  1. Thank you, Jress.

Well, placed a call yesterday to USCIS and inquire about biometric with a live person. The person told me that they submitted a service request and will have about 15 days turn around. Hoping that will solve the issue.

Just want to be clear on this. If we're not going out of country while still in I-751 process (after receiving the NOA for extending 1 year), we don't have to get anything like stamp on our passport , right?

  2. Hi! I sent my package May 15th and it was received at CSC on May 17th. I didn't receive my NOA or my biometrics letter yet, despite my check being cashed on June 5th. (However, I did call and was given my receipt number- when I looked this up, it confirmed that USCIS received on May 17th).

    Hi, Jress.

It seems you're in the same boat as I am for the biometric. I haven't received it yet while everyone else seems to get it......

I think it's about time for me to call the USCIS. Which option that you chose to speak to a live person?

  3. Hello, People.

Wondering if you guys are experiencing the same issue as I do.

Are you guys able to check the status online? I received NOA, still waiting for bio appointment letter.

But on the uscis website, when i tried to check on status, it shows that the case is not there....

    Is this normal?

Also, I'm receiving weird letter from National Visa center saying that they are unable to process my inquiry that has been forwarded by US Department of Homeland Security. I'm not sure if this is even related to the I-751 package.

I'm trying to contact their customer service, but unable to find the option to talk to real person. Does anyone have the information for this?

    Thank you

  4. Hi, everyone.

We're still preparing our I-751 package.

    However, I noticed that we're supposed to file AR-11 & I-865 for change of address . :(

From further reading, it seems to be okay to file these 2 forms late. Well, we're late for about 1 year..., i hope this is okay.

Anyway, while trying to fill out the AR11 online, I found there's question for "Approximate date of entry in the US" in the "Last entry into the US" section. I'm kind of confused, are they asking the initial entry to the US on K-1 Visa? or the actual latest entry into the US since we just had a vacation trip last month.

Thank you for reading & replying :)

  5. Hi, Everyone. :)

We're now starting to prepare our I-751 form.

We're a little bit confused about the question regarding if my wife has resided at any other address since becoming permanent resident.

We still live in the same apartment complex with the same address, but moved to another unit about 1 year ago.

    Here are my questions:

    1. Should I answer "yes" on the form question and supply an attachment?

    2. If yes, Is there special form that I need to use? or just any letter with the list of address will be fine?

    3. Another question that's not related to this, is sworn affidavit a requirement as evidence of relationship if we have plenty of other documents? If you have submitted your form without it and there's no issue, please let me know. :)

    Thank you for your time.

  6. Anybody who just pass the interview in Jakarta US Counsul?. What did u bring (the complete documents) for interview?. What about Police Certificate? Is it from POLDA or POLRES? All Indonesian documents must be translated into English?. Should we use the Sworn translator pointed by US Counsul?.

    Thanks.

    Hi, Utha.

My wife (was fiancee) passed the interview in January'10.

I have her brought the documents that the embassy listed in the (email).

Also, she brought extra supporting docs for evidence of relationship like emails, photos (post I-129F filing), but they were not asked for.

Police Certificate is not required for Indonesian if the person has been in Indonesia forever :P

There used to be Police Cert requirement, but not anymore. The embassy's email should tell you this thing.

Unless they change the rule again :)

Yes, All indonesian documents (the ones that being requested in the email) must be translated into English, and yes, they suggested that you use the Sworn translators.

    :)

  7. Hello, Nishi.

We're about to mail our AOS paperwork today :), I could tell you that AOS is just about the same as I-129F, I think less paperwork too. It's all about filing forms. :)

I don't think there's anything big that you need to be prepared for except reading this forum about the vaccination supplement requirement for AoS. I think this is somewhat the gray area in the AOS step.

Also, get your fiancee, SSN and ID when it's possible, it'll make life much easier.:) State like CA requires applicant to have his/her I-94 above 60 days to obtain an ID.

Other than that, enjoy and get married within 90 days after your fiance enters the US! :) and Congratulation for your approval :)

  8. Hi, KomangSkye

I am not familiar with I-130 petition since I went with K1 visa route instead.

Assuming the process of I-130 is similar to I-129F, I would say you will be notified by Jakarta Embassy within 1 week after the case being sent from NVC through email. I believe they don't use mail post. I think we both know how terrible Indonesian post office is :P maybe the Embassy knows that too :P

Regarding your question whether to fly there for the interview and wanting to return together, I say it's kind of gamble if you do it that way. If your money is tight, then I would say prepare her to go to the interview by herself. When visa is in hand, then you can plan your trip to return to the US together. That's what I did for my fiancee, I was like you that I wanted to be there with my fiancee for the interview. But I think Indonesia Consulate won't let you stand next to her during the interview. If you're able to wait for another 6 months separation from your wife, that would be fine with your plan to return and picking her up after 6 months.

"Either way i will need to accompany her into the US as she speaks no english and hasn't been on a plane before and it is allways at least 3 flights between my home and her. " => I think she has to fly 3x to Jakarta at least for Medical, Interview, then picking up the Visa.

Regarding Lawyer, You're right, it's not making the process faster. However, they can help in completing the requirements since they do this many times vs you that will do this for the first time. The question is ... is it worthy to fork $2,100 for something that you'll do most of them by yourself? I used lawyer for my petition filing, and it costed me $700 and to this day, I think that's a bit too much for the work that I do it myself most of the time. :(

  9. Hello, Jon& Lita.

For Indonesian Consulate, I think your fiancee will not receive anything from the consulate/embassy. In fact, it was me the US citizen that received notification/ package 3 in form of email.

Did you put email address in your I-129F package? (can't remember the exact form)

When you call the NVC, they should be able to give you the JAK# .

The NVC had our case for like a week before they sent it out to Jakarta.

    Wish you luck :)

  10. Hello, Everyone.

Just brought in my fiancee yesterday :)

Now, we're getting ready for the next step which would be wedding and adjustment of status.

I started reading about the guides and probably missed some information here regarding the I-693.

Hoping you guys can help me out. :)

"I-693, .... If you are a K-1, K-2, K-3 or K-4 visa holder the I-693 instructions state that you are not required to have another medical examination as long as your Form I-485 is filed within one year of your overseas medical examination. Regardless of if you are exempt from a medical exam, you are still required to complete certain portions of the I-693 and have a Civil Surgeon certify the form (and seal it in an evelope). Specifically, you will complete Part 1 (Information about you) of the I-693 and provide both the form and your DS-3025 (if you have it, proving your vaccination history) and any proof of required vaccinations that were completed prior to entering the US. If you do not have a copy of your DS-3025 ....They will then seal the form in an envelope and return it to you. "

    Okay, here are my questions:

    1. My fiancee did her vaccination and medical exam in December, 2009. However, the result / proof of her being vaccinated was not given to her. It was sealed in envelope and forwarded to the Consulate, and it was not returned. So what do I have as a proof to provide the Civil Surgeon that she had completed the vaccination?

    2. I know that we have to get married within 90 days upon her arrival, and we're getting married on March 20, 2010. Is the last day to file for adjustment of status is 90 days from her arrival also?

    Thank you.
