  1. Thanks agian for everyones support!! We feel pretty good, I believe it is just a new procedure for Iranians.

I couldn't agree more that the September filers have been a lucky bunch, and a wonderful group to apart of. I'm very happy to be part of this group. I was telling my husband this morning how people that have already had thier interviews and were approved are still here cheering the rest of us on. I think we

Kayla, congrats on the rings!!! No one here would blame you for spending every moment you can together.

Jenn, I'm so proud of you for standing your ground and insisting that they let you in. Good for you!!! :star:

Alright A&D do us proud!!

  2. I think Kayla is next.

Ney, any more news on the AP, how long.. or what's going to take place now?

We had an opportunity to speak to her in detail when she got back to Iran yesterday. The first day that she went to the embassy it was an Iranian woman who worked at the embassy that was being very rude to everyone and told them to come back the next day with no explanation other than laws have changed (we still don't know what that was about). The next day when she returned she was interviewed by an American woman who was very nice to her. The woman interviewed her in English, and told her all the papers are in order, asked her a couple of questions, and told her to watch the website for her number to come up in the next few weeks (She said that everyone from Iran has to go through this process now).

Najmeh said that many of the interviewers were being hard on some of the people who were being interviewed, but she didn't know thier personal situations. She said some people were denied quickly and left really upset. The interviewers were also checking pictures with a special light to see if they'd been photoshopped, but they didn't do that to her pictures. The interviewer seemed to be impressed that there were so many family members on both sides that supported and attended the engagement party in Dubai. They didn't look at her emails, phone bills, or skype pages, but they had a huge package on her and my son (I think it was all of the things that he sent in the original package for the K-1, which included airline tickets for everyone who attended the party, tons of pictures of everyone, all of the reciepts (hotels, dinners, activities, flowers, shopping), and a DVD of the engagement party).

I feel confident she will get the visa it's just a matter of time.

  3. Thanks Everyone!!! (L)

AP is additional processing and they tend to do this alot for MENA (Middle East North African) countries. They do additional checks on family names and/or a persons history. AP used to be more likely to happen to men, but it is becoming more common place for anyone. I know most of the females on VJ from Iran have been placed on AP recently. Also, from what I've seen on VJ, AP can last anywhere from two weeks to twelve months (You never know how long it will take and that's the painful part).

They didn't keep her passport, she's already in route back to Iran.

I'm sure with all the good wishes here it will go quickly.

  4. Thanks for all the good vibes!!!

Najmeh went the embassy this morning; they took some of her paperwork and told all of the applicants that the laws have changed in the last week. Something about a cancer shot they have to have which she had at the medical. Then with no further explanation told them all to come back in the morning. She said they were very rude and didn't tell them anything else. She is exhausted and frustrated because she had to travel 70 miles in a cab to get there and 70 miles back and didn't even get interviewed. Now she has to do it all agian in the morning. My only hope now is that they give her the visa tomorrow instead of ap. I hope to post good news tomorrow.

  5. Congrats Driver!!! :dance::dance:

Thanks for all of the good wishes! LOL, I've talked my entire families ear off about this site and all of the great people here. :D She interviews at 10:00 AM in Abu Dhabi (UAE). So her interview is about one in the morning our time (CST). I should know something in the morning, as soon as I hear what is going on I will post it here.

    Thanks again everyone!!! (F)

  6. I honestly feel good for you guys! Have a safe trip and enjoy your time with Faut and his family. This will be the last time you both see his family for some time. Also, have a great time with your mom!!! Please keep us posted if you can! We are all here for you and want nothing more than to see your success!!! Keep you chin up, you both will do great!!!

  7. Three couples are consuming my waking hours as well as my sleep right now. Obviously, my son and his fiancee who I'm pretty confident will be in put on AP, Jenn and Faut who I feel will get thier visa while Jenn's in Turkey (I really feel good for you Jenn), and A&D who I feel has it in the bag (I'd really be suprised if it happens any other way).

GOOD LUCK TO EACH ONE OF YOU!!! (L) I KNOW EACH ONE OF YOU HAVe WORKED HARD AND DESERVE THIS!!! (F)

Please, please I'm asking for each of you to keep everyone who's interviewing this week in your prayers.

    Thank you all!!!

Seb, I'm praying for Joanna to have a safe trip to America and for the weather to be beautiful for her!!!

Maggie, I'm praying for you too!!!

