  1. From what I have read (someone correct me if I'm wrong) You do the medical one day, and then pick up the paperwork the next day. As far as the vaccinations, you will need to get the first series there but dont need to finish them there.

Edit: It would be much better to do as many vaccinations there as possible. They are much cheaper there.

Ok I am the one that did the Jan 2010 update. My fience went to the hospital on a Sat and ask if they could do everything in 1 day so she would not have to miss work to come bcak to pick up doc. this is what they did it took about 8 hrs and cost 10K. I dont know if it was more because it was a Sat or done in 1 day or if they charged her the same price YMMV she did say that it was a little cheaper because she took in her own forms not the hospitals. good luck

  2. Congrats...funny my fiance picks up her visa on 27th as well. I was looking to see what she needs to bring with her. My fiance told me she met a nice girl named Sa while she was waiting for the interview. I'm guessing that's your fiance. Again congrats.

Yea thats my little angel. she said that her friends fiencee found me on line. congrats to you and best of luck on the future!

  3. She passed!!!! pick up visa on the 27th!! they only ask her 4 or 5 questions, How we meet. and why I send her money when shee has a good job. The others she dont remember now I will try to find out more later and post it. she got to the embassy at about 530am and was finished about 11am she said she met a lot of new friends there and when I called her a few of the girl went to lunch and to hang out. She said it was not that hard and she (ands me) was worried for nothing. Good luck to everyone that has interviews coming up. Now I can get some sleep!

  4. It'll be fine. As long as you have all of your documents in order and sufficient evidence there is nothing at all to worry about.

I hope so. we have a lot of evidence and a front loaded our I129f a lot but I still worry. it is just the fact that it is up to the CO so if he dont like something we get screwed. I think she will be ok. Thanks for the kind words

  7. Hey guys I need some help on this one. It is not visa related but I think you all might be able to help me. I want to get gifts for my in laws when I go to Thailand in May. I as my fience about it and she said yes it is a good idea, that I should get something for her mom and dad and her 2 aunts (she is very close with her aunts).

First I was thinking about a nice bottle of jonnie walker for her dad but she said no. When I ask her what to get them she says I dont know and is not very helpful. her family is rice farmers and live a very simple life. for her dad I was thinking about a nice pocket knife, maybe engraved with our wedding date on it. as for the women I dont know do any of you have any ideas? please help?

  8. I read somewhere that it take 1 week for the police cert from Thailand. My fiencee called and they told her 3 weeks on the phone, when she went in there today they told her 2 weeks. She explained that she needed it sooner and was told to call the officer in 3 days on his cell. She says that she thinks that he wants money to speed it up, I have no problem with this I lived in Thailand and know how it works but does anyone know how much we should pay for this type of services? Also the police man told her she needed a document from the embassy that said why she needs a police cert. I told her to take in the Packet 3 docs and that the cover letter should work but after he had her read it to him (he dont read english) he said this is not what they need but he took it anyway along with her email that says when her interview is and said call him. I think he did this just so it sounds like he is doing more work under the table. Does anyone have experence with this? I dont mind paying off the police but I dont want to over pay them then they will get gready and ask for more from the next guy!

  9. Assuming the interview is approved, won't she be leaving her job? (as in, really soon?) Can't she take a little extra time off for the medical?

Yes and No, She will be leaving her job in May maybe April. After I come there for wedding party. We want to have the visa done so she can return to the US with me. She loves her job and wants to leave on good terms.

Her boss is a little mad at her now because she took a few extra days off for travel at New Years so the less work she has to miss the better. It is not a big deal to miss work but if she can get things done on non working hours it makes her feel better. I just talked to her this morning and she called the Hospital and they said they can do her medical on Saturday. They told her she will need 3 shots, that the medical is about 2000 and shots 7000 so around 10,000 total. She is happy about that and she told her boss that Monday she has to go get the police celerence and will be late coming in not a big problem. I tthink it is all coming together but only time will tell.

I see you have a interview coming up. Good luck!!! Good luck to all of us VJers!!

  10. The police report may be able to be done on the weekend (but you have to contact them and see if they have hours on the weekend).

Whether they expedite it for extra baht has no bearing on WHEN they are open.

Also same for the medical - but it takes a half day minimum so I think they may not be doing that on the weekend,

as only a few doctors are certified to do that.

    Good luck

Thanks Thong. Sa called the Police station they dont do it on weekend and they told her it will take 15 days. I think it is like 7 days for the check and then time to mail it to her she will go there First thing Monday and she if she can pick up the completed report or pay extra to speed it along.

The Medical she is going to check into doing it on Saturday so she will not have to miss more work. I dont think this would be a problem if not she can do it Monday after the police thing and just take the day off rather than going in late. I think we should be ok to get it all done in time.

  11. If you read the above sentence the 4-8 weeks is from the date the consulate receives your Package from NVC, not from when packet3 is submitted, which yours is about 4 weeks out from when they received it. I went off the data on this site for how long my interview would take to schedule. Most people on the site do update their timelines. If you also read the packet 3 checklist that was signed when returning packet3, it says you have completed all items on the checklist prior to sending in packet3.

cool now I know for my next wife. LOL Or my next life.

  12. here it is from the Embassy website packet 3 instructions.

Although most K visa appointments are scheduled in about

two months, the IV cannot guarantee all interviews will be scheduled that quickly. Each visa category

and case is different, however, and we cannot provide a timeline. Do not contact the IV Unit to ask

when your appointment will be scheduled.

maybe if more of you update info on here it would help people after you!!

  13. I don't know where you got your 8 to 12 weeks information. It took us 2 weeks after packet 3 was submitted, during the busy time of year I think it was max 4 weeks, after packet 3 submission.

  14. Hey guys I have a little bit of a problem now. We just got email from embassy Sa's interview is jan 22. She still has to do medical, Police cert and pay at post office. the post office I dont think is a big deal just walk in to one on the list and pay and get slip and you are done I think. Medical, can she do that on the weekend so she dont have to miss work? I hope so. Police cert I thinkk is the kick in the teeth. They are not open on weekend are they? Some one said something about paying extra Baht to get it faster how does that work and how much? any advice on how to get this all done in 2 weeks with her missing as little work as possable? thanks again everyone.
