  1. Passed the NCLEX! I'm now a Registered Nurse in the US! Glory to God! :-) Next test to pass: THAT sputum culture! Going on 3 weeks! Whew!

      Hi, Ana! No, it won't be a problem on the interview. Its only effect on your application is the slight delay (2 months for the sputum culture, and if you're positive on either the smear or culture, a 6-month treatment will ensue plus another 2-month culture at the end). As for us, we've already been treated before, so the the chance of becoming positive is close to zero. Our delay will only be 2 months. PM me when you've started your K1 journey and I'll give you tips.

      Ok. Thanks alot kikay! That really boosted my confidence and gave me hope. If its not too much to ask, I just would like to ask again if you did something to prepare for the sputum culture. I read somewhere that somebody could be negative on sputum smear but could be positive on sputum culture.. Now i just would like to ask if you did any preparation for your sputum culture examination? so at least i can prepare as early as now and avoid delays in the future. thnx kikay. :-)

      No preparation needed. Someone told me I should've taken anti-TB meds before the sputum test for 2-3 weeks so I'd surely be negative, but I don't want to mess with my body, knowing that this could put me at risk for developing multi-drug resistant TB in case the infection re-emerges.