My son-in-laws (John) car broke down on the highway and the cop pulled over and asked "Do you need a tow truck?" John said "No thanks my dad is on his way" After the cop left John had to go to the bathroom so he walked up one of the exits to a gas station and went. Within 15 minutes he was back at his car and a ticket was on his windshield. Unbelievable, I see cars sitting on the side of the road with warnings all the time, and this kid gets a ticket for what. My daughter spent time on the phone only to find out he has to go to court. Now where is the justice in this, his car was there less than an hour. I think it was a rookie cop who was hot to ticket someone sick little sh** (hurting people who have done no wrong). Hiccups seem to run in my family.

Oh well, maybe things will change when family member number eight gets here. :)

  8. A&D CONGRATS on the interview being set up!!!:dance:

Jenn was right you got it the same week she has hers.

You'll be here before you know it!

Jenn, hang in there girl!!! You are in my thoughts and prayers!!! (L)

I'm sorry your package never made it, my son's package didn't get to Najmeh either :o

I emailed scanned copies to her today, but they wanted the original employment letter on company letter head. Watch the package show up later this week. She leaves first thing in the morning. Oh well, we did the best we could.

Kjenkins, good to see you peeking in here from time to time!

Kayla, I hope your back home now!

Just imagine the interviewers in thier undies and you'll be fine.

Let's go LADIES you can do it!!!

Thank you all for your support!!!

  9. Ney, I had been meaning to ask you this.. they are doing interviews on a SUNDAY? I'm impressed anyone in the US Government is working on a weekend :) Regardless of what country they are in.

No offense to Krystle or anyone else, but Ney and her family are in my prayers more than anyone! Unfortunately, I understand, too well, the difficulties her son and I face with interviews in that particular part of the world. The one good thing for Ney and her son is that his fiance is a woman. Things seem to go much easier for the women than for the men.. but I don't think many people (except those going through it in these countries) really understand how different and difficult it is for the MENA countries. I didn't even realize how much more difficult the visas were there until I started reading VJ.

And yes, I know.. Turkey is not technically in the Middle East.. but when it comes to visas they are treated pretty much the same ( and China seems to get the same treatment and scrutiny too.. sometimes it seems they are even harder).

But..today is not about worrying.. today is about the great news we are going to hear.

COME ON our Jamaican Queen.. bring us some good news. I imagine you sitting there, in the consulate, right now.. and I hope you know we are all sitting there with you!

Thanks Jenn, I knew if anyone understood the pins and needles it would be you. For the most part, most of the people here are from countries that go to the interview with butterflies get the visa and come to America with no problem. As Jenn said there are several countries that put you through an enourmous amount of headache, then deny you, or put you on a new waiting list for an unspecified amount of time after the interview. I know that several of the men and women are being put on AP now (men do have a tougher time). Some people are in AP less than a month and some for over a year, and you never know what will happen or how it will happen to you. All we can do is pray that we are a couple of the fotunate ones, and I pray that to be the case for both of us. My heart and prayers go out to you and Faut

Weekends are different over there, thier Sundays are the start of the work week like our Mondays (I guess when in Rome).

I truly do appreciate everyones support, and I can't even begin to express what a wonderful group we have here. :star:

:dance:A HUGE CONGRATS TO KJENKINS!!!:dance:

I am sooooo happy for you both! Now time to start planning the wedding (Beach Time)!

Kizza nice to see you in here agian!

Maggie, I'm glad that you found a new possiblity for the police record.

A&D, Congrats on your case making it to the embassy!

  10. Maggie, I like the idea about paying extra to get it expedited. Will they do that? Maybe if you can convince them of the urgency of the situation, and tell them that you were informed that you couldn't get it until now because it expires.

A&D Congrats on getting the medical out of the way!

Jenn, you are just too sweet!!! (I had to throw that in. I'm still touched about your post last night)

Good Luck Krystal!!! (Love to see a confident woman!)

  11. Gaynto, glad to see you back! Congrats on getting to move on with the wedding.

Umm, that is not as cute Kayla, but it's not too bad looking really.

Maggie, I can feel your panic. My son sent the final package to his fiancee and she still has not gotten it (she leaves for Dubai next Wed)

Why was it sent later in the game? He was waiting on last years W-2 to come in. The package contains the w-2, letter from his employer, bank records, and paystubs.

Hopefully, it will all fall in place for you and they can get it your paper to you sooner than they think.
