  1. I think the next time I'll get a good nights sleep is after my interview . As the date comes closer .... I lose an hour of sleep . Last night i slept at 4 am after obsessing about all the paperwork. Sighs please tell me it's not just me

  2. O great I just realized I had not purchased the "Signature on Delivery" option. I thought it was included b/c it had "Signature on Delivery?" Written on the back, but that was where they would put an additional sticker on. So now I have to go back tomorrow and have that added.

  3. This is our first post in here. We have been following this forum over the last year and a half.

We have gotten good information that has helped us throughout our visa process.

Many of you are right in saying that once you get to the interview, there's nothing to fret about. But, in our case, we had our interview today and everything went well til we had the actual interview. We had to go back and sit around for another 2 hrs to get called back in and finally we were told that we were finally approved. That was the longest 2 hrs, as they had our future in their hands. Everyone there was very friendly and helpful.

We stayed at the Hotel Dauphin and we ate at the Pasta restaurant that was mentioned, a very good choice. Everything was in walking distance.

The envelope that we took was 12 by 15 and had no issues with it.

We meet a few VJers and they were also approved.

We will update our info in the next few days and will post in here more often. To help others that are going through this process.

Thank you all for your help.

    Congratulations!!!!!

Can I ask why they made you wait 2 hrs?

  4. I agree, the measurements for millimeters don't seem right. mine is 30.5 x 39.4 cm...which is 12 in x 15.5

It is Xpresspost, regional, prepaid, next day

It seems like it will easily fold up. I'll upload a pic.

  5. Ok, I'm not sure what to do.....

After purchasing the Xpress envelope I realized she gave me a 12"X15" (390mm X 295mm).

    But it's supposed to be 314mm X 394mm.

When I went back to the Post Office, they said the one I got is the biggest they have.

What should I do? How critical is the couple mm's off? Last thing I want is the embassy to have an issue with my friggan envelope!!

This is the one I got and she took out a ruler and measured it. it is 12x15 which is what they ask for on P4. It's huge and it is the biggest one they have. I don't think a difference of 15 millimeters is going to make much difference.

On top of that, the one they ask for doesn't exist anymore. It's much bigger than letter size Sapphire, I thinkt hat's what you thought.

Yeah that's the one I'm thinking of.

Mine had the dimension in millimetres right by the barcode... it must still print the dimensions in mm.. unless they changed it... it's printed pretty small...

I got the wrong one as well I think (390 x 295). She said these aren't for documents so I might go back and exchange it. This one isn;t the cardboard material...It is flimsy with bubble wrap Xpresspost, next day blah blah And it has a skier on it :)

  6. So I went to the Post Office today to pick up my envelope, and the woman behind the counter wondered outloud why on earth I'd need something that size. I told her, it's per gov't requirements, without going into details.

"Well no hunny, no government is gonna require an envelope that size. They just want the letter sized stuff."

I love when people tell me what I need.

"Well, I'm handing them a letter-sized manila envelope which they have to mail back to me, which won't fit in an envelope the same size."

    "Oh. ...Are you suuuure?"

    Oi.

    What does yours look like?

Is it the cardboard material or the soft material? The lady had no idea what I was looking for. She said the size I told her didnt even exist. Maybe Ill try another post office tomorrow. And I second that how I hate ppl telling me what I need.

  7. HHmmm......I see Canam is bringing wedding pics. Anyone heard of a married couple with a child being asked for evidence for marriage? like pics, etc...

I'm bringing a few wedding pics to show that there was a ceremony incase they ask. The rest of the pica are just from random visits . I feel like I should have more than little. That probably won't even ask to see them. But u never know.

  8. Yep I have Tax returns for 2006, 2007, 2008 and some letters from the bank showing Savings etc. I feel pretty confident of all the documents.

For the Birth Cert I have a letter stating how they cannot give it to me and an Affidavit of Support from my parents. I also have old school documents that say who my parents are etc (which I think can be the secondary document). I did the most I could, so even if I get denied or what ever, I don't see what I could do more.

    So nervous.

  9. Hey fellow CR 1's

I was wondering if anyone who has gone through the process can add to my list of things to bring to the interview just so I know Im not forgetting anything.

    -Passport

    -Interview Letter

    - 2 - US passport size pics

    - Xpress post Envelope

    - Medical Results/ Xray

    - Any documents requested (In my case, Letter indicating BC cannot be reproduced and an Affidavit of Support from my parents indicating I am their child)

    - Proof of Relationship: Travel itineraries, Wedding pictures and other random pictures

    - Photocopy of forms submitted

Please let me know If im missing anything. Thanks a bunch :):)

  10. I know we are at that stage when we will be paranoid about each and every detail.

But I think with the medical everyone is in the clear unless the doc says "O ur missing that vaccine!!". Or anything related to TB or HIV.

If you've had normal chest xrays and blood tests and are up to date with vaccines, then I doubt there is anything to worry about.

Ppl have surgeries for broken bones and what not doesnt mean they are "unhealthy".

    Do not panic :)

  11. ***Update on my Original Birth Certificate Dilemma from India****

The hospital will not issue a new one so they certified the scanned version of my original I sent and put a stamp and everything on stating that this is a true copy blah blah.

They also sent a letter saying they cannot provide a duplicate birth registration certificate. Signed/stamped/dated

Now my parents will make an affidavit of support to go along with it.

I really hope this is enough b/c I cant do anything else.

  12. I just picked up the results for my medical today. They said everything was great and bring the sealed envelope and xray to the interview.

They also gave me a sheet for Vaccination Documentation.

On this, under no.2 the Results section, the doc check marked "application maybe eligible for blanket waivers as indicated above"

I had all the vaccinations but for Gardisil I only had the first.

Anyone else have the same ticky box ticked??

Why am I so paranoid about everything??
