Hi, Ana! No, it won't be a problem on the interview. Its only effect on your application is the slight delay (2 months for the sputum culture, and if you're positive on either the smear or culture, a 6-month treatment will ensue plus another 2-month culture at the end). As for us, we've already been treated before, so the the chance of becoming positive is close to zero. Our delay will only be 2 months. Ok. Thanks alot kikay! That really boosted my confidence and gave me hope. If its not too much to ask, I just would like to ask again if you did something to prepare for the sputum culture. I read somewhere that somebody could be negative on sputum smear but could be positive on sputum culture.. Now i just would like to ask if you did any preparation for your sputum culture examination? so at least i can prepare as early as now and avoid delays in the future. thnx kikay. :-)

No preparation needed. Someone told me I should've taken anti-TB meds before the sputum test for 2-3 weeks so I'd surely be negative, but I don't want to mess with my body, knowing that this could put me at risk for developing multi-drug resistant TB in case the infection re-emerges.
