  1. Hey guys,

Thanks for answering. I received a Request for Further Evidence, through my email and the hard copy is not yet in hand. I was wondering if I can call to the USCIS to find out what are the papers they need so I can accelerate the process. Also which is the formal way to send the papers, do they need a "cover letter" as with the K-1 visa pettition we are filling for? How much time do we have to respond to this RFE, and how long, normally do they take to answer.

Please!!!! help!!! we do not need more time waiting.. we've had enough and gone through enough!!!

  2. Thank you for all your answers and, since I did not give you that much detail so you can judge for yourselves, here it goes: We met online, as most of us who are in this forum did. We used to chat for about 4 to 5 hours daily and he was so nice and thoughtful, he made me fall in love again after 14 years I divorced my first husband.

He came down here to my country, talked to both my parents, my son, my brothers and sisters and propossed on my birthday. He told me I should sell all my stuff in order to travel to the States, and I should quit my job, in order to focus in the selling and the papers.

He went to work to California and, since his schedule is so busy. He would tell me the hours I could call, which I did and never missed an opportunity to feed the relationship with tenderness and love, since it is so hard to keep long distance relationships.

He is a surfer so most of the weekend he spend surfing and spending time with his friends, which was cool on my side, only instead of the four to eight hours he spent doing that, I once told him that we could use one or two hours of that time to catch up on our lives and how things were. He just lost it, and said I wanted to make him quit surfing, that he was not going to have that and that the relationship was over. I was very confused, but he called and he apologized for that and, blaming it on the stress, I said everything was okay.

Then the filling of the papers came and I found out that he had lied about several things: he is a divorced man, when he told me he was single. He has a 28 year old son, whom he never saw or wanted to find out about. He also lied about being a recovery alcoholic which I found out when he sent the two DUI's he had back in the day, for the visa paperwork.

He told me all kinds of excuses for this facts. He said that he was afraid he would loose me if he found out this things, and this time I forgot him again (me the vendictive one!).

Time passed and the chats on the cam, and the time we would spend together, were down to almost nothing. He started to give all kinds of excuses saying he was the only one who did all the work in the house (living with two roommates), so he said he had to do dishes, he had to clean, he had to do whatever, so he could not talk that long.

Everytime I pointed this to him, he would say I was no good to him, I was dishonest, I was a lyar and that the relationship was over, and he made sure I'd find out that he had oppened profiles on dating sites.

Last time I was feeling kind of stressed and a little bit deppressed because my son was going to stay here in the country and franckly, I was feeling insecure due to his behaviour.

Anyways I told him how I felt and asked him to find a different way to handle pressure, to find it in his heart to treat me in a different way when we had a discussion, because those things really hurt me and that, as much as I gave him support, I would like his comfort and support due to this nerve wrecking process.

What I got is he saying that he was perceiving a deppressive pattern on me, and that the relationship was finally over.

I used the money I had from the selling of all my things to pay debt. And since the world crisis is so big, the unemployment rate is almost impossible here in my country, anyways right now I think I'm going to have a job by next week, so I can start from scratch.

Now you have all the facts, you can judge from a different perspective and hope all this information was usefull.

Thank you all for your help.

  3. Recently, I sent out the first package to the california service center. With all docs. needed. As you all must feel the same as kirsteen and I (exceited) to start our lives together. I am being pressed by her everyday with questions about this k1 process and trying to do my best not to screw things up. I would also like to know to. Could anyone tell me from past experiance "IF THE SERVICE CENTER CASHIES MY CHECK" does that mean it has been approved for the first part ? Or am i getting ahead of myself. If it is going tobe sent back to me because of an RFE do they usally cash the check anyway?

More than a speed race, this is an endurance race... hahahahaha!!!! You are going to need all the love and patience you have, and acquire a lot more along the way.

