  1. My wife just got done going through the sputum test. It takes three days. She has to go to the clinic every morning to give a sample. It's not painful, they just make you cough so they can get the sample for culture. Tell her to get some cough drops because she will have a minor soar throat the first day. Two days after the sputum test she has to return for the first results (will confirm if she has TB or not)and doctors recommendations. They will culture the sample for the next two months to confirm she does not have TB. If the sample test positive for TB then the treatment takes 7 months. She would have to live in Manila for the 7 months because, St. Luke's has to dispense the drugs daily. Lets not hope for that. Yeah two month delay, it sucks but what can we do but be patient. Good luck and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Did you have to pay for the sputum test? If yes how much?

  2. For those who have experienced using scanned copies during their interview in USEM recently do they really accept scanned copies since my husband sent all the original to NVC. ex. I-1864, W2, checkstub. And does St. lukes also need the original copy of our NOA2? or scanned copy works just fine too with them? please share your experience...thanks in advance.

  3. Hi there I know what you feel right now, My husband and I are been apart for more than year now, We missed spending holidays, birthdays and even Anniversary together. God knows how much we both miss each other. And I have cried so many tears too. But each day passed is one step closer of you being together. You said you talk everyday, I suggest you talk happy stuff, me and my husband are doing farmville together  We are sharing funny videos from youtube, we even join sites that you can upload your picture to see what will be our children look like. And I know everyone here also had thier share of choosing baby names and looking at the internet what is the meaning of that name. My husband always told me that we being apart is just TEMPORARY but once we are back together that is FOREVER. Things happens for a reason and GOD IS ALWAYS GOOD.

  4. A few things...

How new or old is your relationship?

Over what time span have you been chatting everyday?

Also, don't try to over analyze his actions. If you have had a long relationship with him, simply ask him how where he stands with you.

yep...stop over analyzing. First long distance calls are so expensive, the idea of someone calling you especially from BF who lives overseas is really a great feeling but it is so impractical especially if you constantly talk online. If it's bothering you that he is not asking for your number, why not just give it to him and tell him if there is emergency be sure to inform you. Remember he has a life to live too, he has family and friends who needs attention. Be busy with yourself too, if your relationship is new just enjoy it and it should inspire you.

And to answer your question, in our 9 months gf/bf stage he called me on my phone 2 times, when I was so mad at him and when I was sick. We only talked during weekends ( 6 hours at least ) coz we are both busy working. Every 2 weeks I received snail mail from him. He e-mails me almost everyday. After we got married he ask me to stop working, coz he don't like to see me only once a week. Now we talk every night and 2 times on weekends. cards and letters, and e-mails from his work account. FB and FS messages too.

  5. After Choice Of Agent (DS-3032) comes AOS (I - 864) bill. Then comes IV (DS - 230) bill. For a faster process always pay the fees online. It took me 3 days in total to clear AOS & IV Bill STATUS as "PAID:.Navigate to URL below & study :

    http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/LingChe_NVC_ShortCut

Is it advisable to send AOS package and DS230 package at the same time, here is the thing, we are waiting for AOS to show paid and today we received the Choice oF agent for the IV bill and I know next is the IV package instruction after we pay the IV bill.

  6. We got both of our approved NOA2 I-130 & I-129f in mail this week, I told him to wait a week to call NVC. I was reading the guide to CR1, Its says there before NVC process our packet from USCIS, that I should send this documents to my husband... DS3032,MC/BC/PCC is this true? Should I print the DS230 now and send it also to my husband? I was trying to do the barcode thing on DS3032, the guide says I should encode the CASE NUMBER, Is this mean the case number from NVC? I was reading the guide over and over again, my husband wants to do the K3, I hope someone will shed me some light with this so I can explain the CR1 to my husband.

  7. I have found that for the past 2 times I was in the Philippines, the exchange rate right at the Manila airport was better than anything I found here in the states...

Make sure he has your cell number so he can call you from the pay phones inside customs.

Also, if I recall correctly, you do not NEED to wait across the street... When I walked out the exit doors after clearing customs, on MY right hand side, there was a waiting area just outside the fence, where my beautiful lady was bouncing up and down waiting for me.

Have a great time and remember, while I don't want to be a party pooper, these things sometimes don't work out. Enjoy your time together and let the future sort itself out.

    -Phil

That is so true, but on my experience the night I pick up my husband the dollar is around 48.20,the next day we checked it was 48.80, I know it's just a small difference but I'm glad we waited, That's why my husband call me KURIPOT.

  8. Hi there, I've browsed around this forum for a while before taking a deep breath and finally deciding to register. I think you guys are really friendly and helpful, so I've come for some help.

I met my boyfriend online and he is coming here to Manila next week. He is flying Continental all the way. Are there any special instructions or tips we should know? For example, I know for domestic flights, PAL charges a terminal fee of 200 PHP. Will NAIA charge my boyfriend for something similar? Would it be a good idea for me to send him local currency through Western Union?

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks in advance! :star::star: :star:

Hope this thing help you meeting your boyfriend...

    1. Make sure what terminal his plane is landing... Most international flights use Terminal 1 ( NAIA ) you can ride jeep going there it's easy and cheap.

