  1. Bump.

    Thanks for the response vjers.

I am kinda confused and lost on what visa to actually apply for....

one of the requirement for i-130 (the immigrant cant stay out of the united states past a certain amount of time). Due to my dad's job, he cant be away for that long(So i was looking at the tourist visa but i see Nigeria has one a high denial rate on this...

Folks please point me in the right direction.

  2. I know this topic has been talked about endlessly but still i need some clarity.

I am about filing for my dad. So i realized, i needed form i-130.

My parents are not married but my father has always been in my life from inception.

So currently, here is my application checklist

    FORM I-130
    PAYMENT (Check)
    US CERTIFICATION / PASSPORT (Petitioner)
    BIRTH CERTIFICATE (Petitioner)
MARRIAGE CONTRACT (Petitioner) Do i need this?
    BIRTH CERTIFICATE (Beneficiary)
    Am i missing anything?
    Thanks everyone.
  3. In that case, since the degree is similar...Its doable.

But tipping someone to get it done is my wahala. Once people know you are out of the country and u need them to do something... They always put their own selfish interest ahead of your issue. Wishing you all d best

  4. Polytechnic? Dont even bother tipping anyone. I graduated from a university in nigeria. Couldnt get it the transcript before i left. Spend alot of money to get it when i got it. Bottomline, i was being sent a fake transcript(Its Naija)

my husband graduated from a Polytechnic. He spent time calling the school and people he knew in the school..... Sent money to get it done.... Finally, the said they mailed it to WES...... WES has it but dont think we would convert it.

Personally to me, Its not worth it for Polytechnic. Thats just me ! Especially if he is looking into the medical field.
