It is strongly recommended that you supply 3 years of tax returns, a current employment letter and recent pay stubs.
In my tax practice I recommend to clients with immigration interviews to also bring (in addition to the tax return copies) the last 3 years of tax return TRANSCRIPTS.
Regardless of the minimum requested documentation and requirements, providing sufficient proof of income and income stability is good idea.
Good luck!

In the last two years I have traveled to the Dominican Republic 6 times and last May I traveled to Medellin, Colombia. My last two returns from DR via JFK customs did not stamp my US passport. The first time I thought it was a mistake, so this time I asked for the customs officer to stamp my passport, he REFUSED and said NO. Every other trip abroad has a US reentry stamp on passport. My travel to Colombia was via JFK, passport was stamped on return. All the other trips including April 2009 via Newark, NJ, passport stamped.
I’m curious as to what’s going on? Is this new with JFK, or a new policy by US Customs?

From what you wrote it seems that she has an agenda and she's done with you.
She might have been in love and fell out of love, but it looks like she's not in love with you anymore.
I'm sorry to hear that, it happens, I've been there.
Now you need to start to think and be smart.
She's been calculating, be very careful.
NEVER loose your temper, avoid any conflicts.
Even though it's painful, cut your losses and move on.
Being vindictive at this point can backfire.
Protect yourself, your assets, credit cards, bank accounts
THINK before you act.
The sooner you can get a clean separation the better. Sleeping with the enemy or a stranger is not a good thing.
Good luck

I'm not that familiar with the IR-1 / CR-1 process, your culture or the process at your embassy.
I'm new here and going through the K-1 process myself.
My area of expertise is taxation and how it relates to the immigration process.
Update your timeline and basic information, it helps others and someone reading your post might be familiar with your process and can provide some feedback.

I'm an accountant & tax preparer.
I run into this problem quite often at my office.
At this point you are definitely getting the run around.
Call Blockbuster again, remain cool calm and collected.
Verify your address on record that they have.
At this point insist on them faxing you a copy of the w-2 within hours,
24 hours at the most. If not, threaten that you are going to call the Internal Revenue Service and/or your state's division of taxation and labor department. Have the phone numbers for all three agencies written down before you call Blockbuster, threaten in a professional matter.
The Internal Revenue Service is 1-800-829-1040, I believe you're in California, like New Jersey and New York, California should be very helpful, they are very pro-government and anti business. I'm sure that Blockbuster doesn't want an investigation into the matter.
I always suggest to tax payers to ALWAYS keep paystubs. This is proof of employment and you can recreate a W-2 in case of an emergency and lack of cooperation from an employer with the last paystub in a tax year from an employer. I'm sure he's lost or discarded his paystubs, that's not going to work.
Keep me posted on your progress.

Your welcome and good luck!

Nice work!
Those were plastic sleeves with copies of the docs inside each sleeve?
I guarantee you that the VSC employee yelled "Hey, guys, look at this one!!!"

The K-1 & K-2 are the type of visa.
You paid the fee last year with the 129F application and further fees at the consulate.
Once you get married, (within 90 days), you file for AOS

I think you mean June 15, 2009 and not 2007?

A lot of employers (if not most) don't keep track of when green cards expire.
They usually check those things when hiring new employees.

Hey, relax!
You're a few weeks ahead of me, sending a poke like that could make a hole in my file, it's a few bins behind yours.

When you get a chance update your timeline it helps others with similar cases.
You have two issues, they are related but not the same.
First, your wife's taxes. On the surface it seems it's not a problem, she filed for naturalization and her personal income tax issue did not come up during the process.
She probably didn't have taxable income, from w2's (issued by an employber) or 1099's (issued by a vendor when you are self-employed), interest income, pension or retirement, etc. So I don't believe that's an issue.
Second, you need verified income that proves that you and your dependents, if any, will not become a public burden. If your wife doesn't have sufficient income, that's where the sponsor becomes important. If she's currently working and earning above the poverty level guidelines maybe someone else in this forum can provide information on how important the previous 3 years of earnings history is.
As far as your relationship and how much you know and love each other, it's relevant to establish that you have a real relationship, it's irrelevant in establishing that you and your wife can put food on top of the table and stay off the welfare roles.
Good luck

It is my understanding that pictures are secondary evidence substantiating primary evidence such as stamped passport, boarding passes, hotel receipts, etc. I think you might get an RFE, at that point you can send the old (again) and new primary evidence with the new pictures (secondary evidence).