    2. Be early ( I was late so my husband don't know if he will kiss me or beat me when I got there, scared the hell out of him ) There is a waiting area for relatives in front of the arrival area... you better go on the second floor so you can see clearly who comes out the arrival area. and there are TV monitors showing the flights that just arrived. Expect a lot of people at the waiting area( it was a two story building ), there is no way he can see you. It's only you who can recognize him.

    3. No fees as long he's clear to Phil. Immigration and got his bags ask him to go to arrival area. There are letters on the arrival area, he doesn't have to go to the letter that starts his name just talk and make arrangements what letter he should stand.

    4. If your boyfriend is confuse tell him to ask to security guards or people who have name tags or ID's showing they do work at airport. And ask your boyfriend to remember name tags if he did need to ask around.

    5. You are not allowed to go to the arrival area not unless you already saw your boyfriend... if you already saw your boyfriend...ask the security guard to let you pass to pick your boyfriend.

    6. There are authorized money changer at the airport, but I suggest you should bring your own money, I mean peso, we have to consider the exchange rate and sometimes at airports the exchange rate are low.

    7. There are authorized Taxi service at the arrival area,Ask around where is the booth for authorized taxi airport. You just have to pay at the counter, prize depends on where are you going ( be clear on the address ex. your going at quezon city make sure they are not charging you for the prize of quezon province ). Just wait and the taxi will come to you and just present the receipt to the driver.

    8. If your going to pick him up with your own transportation, Your jeep, car or van stays at the parking lot, it won't be allowed to go or park at the arrival area. If your Bf is with you already, you can text or call someone to pick you up.

    9. If you can call him up while waiting for him to come out in arrival area, please do so, it will make him feel so much safer and it takes all the worries away.

Sorry if this is too long, I wish someone told me this things before...but don't be afraid to commit small mistakes, in time it will serves as MEMORIES. And don't forget to pee before meeting him... when My husband ask me " How are you?"... I said I need to pee. hahahaha Enjoy each other company and good luck.

  9. Your Fiancee can only get the Legal Capacity in US Embassy Manila ( counter-part yun nung CENOMAR sa tin ). Be there before 10am, ( no phone or drinking water inside your bag ) Be sure to bring ID and your Fiancee's passport. The security guard will direct you which window you will go. There's a number, get a number, your fiancee will give his passport to the lady at the window, they will give you a form to fill up, so better bring ballpoint pen, Know your address, much better if you write the address where your marriage will took place. Pay $30 or peso equivalent amount. There is a little interview too, you and your fiancee. The whole process wont take more than 30 minutes, I suggest you find someone who works in your Municipality, so you don't have to wait 10 days and attend some seminar. It would cost you but worth all the trouble really. ( This is my experience, hope it will help you )

  10. You can relax...you need a police clearance from Singapore if you lived there for 6 months or more. However you will have to mention that trip on your DS-157 form later.

Sorry if I'm being obtuse, but did you guys get asked for a police clearance? And what did you guys get? A paper from the local police department or something from NBI? I heard from someone about the latter being the right one but I wanted to make sure it was. My interview is this Friday and I don't want to mess up on just a single piece of paper.

    Thanks.

Police clearance is only needed if you had stayed out of Philippines for more than 6 months. You should get one in the country (outside PI) where you stayed or worked. But if you never fly outside PI since birth then all you need is NBI clearance.

I STAYED in Singapore for 12 days, Company Training, does it mean I need to get Police clearance there? Sorry guys I'm confused.

Thanks Marriedtomrg, And Congrats with your Approval, have a safe flight you and Pippo, been following your journey silently, GOD is very good indeed.

  12. Me and my Fiancee, husband now had the same problem when he came here for the first time, He's asking me what should he bring for my parents and family. Before he did some buying, we talk about his budget, It would be hard to discuss at first, but you should be honest with the money stuff. Your right with the MANO PO thing and learn basic tagalog or much better the dialect she's using, It would earn you some brownie points. Maybe don't have to do the kissing of the hand stuff and would be safer for you. As for the gifts, Bring something special for the parents but don't have to be expensive. If you can just bring a lot of chocolates, This is for the siblings, niece, nephew, uncle and unties. Her father works for the government maybe he wants to show off, But I suggest you talk to your girl, as much as possible keep everything low profile. You don't want to caught the attention of kidnappers and robbers. I'm not scaring you but this are facts. Not sure with used clothes coz definitely the family will notice its either they will appreciate it or be offended. That's why chocolates is better, plus if your doing 3 connecting flights, you don't want to chase your extra baggage on the airport. I mean if the girl really loves you, she don't care how much money you bring, And you don't want her to see you as a money bank. Plan everything out, and enjoy your time with her.

  13. Yung experience nung neighbor Ko> She's been eating a lot choclates coz the husband just got home from Abroad. Nung naubos tsaka sia nakaramdam ng kakaiba, nung nagpatingin sia, Diabetes na daw, although the family had history of diabetes, but the choclate trigger her disease. Alam namin natin na yung mga bagay na sobra nakakasama rin, Di kita tinatakot pero pray ka na lang na its just overwork. God Bless
