As she currently anyway does not want to permanently reside in the US she should file for a I 407 to abandon officially her status.
If at some time in the future she wishes to immigrate to the US then you can of course refile for her.
Thanks boiler, I came to that conclusion too.

You can't tell people not to respond/post, it goes against VJ's TOS.
Please read my reply before posting. I said please respond if you have useful information. I believe it is a waste of time for everyone to just read repetitive explanations to something that would not benefit anyone. I’m aware of all the facts about the green card. My mother didn’t follow the rules but I bet she is not the first one.

He initially stated he is traveling to the US in February 2019 in his application. They issued the visa on the 18th of August.

She should lose her green card if she doesn’t want to live in the U.S. Green cards are for permanent residents, not for sometime residents. At this point, I would bet her chances of entering are 0% once questioned at POE.
I’m sorry but I didn’t ask for your opinion if she should or should not lose her green card that I sponsored her for. There is no one who is entitled for a green card especially through marriage. I sponsored my mother for a green card and I can responsor her a million times. Please only respond if you have an answer or recent experience. End of the story

Thanks a lot everyone, I’m aware that a green card is for people who permanently live in the US and I’m also aware that she would have a high risk of losing it if not living here. I posted to hear about other people’s experiences. I’m looking for solutions not explanations of what a green card is.

She doesn’t want to live in the US but she is afraid if she voluntarily gives it up she wouldn’t be able to get a tourist visa

Hi there, my brother applied for a tourist visa and got approved. In his application he mentioned he wanted to travel in February 2019, can he travel earlier ( say September 2018) his visa was issued and valid from August 2018.

Thanks for the replies. I’m still not clear on an answer for my question. Can she re enter the US on a green card since it is valid if she proves she had a medical condition for about a year?

I sponsored my mother for a green card and she came to the US on 04/2017 but
decided to leave the US in May 2017. We are wondering if we can reinstate her
green card since she has been away for awhile or if she needs to formally
abandon the green card and apply for a visitor visa. Anyone else with same experience?

Hi all , I have my interview on Nov 23rd and I just wondered about the parking spots nearby , there is a place online which is 20 minutes walking from the AOS building and i can book it for 8 $ from 11 until 3 pm
since my interview is at 12:45 ?
what do you think ?
-
i DONT KNOW , you might not get a ref for a medical . I filled for AOS , my interview is November 23rd , got a ref for other eveidence not medical . you don,t need any medical test since you applied for AOS before one year of your medical test , you need to update you vaccination report , send it to DR Arnold in Texas , they charge 30 $ now . I did so because they might ask for it at the interview . but you better do it too and send it with AOS or if you already sent the papers be ready if they send you a ref or even for the interview BUT YOU HAVE TO HAVE YOU VACCINES UPDATED BY A CIVIL SURGEN AS A K VISA HOLDER

Hi there, does NvC transfer pdf to embassy or hard copy? I’m confused because embassy emailed me saying hard copy. How long does it take?