I was under the impression that co-sponsors were not accepted on K-1 visas.
Is that not so?

Question?
Does he have tax returns? Has he filed?
Maybe he has a business and hasn't filed?

I called them to require further information regarding our case and they told me they are currently working on cases from november 08 and it will be 2 months to get to ours! what a load of rubbish! I even said to her that cases were being accepted that were in January and febuary and all she said was "theres nothing I can do". I swear to god this better be BS! or else I'm calling off the K-1 and were moving to England and doing a K-3 because there is no freakin way that its right we should have to wait 7 months when some get theres in 3-4 and when I call them on it they just say "what do you want us to do about it". Absolute BS!!!!
Hang in there. You're 4 and a half months ahead of me.
It is what it is, logic and uscis have nothing in common.
A while back I lost my original Naturalization Certificate, a few years ago I applied for a replacement!!!!
Unreal, expensive and it took 14 months for the replacement to arrive.
In the mean time I was in limbo, after 9-11 things changed, if I lost my driver's license or had it stolen I wouldn't of been able to replace it.
Now think of the logic, If I hit a cop in the mouth how long before the government can figure out who I am?
Yet it takes uscis 14 months to provide it on paper for you!!
Maybe things can change one day,
Good luck

Yes, it's exactly that - severe financial loss. The rest I cannot disagree more on though - he paid for semester after getting enrolled into University because he might still get here on time. But since the K1 is getting delayed, he might not make it and his enrollment for semester will be void, but the money is non-returnable!. So how is that not a sever financial loss? There should be other scenarios than cleaning out the house by family members. What scenario is accepted or not will I guess depend on the officer who reviews it. My question was more about - what IF they decide the reason was not good enough - can that negatively affect entire K1 process?
Ok, I can tell you this. You will have MUCH better chance of going to the university and pleading your case. The USCIS won't care. The university might. I would make an appointment with the enrollment office or financial office and tell them the situation. It is far more likely they will credit you the money paid for the next semester. They will likely not refund the money, but give you future credit. Really, your chances are 10,000% better of that happening

Thanks I Kinda knew that... I was more hoping for the year he was kept in jail although he was inocent. Which was really the reason we did not apply while we still had time.
Thanks...
He's going to need a passport, period. He has to make a current trip to establish the engagement and it is highly recommended he attend the interview at the consulate at the appropriate time.
Suggestion!
I believe, not sure, but I believe that he might be able to get a waiver from the local family court for a passport, he needs to consult a family court attorney.
If the court feels he's not a flight risk they might issue an order allowing it.
Not sure what jurisdiction his child support case is from, but usually paternity and child support are established at a point in time.
Here in New Jersey, for example, child support payments begin to accrue at the earliest on the first hearing date at a court appearance. It doesn't go back in time to the moment of birth because the father didn't know he had a child. It might be possible he doesn't have his facts in order, might have moved and had an outstanding case, etc.
Good luck.

You're ahead of yourself if you think cashing the check means anything significant.
Thank you for your info
On the back of the canceled check you will find your case number which will let you track your case online.
It will be in your NOA1 document which arrives days later.
But sit back and wait, it will be months before it's "touched" again.
You will either get a NOA2 or a RFE at some point.
I'm on the same boat, waiting.............
Good luck.

Technically ITIN numbers are not valid for employment. But in practice they are used all the time, this is one of the reasons that the IRS stopped issuing them with cards similar to SS cards years ago.
If the employer doesn't care and knows the facts about his legal status he will be ok.
The advantage his employer has is that this is the beginning of the third quarter for payroll purposes, payroll reports will not be issued until October for the quarter ending September 30th (July, August, September), plenty of time to correct the ss number issue.
Congratulations and good luck!!
