A cool handbag, a lightweight soft natural fiber scarf and some shades? And chocolates too!
Thank You all again! I just want to have something she will love. Since she has been in Aruba so long, Im sure she misses things from the Philippines. I was hoping to have some chocolates shipped to my address in the US and I will bring them to Aruba... Im having a hard time finding the belgian chocolate from the Phils that will ship to the US. I'll figure something out
Anything else that you guys think she may miss alot from home?

Hi JosMeg12!
I have a Belgian friend here named Benoit Nicolay, he and his wife Cathy make and sell Belgian chocolates. (Benoit is a chocolatier based here in Parañaque City.)
You should visit his website. Not only is his chocolate delicious, but you can be assured of great value for your money. They are in very pretty and sophisticated-looking packaging. Am sure your girl's Tita will be pleased.

Hope this helps.
Thank you all for your responses! I will keep chocolate in mind and jewelry ... I would love to get her a nice neclace or something.. im not positive she has her ears pierced. She rarely ever dresses up because she is a "nanny" for her wealthier sister in Aruba. I will have to find out if she wears gold or silver?Thank You so much! I will definitely check it out.. I am the USC, the female
Ive seen that is very uncommon. I wonder if the embassy will do a double take on that one!

hi...a follow-up..i got this link from Sheriff Uling's post stating:
Petitioners Attendance at the Visa Interview: The petitioner is NOT required to attend the visa interview with the beneficiary, and will NOT be asked any questions during the visa interview. In fact, some COs request for the petitioner to continue waiting in the lobby. Approximated 90% of the visa interviews are held WITHOUT the attendance of the petitioner, according to VJ member(s).
On the contrary, i found this http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Philippines&cty=Manila stating
Can fiance(e)/spouse attend the interview? Yes
Visa fee payment "same day" or "in advance"? Advance
Did the embassy schedule your interview or could you walk-in? Walk-in or Schedule
Visa issued same day? No
im confuse now..who's right then???
Its up to the individual consular officer whether you are allowed into the actual interview room with your fiancee. You cannot be denied from entering the embassy and waiting with your fiancee.
I was actually asked questions by both the pre-screener and the consular officer.
I highly recommend attending the interview with your fiancee. It will put her at ease and, assuming everything is in order, virtually guarantee your approval. They did not ask for any proof of an ongoing relationship from us ... no pictures, emails, phone records were asked for or provided.
We asked if we could pick up the visa instead of having it delivered. We picked it up just 2 days after the interview. Then we were able to fly back to the US together which was really cool (and not having your fiancee have to go through the POE alone is another plus).
So how long did you allow yourself in the Philippines? Did you go just for the interview, then fly back a few weeks later? I would love to go with my fiance to his interview, im just not sure the amount of time I should be there before I can take him home with me

Thank you so much for your reply.. im so glad everything went smoothly for you. He will remain in Aruba until we receive the NOA2 and then he will head home. So I guess either way it doesnt matter where they send it, because we DID put that we will be going through the Consulate in Manila. And his Grandmother lives at the address he put down in the Phillippines. I will however change his current address with the USCIS incase they send it to Aruba. Ugh its so confusing having 3 different countries involved. Again, Thank you so much, its good to know there are others our there with a similar situation.

So the address in Aruba? We are going to have to notify them of his change of address then obviously, right?

Hi everyone! I just have a question.. anyone have a case where the beneficiary is living in a country other than their home country where the US Embassy will be processed through?
Reason I ask is my fiancee is in Aruba, but will be going home to the Philippines for his interview. Our NOA 2 is only a few months away and I was curious to where they would send the information for him, to Aruba or Philippines?
To make things even more complicated, he will be moving as of Sept 1st...to another apartment in Aruba.. only for a few months before he goes home to the Phillipines..so do we need to do a change of address?
The reason we did not go through the embassy in Venezuela is because he is not a resident of aruba, they did not approve his renewal of his work permit, eventhough he has been there for 9 years. But he is currently in appeals with that.. Nothing is easy! Especially waiting... I know everyone knows that! I just dont want any confusion with anything when the NOA 2 does evenutally come. Any replies would be greatly appreciated, I read through VJ for hours and hours on end and I decided I should just write and ask and see if anyone can help. Thank you all in advance and God Bless
Megan

I am also in the same boat.. We filed May 31st and our NOA1 date is June 3. But, I filed with VSC.. They basically have the same processing times as CSC? I also can not find the link .. But good luck to everyone.. Im getting anxious eventhough we have a few months to go. But Ive been passing the time trying to figure out the steps to do after the NOA2. Its all so overwhelming! Im still having a bit trouble understanding exactly what happens next.
-
I just have a quick question and I appreciate everyone for reading..
After we get married while we are applying for AOS, say the processing times are longer than the 3 months we get to marry...Does my Fiancee have to leave the US? Or can he stay here while the case is pending? Thank You all for your time.

QUESTION TO THE USCs: Does your wife really try to teach you Tagalog?
My wife really doesn't teach me, she will correct me and giggle, but I learn more from "The Rosette Stone" computer program and "Before You Know It" mp3 file.
Personally, I think them Pinays are keeping their language a secret.
But now I know to look when she goes "psssst", and to get what she is pointing her lips at!
I am cracking up right now! My fiancee also points his lips when he sees somehting he wants to point out to his friends! I tease him and do it to him on the webcam... soo funny!
-
Congrats! I cant wait till the day I see that for my case!
Seems to me that the California Service Center has a much quicker turn around than the VSC. Anyone else notice that?

He can go back to the Philippines... and he will...we just were hoping we could do most of the work while hes still in Aruba, and then he can go to the Philippines for the interview. But the police paperwork will have to be from Aruba Police, right? Since thats where he resided for the past 10+ years?
-
We put Manila, Philippines for question 20, because Aruba doesnt have an embassy there, he would have to go to Venezuela.. but he cant leave Aruba!
Above will answer all questions? What do you mean? read other posts?
Thank You!
He posted this ->

Hi Everyone! My name is Megan and I first of all want to say that we sent our I-129F out TODAY! yay!!
I have a few questions here..
1) My fiance is a citizen of the Philippines...but hes living in Aruba. We met while I was vacationing there.. he was on a work visa, which has since expired. Aruba did not renew his permit.. which he is now appealing.. We know he will have to go back to the Philippines to do the interview, but on our I-129F paperwork we just put his Aruba address.. will this be a problem?
Also, When the I-129F gets approved, I, the petitioner, will be notified with the NOA2, right? Then what happens? I know there is alot of paperwork we could be getting ready in the mean time if someone could point me in the right direction i would really appreciate it!
One more thing
Can he, while still in Aruba, set up the interview date and all that in the Phillipines eventhough hes not there yet? The thing is, once he leaves Aruba, he wont be able to go back, because his permit is no longer valid. He's lived there for 12 years, and all of his friends are there so he is trying to stay as long as possible... This is my first time doing any of this, and I see how much help everyone is to eachother. Just reading posts makes me feel so much more at ease with this lonnng process! Thank you everyone in advance!