Afeter the cheque is cleared, The NOA1 arrives to your mail, Then you have to wait with a loooot of patience, because this is the most stressful part of the journey... (about 4 to 6 months to go), in order to receive your NOA2. In the mean time you can receive a RFE, and you have to answer to it sending whatever documents de USCIS requires to prove you are in a bona fide relationship, Then some more waiting.... until one sunny, lucky, happy day, you receive your NOA2, this document means your case has been approved and then it goes to the NVC (National Visa Center), where it can stay for a period of 2 weeks or more... Then the NVC sends your approved package to the Embassy/Consulate of the country of your fiancee and there, depending on the country (have to check the Embassy Review Forum on this site), they call her to let her know that she has to fill some more papers and take a medical exam. With those papers you pay the Consulate fee and a PIN to call to make an appointment, and then they give you the date of the interview....

In rough terms this is how the process goes, so again... PATIENCE MY FRIEND!!!! you are going to need lots and lots of it!!!

Wish you guys a speedy process and God bless ya!!!

  5. Wow, I'm glad to know that my SO and I are not the only ones having huge fights. Like ya'll we hardly ever had arguments when we were together and now it just seems like every other day it's something. I'm just glad that he too said that we were arguing so much b/c of the distance.

Also, I have gained like 15 lbs b/c of all the stress(i'm a stress eater) and he has lost weight :)

But I just started going to a zumba class and it seems to help me with the stress and frustrations that I have. Not only that but I want to look good when I see him in August :D

Welcome to the club... :P It is very good that you are going to zumba classes, that will help a lot with the stress, and you will look very goooood when you guys get back together!!! I guess in a few weeks we are all going to whole different story to tell..... I am starting my jogging on monday, I really need a physical activitie so I can keep my mind busy.

Let's hope for the best guys...

  6. You hang in there and keep trying to communicate. This is all stress related, I swear! We never used to argue or fight about anything but these days just about every little thing grows into something bigger than necessary. You come talk to us anytime you need to.

I second that. Don't be shy. Just knowing I'm not the only one doing this makes me feel better. Maybe I'm not such a bad guy afterall. Boring, yes; bad guy, no. :)

And with a tinsy tiny black humour going on!!!!! You guys are just too much!!!! Thank you!!! (L)

  7. Thank you guys, this really means a lot to me. I have not talked to my SO in a week, we broke up and right now Im really devastated I do not know what is going to happen and at this point of my life I sold everything I owned and since we decided I was going to focus on the papers and selling my stuff and getting everything ready to leave my life behind to be with him.... I feel it really sucks!!!

Sorry for venting here, I know this is a visa - related forum, it is just you guys probably now exactly how I feel.

    Im really sad.... :crying:

  9. Its me again :)

I would like to know if the US Embassy accept police records from internet?

My interview will be on next week I have everything good to go :)

and some people said that they accept .. but some others are syaing they dont ?

    What should I do ?

    Thnks a lots

    Hey!

If I were you, just to be on the safe side, I would go to a Civil Register Office in your country and get the original, legalize it with all the stamps that are required, and properly translated into english. It is always better to be well prepared to avoid unnecesary delays.... Best wishes on your interview!!!

  10. Hello, i'm planning to marry a girl from ecuador , so my question is what do i need to have in order to marry her, which will help bring her here when i petition her. What forms do i need to have.

For what I gather, you want to marry your fiancee in Ecuador. You are going to need; your passport, an authorization from the US Embassy, a statement in the Us Embassy that you are free to marry, if you were previously married, a divorce decree with its legalization in the Ecuadorian Embassy in your city and a translation to spanish. Also she is going to need her birth certificate, her valid Ecuadorian ID, her certificate of the last election, if she was married before, a divorce decree legalized in the Registro Civil and, if she has children, a special document called CURADURIA AD LITEM, which is a paper that names a legal guardian for her children (this is a paper that is made by a lawyer and takes 4 to 6 months to be ready) -I have a really good, honest lawyer who can do that for you-

Then with all these papers, you have to go to the Registro Civil, pay $6 bucks if you want to marry there or $60 bucks if you want to marry at her house.

I hope this information was usefull.

  13. Hi all

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

    Everyone keep your chin's up..

    Better days are coming !

    Hi Everyone!!!

Have a happy week, lets all expect excellent news. I was reading that the processing of the background check of the FBI and the USCIS is almost done. Maybe this was the reason of the whole delay we have been put through.

    Lets stay strong and together.

