I've been waiting over 2 and half years with no recourse, I applied July of 2009......... each time i call i get excuses and told "its pending check back in 30, 60, 90, 180 days" or "we are preforming background checks" yeah right, almost 3 years worth?
I guess what matters is what nationality your spouse is, if they are tan/brown expect racism

Wow only 6 months? So fast, wish that was my case =/
-
CR-1 here waiting over 2 and half years... Still no NOA2

Korean air, use a website like http://www.hipmunk.com/ to search for the ticket

A USA passport is much better than a philippines passport because you can travel anywhere almost without a visa upfront. Thats about the only good thing I see
-
Try over 2 years waiting like I have, those times at the bottom are meaningless you cant hold them to the times legally (ive tried) , those service requests are useless, as is contacting your senator.
I guess a lawsuit is probably my best option

I always use moneygram its not that expensive and its quick, lots of pick up places
-
One week? about $400 usd is enough unless you plan for some amazing lifestyle
-
I would like the USA to actually process those that file and wait legally, and approve them instead of just giving out amnesty to anyone that breaks the rules . How about approve those that take the legal route first that have spent thousands of dollars and waited YEARS

She needs to get an annulment , then you guys marry and start the process over again
-
Dont answer the question here about if she "intended" to marry when she entered on a tourist visa, keep that info to yourself only! Just be happy she actually got to be with your in the usa , file for her Adjustment of Status.

Not sure why you guys support a communist Dictator, who stole all the money from the philippines and used it to lavish themselves in extremes (such as thousands of pairs of shoes) this doesn't make a person amazing or elegant, this makes them insane.
I wasnt here during the time of Marcos but i can't imagine the power people happened for no reason.

Cherry Blossom is right beside Robinson mall, so its a good location to give you something to do in walking distance

As a person living in the philippines ive learned you just have to accept whatever it is. Even if its backwards by our standards or makes no sense (which is often) , you just dont have a choice but to endure it.
But while you are in manila find some nice things to do, Mall of Asia, Robinsons mall are both nice, plenty of things to do and places to eat. Check out intramuros, its cool and the area is nice (has a starbucks)
Also keep attitude in mind, the more you panic and feel out of place the more you will be treated that way. I think its just the initial shock of being here , takes about a week to get over it.
My wife has to hear me complain all the time, i try to keep it at a minimum though
Just be happy you dont have to do any banking here
-
Welcome to the philippines where everything is backwards, you get used to it after a while . You get used to the beggars after a while , ignore them. They make it impossible to pay for things here as well, no just swiping a debit card. Everyone carries around bags full of cash , or uses shady ATMS to get money.
I live here, so i'm used to it but being a foreigner never wears off. The malls are the worst, see how many pamphlets get jammed in your face , and just avoid the SM department store they will chase you down trying to sell you things. Sad too, because otherwise i would like to shop there but the constant "sales" are nuts.
They do everything the "philippines" way, and if you complain about it no one cares. I often do insane things all the time because thats just how it is , i once waited in line 6 hours to just pay for an airline ticket here.
-
I think you guys got the history mixed up, no one here that i know supports Marcos very much. His insane wife had over 1000 pairs of shoes (bought with tax payer money) Who knows how much money was taken from the philippines by those guys.

Sue them ? Tell them you have no care about religion or caste and none of it matters. Why is a religious marriage even needed? What if you are non religious?
-
I bet if you were waiting over 700 days you wouldn't be so happy about their "services" . Good people dont leave others hanging without any recourse , they should at least tell you at what stage you are in the process and what exactly is being done on your case at the moment you call. Not just excuses
-
What you should do is wait for the k1 to be approved, then get married. Otherwise you risk delay
-
The usa isnt very progressive they would probably have better luck in another country for sure. Sadly the USA discriminates against same sex couple, and they are hardly approving straight couples that are married
Does Japan allow it? They would be foolish to leave japan as it is. Who on earth would do that to come to the usa ? LOL She should be thankful she can live in japan

Ive been waiting over 2 years to get approved to bring my wife to the usa, and spent thousands of dollars and I am still waiting. I guess we just need to fly to mexico and hop the fence if this is the case. Clearly the government is sending the message that USCIS is broken and they dont care

I'm on day number 767, sit back and wait it could take many years

I thought on a K1 that a round trip was required, in case the person did not marry for whatever reason they had the ability to return home

My history was exactly the same as yours, and Mine is an Adam Walsh Case
Firing my attorney, where do I go from here?

I'm also using Allan S. Lolly,
Although i am on a CR-1 my case is more complicated but I do feel they haven't done much to help me. They stall me constantly , although they do always respond to email but its never much of an answer. They claimed they had handled cases like mine before and knew what to do.
But here i am 2 and half years later still waiting and still emailing them in hopes that they take some action. (Thats why i hired them, in case of a problem) It seems once they got the money from me, that was it. I paid about 3k or more upfront.....
