KJenkins, it's great that you will have family there and get to visit often after the AOS.

Due to my son's work schedule me and my husband are going to meet my son's fiance in Amsterdam and fly into Memphis with her. We want to go several days before her arrival and explore Amsterdam for a while. The kids have decided they want to get married in front of a waterfall in the Smokey Mountians and honeymoon at disney world. I love the Smokies! We are all hoping for a late March wedding. We are praying she gets her visa during her interview because there are so many people getting put on AP from Iran, some have been on it for a year already.

    Here's wishing for a great day for A&D!!! (F)

  9. 12 year old got a bad grade, so his mom makes him kill his beloved hamster with a HAMMER. 12 years old! She should be beaten with a hammer.

And then there's the 350 pound girl that killed her boyfriend from sitting on him.

But the hamster thing makes me want to cry. I'm watching puppy cam like crazy now so I wont....I love animals wayyy too much.

I agree someone needs to beat the mom with a hammer. That woman does not deserve to have children or animals in her life.

  10. I'm not pressing charges.. Only because he knows where I live, what car I drive etc.

I'm just scared that I might regret pressing charges. Another reason is that the system is f***ed up. NO detective have contacted me since I got robbed, matter of fact NO DETECTIVE have been assigned to the case and it's been 2-3 months. If I do decide to press charges, they'll find him, lock him up, he'll post bail snd a court date will be set umpteenth years from now... Thus leaving me vulnerable to anything that he might think of doing to me for revenge.

So I rather Be safe and broke instead of dead and broke!

Unfortunately. the law doesn't always do what they should. Several years ago a mechanic stole my sons car and we made a report about. After a year we got a tip from a friend that the mechanic had the car to Arkansas, so we told the police where it was and they did nothing. My husband and my son went to Arkansas and took it back from him. After they got it home I made a recovery report and the police jumped on me asking why didn't we make a recovery report in Arkansas. Get this I caused the Memphis Police Department paper work.

Anyway, I'm sorry that it happened to you.

Good Morning Everyone!!! I beat Krystle to the punch!!! Wooo Hoooo

I go to pick up Antonio today!!! YEAAA!

I love it when my friends ask "How long is he staying?" and I can say "Until we moved to Italy together" BOOOM!

I have only one regret..... Now I have to share a closet with a boy! And an Italian boy, so it's like sharing with a girl!!!

Everyone have a great day.. I have go to the grocery store because the pantry looks like Old Mother Hubbard's, go sample the catering for the wedding...Then I am off to Charlotte to get my honey. He arrives after 11pm tonight!!

THAT IS GREAT NEWS!!! I'm so happy for you both!

  11. My American Fiance has received the notice of approval and the notice that the information was forwarded to Montreal, but I haven't received anything from Montreal and it's been almost a month since she last received anything.

    Should we call someone?

    Congrats!!!

    --------------------------

Kayla, your proofs are great! I lived in Cumberland Falls Estates on and off when I was a little girl. Cumberland falls is beautiful.

Gaynto, I know you are walking on clouds.

    Have a wonderful weekend!!!