  14. Hi we applied in March for K-1 VIsa, my fiancee lives in the UK. We already received our first Notice and are awaiting our second. I don't really have any questions, but I do like that I have a place where I can vent about "HOW FRIGGIN' MUCH I MISS HIM" :crying: and how tired I am of everyone asking me if he is marrying me just for his papers. I find it insulting, frustrating and dissapointing that I almost have to declare and explain our love. I honestly find that at times I am not prepared for this line of questioning. It feels as though I have to have some sort of explanation in the wings, besides we love each other and want to marry. I don't want to over-react to it, as I know and try to remember that it is coming from a place of love. So any suggestions?

Hey!!! First of all, welcome to this site. If you want to join all of us march fillers, go to the forums and find the march fillers family. Now, yes. I totally agree with you. This is a very draining, stressful process. The only thing I can say to you is HANG IN THERE, have the best attitude you can and be strong, in the end it is going to be all worthed, because you get to be with the love of your life... :P Your are not alone...

    Kata.

  15. Yes trying to plan a wedding while dealing with USCIS is beyond frustrating. I think everything would just feeel so much better if we had a DATE or a better IDEA of WHEN we can get married.

Question for everyone: Who here has a lawyer? I'm curious who else is using one.

My lawyer says I can't give my fiance the stuff (the 'what to send to your fiance after you receive NOA2 stuff') listed on visa journey, he says HE has to mail it to my fiance himself. But I was going to give my fiance everything in person next time I see him to save the postage (mailing everything to denmark will be so expensive!).

I am using an attorney... mostly because I found VJ after hiring them... but they have been pretty good so far... IF you give your SO everything... then your attorney doesn't feel like they have done their job :) and might have an attack of conscience and want to refund your money!

 Not any lawyers I have ever known!!

Welcome Giulia to the March family!!!! Well this waiting and waiting and waiting really is, not only stressfull but emotionally draining as well... Let's all keep our spirits high and our minds busy....

Missmissy Im so happy your daughter is spending time at your house, that is going to help you cope with all this process really well...

In my case, my fiance hired a lawyer and it was a relly smart thing to do, because since they deal with this processes every day it will prevent us to get a RFE, and will simplify the process (I hope!!!! )

The only thing I dread is that, from what I have been reading in the forums, I have to go to the worst Consulate in the world: Guayaquil. Everybody agrees that the presence of the petitioner is MANDATORY, because all sorts of awfull things had happened there!!! so, that is one mor expense to this already expensive process, not to mention extra stress...

Sometimes I feel Im loosing it and last week it was a hard time for me and my fiance due to the pressure. We only need to keep in mind that is is the door to be with the love of your life and that is going to pay off latter when we all are happy and really appreciating what we have since it was so hard to get.

Congratulations to all of us, because this type of process is only for extraordinary, strong and faithfull people.

  16. Welcome to the group, Kayse! The waiting stinks, but it's great to be able to share the experience and draw strength from others. These timelines moving the wrong way are driving me batty. I need to find more to occupy my time. However, in light of Missy's experience, I'm delaying plans that involve ladders and leaves.

Well despite the rain, I managed to pull and spray 2 of my 4 garden beds and plant some grass seed this weekend. I bought some photo frames and will work on photos later today or maybe next weekend. Its a dreary weekend in Atlanta with all the rain, but we need it so I won't complain (too much) :)

    Richard

I am at open house today - yucky weather and only two tire-kickers out so far. You guys in Atlanta need the rain. It will take awhile to recover from the drought you've had there. And speaking of Marietta - we LOVE white water park!!! And the yellow river deer park....I think that's the name of the place.

Well, speaking about plans to keep our minds occupied... I didnt knit since I was 16, now I have about 10 new scarfs and no yarn left in the house!!! lol!!! lets all visualize everything speeds up and we finally get to be reunited with our loved ones....

Have a beautiful week everyone!!!!

A fellow knitter!! I am SO excited to know this. I taught myself to knit a few years ago and this past year I have knit so many things. Right now I'm working on Christmas Stockings. We have to trade pictures of our knitting! (as you guys can see, I am really excited about this!)

We will!!! I will take pictures of my knitting and post them so we can see each others work. My mom taught me when I was 8 or so and my grandmother taught my mother when she was the same age.. Will love to see those christmas stockings.... :star:
