  1. it is just weird that I feel like that the night before I have to go to work...

do you dislike your job or parts of it? or does it make you nervous?

The body has ways of telling us things our mind tries to ignore...

I hope you feel better soon.

  2. Hello i was wondering if any one had any information on this topic, did you have to file one after filing your K-1 visa? for what i have read about it on the net so far it says that you can only file it once your K-1 visa is denied. My Fiance is in the process of filing the I-129F but we wanted to know if we should get started on the I-601 at the same time and file them together since we already know that i will be denied since i overstayed my last visa in the US.... I was brought there at the age of 4 and lived there for over 20 years... about 3 years ago my AOS application was denied and I became officially "illegal" so it took me two years to get my self together and uproot my whole life and move to my home country... that i had never even previously visited and now that my fiance and i are getting married it seems like i may not even be able to go back home at all... and no i was not deported i left on my own because i wanted to avoid deportation.... any how is there anyone who can offer me any advice? especially on the whole proving extreme hardship to the US citizen. because we are both young (26) we have no kids at all, recent college grads with no long term work ties... and no illnesses so i am finding it difficult to come up with extreme hardship arguments that qualify....

    Hi!

I cant offer you much help but did you know that there is a subforum dedicated to this?

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?

You should find your answers there.

    Good luck!

  3. Thank you Huggles & Kizza, its been a tough weekend. He's deployed to the middle east :(, I can't say where, but its non-combat area..

Im glad to hear it's a non-combat area.

    Must be hard nevertheless.

    :(

  4. Good luck :thumbs::thumbs:

While in Montreal Schwartzs Delecatessen up on St. Laurent BLVD. is a must place to go to.

If you have the time drop in for the best smoked meat sandwich you can ever get.

    + 1

  5. Have to do a drug test this week (guess I better start studying...)

I really miss my husband :( It's going to be a long few mos....

HA! I just got it!! doh.

Congrats on the job offer! Hope you get it!

Im sorry about your husband going away! :(

I hear you. I dont know when I'll see my man again and Im finding the distance harder and harder to deal with.

    Good luck!!

  6. Wow, lots of good news. Congratulations to all that were approved. My interview is not until May 4th (49 days) but I see him in London next month. I am pretty excited about London, cos I have not seen him since Jan 2nd of this year.:dance::dance:

Kizza, do you have an interview date yet?

Fun! Ive never been to London. Enjoy your time with your him!

Yeah... I havent seen my man since Jan. 5th and Im getting more and more sick of the distance as we go. I thin he will come visit soon though, so that will help!

No interview date yet... hoping to get good news soon. I think Matt will call DOS this afternoon... I know it's still early to call but we're trying to stay optimistic :)

  7. That's awesome!

I was just thinking... That would probably work well here in CO Kizza, with all our powdery snow... We have a year to find an old couch and some skiis

 I can find old skis no problem!! We just need the couch!

I also have friends with quads.

  8. It may just be me, but helping people by answering questions can bring a little joy to my day. Thinking that you've helped someone out and eased their stress and anxiety just a little big is pretty great! I'm thankful for all the people that answered my ridiculous questions when I was going through the process, so I'd like to think that I give back and keep the circle of VJ life going

There are some questions that can be easily answered by reading the guides a bit. The one question that seems to bother me sometimes is the: "I'm engaged to a (insert foreign citizenship here) how do I get him/her to the US? Can she just come here and stay?" But questions like this? I don't mind answering this at all. This is one of those questions that can best be answered by describing personal experiences, not by reading a guide that says, "Montreal and Vancouver do vision tests. The end."

I completely agree with you. :) Ive gotten so much from VJ that it makes me happy if I can help people however I can.

The posts that annoy me are the "Got my NOA2! Now what?" lol

  9. ... well, people are free to skip the simple questions that are easily answered and focus on more important and valid questions.

Maybe those important questions go unanswered because people dont know the answer, not because they are busy answering simple ones?

I also like to do my own research, but as it has been said, the search engine in VJ isnt that great.

In the case of this particular question, obviously, judging from the answers, experience varied a lot from person to person, and now the OP will have a chance to be prepared, whatever happens at the medical.

  10. giving this a little shove. The interview is in 9 days and I DON'T want to mess up over something so simple. The support will be our only hurdle to cross, we have all the other evidence.

Kayla, did you get any answers to your questions?

I dont have any answers to offer, I would just be guessing, but you might get more help on this subject in the Embassy & Consulate forum.

    Good luck!

  11. I dont blame you. The grey one looks so cool with his eye patch!

I have a dog too and I just love him to bits. He is my buddy.

... must be nice to be done with immigration stuff for a while, huh?

  12. I figured as much :)

do you think this will be an issue? I'm worried that by answering "yes", it will be a red flag, even though there's a reasonable explanation.

No. A lot of Canadians get refused entry if they cant show enough ties to Canada. I was.

I havent gone through the interview yet, but many other Canadians have told me that it happened to them and they got approved without any issue.

  13. awww, you guys actually remember me!

    I've been good.

In the last year, we adopted 2 more dogs (3 total now!) - don't worry, we're DONE NOW :)

    We also bought a house,

I started a new job 8 months ago and we are now gutting our kitchen!

WE HAVE NO STOVE RIGHT NOW. Just a sink and a fridge. NO CABINETS, NO COUNTERTOPS.

    Just studs!

Oh!! I don't know you because Im too new here, but your dogs are so cute! :)

  14. aww, Im sorry Lgg. (F)

I cant offer much help as Im still home, but this is what Im most scared of in this process.

I hope you get into a new routine you love very soon.

  15. The confirmation page has some instructions on the top half, then the photo if you managed to upload it, a bar code, and a few lines with your name, nationality, passport #, confirmation # and date completed.

I feel your pain... it took me HOURS to get it to work, and in the end, I didnt do anything different to get it right...

Do you have Internet Explorer 8 installed?

    Good luck!

  16. After two days of trying to get a confirmation page this is all I can get. I don't see a bar code anywhere. All my fields are complete, but at the end of the application I don't get any option to send, submit, email....anything just to print each page that's all....

is this the page i need to save?? and there is no number beside the one that is saved as a .dat file...Is that the numbaer I should keep?

    It's a CEACAA0000xxx number...

    HELP!!!!!!!!

    post-79457-12685989128917_thumb.jpg

the file number sounds right... I got something similar.

You have to do Continue Application, and on its own, it will bring you to a page where you can print the application and the confirmation page as well as email the confirmation page.

  17. Is there anything you suggest I see in Montreal? And a gooood poutine place.

On another note, my husbands finally back in the USA.

Nice! good news about your husband.

How long are you in town for? What do you like to do?

Do you like shopping? I love to walk on St-Denis street... there are tons of little boutiques and cafes. La Banquise is a restaurant in that area that is renowned for their poutines. They have all kinds.

    St-Laurent boulevard is cool too.

You can also walk around the Old Port... It's in Old Montreal, which is really cool too, with cobble-stone streets and old buildings.

Do you like things that have to do with nature & ecology?

One thing we have planned for next time Matt is in town is a visit to the Biodome. Its a really unique nature "museum"...

    http://www2.ville.montreal.qc.ca/biodome/site/site.php?langue=en

It's raining today but the weather is supposed to be great all week.

let me know what you like and I'll give you more details if you want.

  18. My vent this morning is that I didn't like waking up to a new layout on VJ, heh. Or to find out that I lost an hour.

    Damn surprises. :(

    :( yeah I totally agree.

It's hard to read too... it's like the font is super light.

  19. IT SEEMS SO TRIVIAL, BUT I COULD NOT GET THE CONFIRMATION PAGE WITH THE BAR CODE. IS ANYONE OUT THERE THAT CAN COPY AND PASTE A SAMPLE...???

I CAN'T SUBMIT THE FORM ON LINE EITHER....ALL I CAN DO IS TO SAVE IT IN A .DAT FORMAT AND FROM THERE NOTHING........

IT CAN'T BE SO HARD TO GET THIS.....HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I HAVE COMPLETED THE FORM A DOZEN OF TIMES ALLREADY..... WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?

It took me at least 6 attempts to get it to work til the end and print properly.

Saving the form did not work everytime, so even though I had saved it, I couldnt upload the file again after I got error messages. That did work eventually... but not everytime.

Download version 8 of Internet Explorer if you dont already have it. That might help.

Good luck... Keep trying. Most likely it's not you; it's a "pilot program" and it just not perfected yet.

  20. I hate the grocery store at the nearby town. Its so outrageously priced. Unfortunately the next nearest grocery store is 1 hour round-trip away, and if I only need a few things its not worth the drive. This one is only 5 minutes.

The 1.5 quart of ice cream I just bought, nothing special or fancy just Blue Bunny, was $9.25.

The bananas, which are plentiful and cheap everyplace else in Hawaii were $2.45/lb. The cherry on the sundae is that most of the bananas at that price were 40% black on the outside.

I've decided that I'm stupid for shopping there.

    Ouch!

There is a place like that close to Matt's house in Colorado. It's called the Village Market but we call it the Village Markup

Everything is a lot more expensive and the produce sucks.

But we end up going there if it's just to buy a couple of items b/c otherwise the drive isn't worth going to the other supermarket.
