  1. Here is my story...

When I filed my first i-129f petition, I had a lawyer who persisted on getting an engagement certificate, supposedly it would make the case stronger. There are no engagement certificates at my fiance's country, so he got a marriage certificate at a stationery and crossed out all the marriage parts and input engagement. It was approved by USCIS but revoked by the consulate at Islamabad, stating that the beneficiary and the petitioner (which is I) are now married. However, we were not married and that certificate wasn't even registered. It got sent back to USCIS with the reason and is now at USCIS. Our relationship fell apart, so we didn't continue with that petition. This happened a year ago. The petition was revoked in May 2008

I filed a second i-129f petition for a different person (with a different laywer) and it is approved by the USCIS and is at NVC undergoing additional processing. My question here is, will the consulate in Islamabad revoke this petition because of the first petition? My new lawyer wrote that I stated under oath i was never married to my former fiance and do not wish to pursue that petion no more as our relationship fell apart. And my new lawyer says that the petition is now dismissed.

Would the consulate of Islamabad hold up the case as well? Please let me know for those of you who are familiar with the procedures of the consulate in Islamabad or how strict they are.

My fiance knows about my former fiance and why our relationship fell apart.

For those of you who are familiar with how the consulate at Islamabad is, please help me out in giving advice, thank you

As far as my understanding goes, each petition/case is treated separately. You shouldn't have any trouble, but just be prepared to answer any questions (and show proof...) if they are asked down the line. Check the guides here or ask on the forum before you let a lawyer tell you something that doesn't sound right. The guide is usually right!!! Lol make that ALWAYS right! :)

  2. hmm.. first one says that he was found dead at home ... and now he was on the plane...

He had an accident on the plane the day before, injuring his head. Cerebrovascular Accident?

Question is, will Billy's production company keep running his commercials? Who will replace dear Billy? That Shamwow huckster douchebag? We better all start drinking now!

Thing I don't get is how wearing a seatbelt would have any impact on his head getting hit by things falling from above. Circumstances sound similar to the way Liam Neeson's wife died after a fall that hit her head. She was fine after the fall but died soon after due to a subdural hemorrhage. Bet the same thing killedBilly

  3. I used to work at a driving school where they had adult lessons for about $30/lesson. Might be a good way of instilling confidence in yourself if you are having a tough time. Some of the instructors will tell you what sections you need to work on. Just like others said, practice is the best way to improve your abilities. Don't let big American trucks push youaround on the road!

  4. hey guys...got this in the website update:

"On June 26, 2009, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service"

Approved and now gotta wait a month for the interview and what not? what i should get ready for at this moment? i'm happy...wow.... relieved as well...

Congrats!!! Funny you got an email and I didn't. Both Feb 18th NOA1s...we must have had different adjudicators.

  5. OH SNAP!!! Sorry for the double post, but the mail just arrived, AND OUR NOA2 NOTICE WAS IN IT!!!!!!

My online status still shows pending and last touch date of 2/23/2009. FINALLY!

Congrat's mate! Happy for ya!!! Lifting one tonight for you and your SO well being

Thanks Mr. Igor. I'm still in disbelief. It was approved 6/18 and mailed out 6/22 then it arrived 6/26. I can't believe I had been approved for EIGHT days and didn't know about it!

  6. For everyone that's already been approved, where were you on Igor's list when you got your approval? Just curious because I'm going nuts trying to grasp onto something here to get me through the last bit of waiting here...

At the top of Igor's List, where it allows you to select what to display (visa type, service center, etc...) choose All petitions where it says "Show:" Then you can scroll down the list to see where the NOA2's are. Right now yours is # 996. Check that out for a better feel on when yours should come through. I say better feel instead of definite idea, because my should have come through by today, and I've got nothing here yet. Don't let Igor's List run your life!

  7. OMG I JOST GOT MY APPROVAL E-MAILED TO ME. APPROVED ON JUNE 25 2009. I AM SO FREAKING HAPPY. WORDS ESCAPE ME RIGHT NOW. THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR YOUR SUPPORT.

Oh snap Lee!! That's tremendous news!!!!!!! I flew to Dallas and back to Houston today, and I thought to myself, "If Lee gets his today, then finally there is a glimmer of hope for the rest of us." I'm so happy for you. You have been so patient!

  8. I too started to think about our ceremony... If everything goes right with documents, she will be here in the Fall and it's not the best weather to do it outside :( . Haven't seen my love since October :( :( :(

I'm sorry Mr. Igor! Any day now you'll get to the next step. Let's hope she gets here before 1 year of long distance pain passes. At least there should be a lovely changing of colors in the Fall in Boston, right?

  9. To no avail, I contacted my senators & congressman today asking for updates on the requests for assistance I sent in a month ago.

One senator's aide told me that they're on Nov 25 cases (LIES LIES LIES LIES LIES!!!) so give them another month or two since I'm still within current processing time.

The other senator's aide and congressman's aide weren't there. I left a message for one, but the other one's voicemail didn't work. Guess I'll try them again tomorrow.

Maybe I'll try NVC, but I hesitate to do that cause they talk to you like you're crazy for asking for asking them if they received an unapproved petition.

    ------------

So far of all the government people I've spoken with, only one person followed this logic. Does this make sense to anyone else:

If on April 30 they were on cases from November 25 (or 28), then by May 30 they should've been on cases from late December. It's now nearly end of June, so they should be on cases from late January. Even if they're running almost a month behind, I'm STILL outside of processing time.

Exactly the logic I've been trying to use for estimating my approval time. It's 157 days between November 25th and April 30th. Using that logic, one should be able to add about 155-160 days to your NOA1 and expect a response. You would think that the senator's aide would be able to talk to someone that gives them an actual up to date range. VSC seems to have ground to a halt. Haven't seen any evidence of working in a few weeks.

  10. i'll post results. i maybe out of town friday so it maybe early next week. i plan on calling senators office on thursday though. i wasn't sure about march.. that's why i said "perhaps" if it wasn't already sealed i'd delete march but i'm anxious to get it in the mail.

it's very hard not to go totally off on a rant.

Have a good vacation/day away from it all! I hope you can get your mind off of the waiting. :)
