  1. Hello all,

I am just wondering how long it is taking to get the police certificate from RCMP.

We sent our back on Nov 11th and till now we had not recieved it.

We sent them email, and it seems still in their hands, and they give us this long message about how they process so many records and that wait time is about 120 days.

We have interview in 40 days from now, we do have one certificate which was issues 1st week of July last year.

    Can any one advise.

    Thanks

  2. Hello VJ,

I just wanted to inform you that today we got emai from our lawyer that the interview is scheduled for April 1st.

It seems they were confused about my finace application from another special visa, but the lawyer was able to clarify and we got a date.

I am so so happy.. at least it give us comfort to know there is an interview date.

I wish everyone will get their great news this week.

  5. It seems we all had forgotten those in recent years with all the tension in Middle East and news about the terrorism, US immigration had gotten severe with their guidelines.

I know that for some marrying a woman, who is 15 years older does not sounds as a problem, but since 2001, US immigration had learned more about Middle East cultures and they do understand that 15 years is a great gap especially for a woman.

Most middle eastern men might say they don't want to have a child when they first meet an older woman, but when it hits the truth he will be looking to have a kid from his wife which will carry his family name.

If you both are in love and he wants a life time commitment, then go get married and file for that because then you will show that it was not just intended to come to the US.

    My 2 cents

  6. I hope Feb. is a better month too! Good day to everyone!

Batta, I don't know what is going on with the embassy. They must be short handed or something. I have been under AP for almost six months. Every now and then someone at DOS will tell me the last time the embassy updated something in the system. Last week I called and they said the last update was Jan. 7.

I got an email from the embassy this morning and they said that we are still under review.

I had a couple of people from the DOS tell me that the Amman embassy is very slow.

Hopefully we will both hear good news from them soon.

Well.. I could not hold myself and called DOS, and got same response, she even told me exactly what embassy sent to my fiancé in his email.

I decided to go with the Nahda office in Jordan, and now they are handling communication with Embassy, cause I believe my emails are going to the junk folder, or they set a rule in outlook where it get deleted automatically.

I really just need a date.. I was told by the Nahda office that queue now is about end of March or 1st week of April.

I pray for results for you, I and others this week..

  7. Happy Sunday,

Spent the day praying that this week will be a great one, and to hear some news.

I still think it is too cold to go out in Chicago, but I have to do it, because sitting between 4 walls will drive me insane.

Cannot wait for next weekend cause going to see the hunny and his family...

Lord bring peace to everyone here with their case and re-unite us with our loved ones.

  8. Gaeliza,

I am sure no word I or others can provide which can provide you with peace and comfort.

It is heart breaking to see what you have endured during the whole process and as you were close to celebrate an achievement you went into a down fall. You need to put your trust in God. There is a reason for everything and we could spend the rest of our lives trying to justify why things happened in a way we did not plan for it, yet we always tend to forget that God has power over us, and all we need is to trust in him.

Today, look at the bright side. No matter what is the reason for this break up, you are still at the beginning of the road.

Try to take a time off, recollect yourself and then start looking for options to work this issue.

If it was so easy for him to let you go, then this is not a true love, and if I were you, I would not need to spend my life with someone who does not want to stand up for me and himself.

I been where you were, and I can tell you.. when I look back at things happened, it was the best decision I made by breaking up an engagement, because I would have been dead by now..

Cheer up.. your friends are here for you..

  9. Good morning folks,

I was wondering, if we decide to assign a lawyer what kind of help he can provide?

I talked to someone lawyer in Jordan and was told they will contact embassy to request interview on our behalf..my finace thinks it is a ####### because we are doing the same thing following up on case..

Just give me a word of wisdom if I should waste 400 dollars on a lawyer..

    Thanks

    Batta

  10. It is Sunny Day out here in Chicago.. But freezing..

I am trying to be optimistic and tell myself that soon will get an interview.

I just wonder what happened to the US embassy in Amman. 2010 started with slow slow slow response from Amman, they are not even answering emails, or ignoring the questions in the email.

I had questions in regard to expiring NOA2 and Packet 3, and it is been a week since my last email, yet nothing on their part.

DOS tells me the only note, that embassy will contact once they schedule an interview..

How can one contact the Ambassador?? Someone mention there was a change in the embassy.. Well it does not seem it is a Great change..

  11. Hello,

    Update:

So I called DOS on Thursday asking about the response of embassy in regards to the word “review".

DOS said only note shows, that Embassy yet to schedule interview, and no other notes.

Fiancé emailed embassy and they responded by saying, packet 3 will be sent once interview is scheduled...

At this point we are waiting...

  12. Hello,

So the embassy seems they responded to my fiance but not me :)

They told him that file in Amman and it is under review!

What kind of a review, it is a case sent by NVC and it was approved..

Again, they did not answer the Packet 3 question..

I will ask him to scan the form and send it by email, so no execuse, we will also send it by Aramx

I sent them email at 7 AM asking them to update his address since it is still wrong in system..so let's see if they will answer me..

So any thought on the review thing...

    Batta

  13. I just got through DOS and I was told that they have a note saying they are receiving our emails.

They also said they have a note about packet 3 not being sent, so I don't understand what they are waiting for.

DOS still showing the old address, although I have asked embassy to changed on several occasions to change it.

DOS told me to scan/ email the document required for packet 3, and also send it in mail.

I guess I will try this route and also try to email them to change our address again and ask about packet 3.

For extension I believe I can ask from now, but I hope I can get an appointment before that it is been a painful experience
