  1. Hey everyone was just wondering what packet 3 looks like and what it contains?

And this is also to help with my timeline on here as not sure where each date is for like when the nvc sent it to london when consulate received it and everything.

Because i have received a letter form london saying that they have received my approved petition and it has my lnd number on it, so i don't think as its packet 3 as not really a packet or doesn't say anything like that. But also aware that packet 3 doesn't really come as a packet seeming as its all down loadable now.

So please just give me a heads up on what i guess mainly english people received tho it might be general for everyone.

And then where each date is for my timeline so i can update it please.

Thanks for any help and time

    Hi Leeander and Stacee,

I, the petitioner received the letter indicating that my packet was mailed to the U.S. Embassy. A few days after that we recieved the "Packet 3" which is really only the check off sheet that states that we have all our documents and are ready for schedulling the interview. I faxed over the check off sheet but had not hear anything so I sent it by email and then I recieved an email back that they got it. Then about 2 weeks later she recieved the invitation and the rest of the documents for the interview.

    I hope that this helps.

  2. My visa was APPROVED!!!!! Yaaaaaaay!

    Wow Astrid,

That's great, my girlfriend/fiancee's interview is going to be January 7th, 2009. She has her medical, police cert and all other paperwork done except financial info, which I haven't sent yet. I'm waiting on letter from my bank. But from what I've read my work verification, pay stubs and tax information should be enough.

Your arrival date will be similar to my fiancee's she is planning on leaving Poland on January 27th to come here.

Good luck and congradulations on your visa, at least now the wait is done and the paper trail starts for AOS and the green card.

  3. I'm headed off the Sydney in three days for my interview...my head is spinning! The waiting is nearly over for me and I am almost back with Alex...start thinking happy thoughts!!

    Astrid,

That's neat, we found out that our interview is scheduled on January 7th, 2010 so we won't be together for Christmas. When are you planning to come to L.A.? Where is Alex in L.A.? I'm in Pasadena and that really is part of L.A. but Pasadenaeans don't want to be considered part of the L.A. scene or culture. I'm hoping that whatever documents for my affadivid of support is good enough. I make more than above the poverty level but there have been postings that indcate requiring a lot more documentation than I am sending. I am sending I-134, recent pay checks, a copy of the latest income taxes, letter from my employer documenting, salary, job title, leght of employment and permanent status. I've checked with the embassy website and it only indicates petitioners must provide proof of adequate financial support once in the United States to ensure the applicant will not become public charges. Documentation regarding financial support can be in any form so long as it contains enough detail and information for the consular officer to conclude that the beneficiary will not become a public charge. So I'm hoping that I a sendin enough information to the embassy. What do you think?

Jan. 7? Thats my birthday :)

If all goes well on Tuesday, I will be flying back to LA January 27th. Alex lives in the south east San Fernando Valley, we have an apartment together so it's really home for the both of us.

As for the Affidavit, alex gave me his last state and federal tax returns, a letter from his employer, a letter from his bank, three recent paystubs, copies of his last few bank statements, proof of his stock ownership and car ownership. You should be fine with what you have. Alex had a lot of trouble getting the letter from Chase, it took them nearly three weeks to do a letter that only said he was their customer and how much he currently had deposited.

    Astrid,

Thanks for the info, I think I will try and get a bank letter at this point if it takes 3 weeks I won't be able to get it in time so I hope that it isn't a issue.

I will you the best in Los Angeles. You sound like you know the Valley really good. If you guys live in the East you must be fairly close to Pasadena.

    Well Happy Birthday.

  5. And just a check in with everyone who was a filer at CSC in August - has anyone had their visa approved yet? Or may I be the first one due for approval?

    Astrid,

We received notification that her mom received her packet 3 last week and I faxed her IV/F04 yesterday which will set up getting packet 4 sent to her home. She is here with me in L.A. and we have completed all her forms, 156, 156K and my I-134 affadavid of support. She is flying back on December 6th so I hope that they don't schedule the interview too soon as we don't want her not to be there for it. The plan is for her to get everything done and then get a cheap ticket for me to go over to Poland in late December and for us to fly back sometime early January with the new visa. Do you think it's too ambitious? Maybe we won't get the interview date till January? what do you think?

How soon did you recieve your interview date after you sent in your IV/F04?

  6. anyone call nvc yet?

I just received our NOA2 in the mail yesterday, so do you think it's too early to call????

    Call where??

    NVC

Not too early.. it took almost 6 days from the the actual NOA2 to get my hard copy in the mail, and I didn't get the hard copy of my NOA2 until after it had already been to NVC and sent on to the consulate.

    Jenn,

Thank you for the response, I'm starting to get the paperwork completed for my girlfriend. She's here on a tourist visa and going back to Poland on December 6th, 2009. That way she will be there ready for the interview and perhaps I can visit her in Poland and come back with her.

  7. To add - Just logged onto USCIS tracking, and no touch yet. And, since it's the weekend there now, I am guessing that nothing will happen, if we do get touched, for a few more days. We are moving up Igor's list though! And there are a three NOA1's from around our NOA1 date that have been approved. The VJ timeline page says CSC are processing petitions from July 24. I'm not a religious person at all, but I am PRAYING we get one soon. I can't bear waiting any longer!

    Hey Everybody,

I guess they are processing things quicker, I just looked up the status of our I129 visa and the NOA2 was approved on 10-29-09. I don't have the hard copy yet but it's pobabaly on the way. only 62 days for NOA2 approval, yeah!

Now it's time to get started on the rest of the packets. I hope other couples are seeing approval too.

  8. Hi Alex and Astrid,

Yes I've filled out a time line and looked at the projected date but I am being overly optimistic to see if they approve it (NOA2) earlier. It's really kind of my fault as I didn't finish the paperwork when she first arrived in the U.S. (June) so I'd probably know by then. The thing I didn't want to happen though is finish everything and get an interview date before she returns to Poland (Dec). I just hope that everything works out and there isn't too much separation time before she is able to come back. She was detained in Atlanta when she came and her tourist visa issued by the Warsaw Consulet expired in August. I'm wondering if we should get another visa just to play it save? The flights aren't cheap and we aren't rich so we need to make the most of the flights back and forth to Poland.

Hi, we're joining in. We filed on August 27th. It's good to see another Australia/US couple here. We filed while Alec was out of the country, and he was able to enter the US in September on a visa waiver without any problems going through immigration, with no mention of the I-129F or a fiance. So now we are together while we wait. Good luck to everyone. I'll be checking all the timelines...

    Alec and Tiff,

My NOA 1 date is also August 27th, 2009 I'm wondering if I will be receiving our NOA 2 soon. My girlfriend/fiancee is now here on a tourist visa till December 6th and then she returns to Poland. I'm hoping that when we receive it and send everything back, that by the time she returns to Poland in December that it will almost be time for her interview. And then come visit and spend Christmas with her family and then return with her visa to US together.

I saw someone on this forum with a NOA1- NOA2 date total of 54 days form VSC.

    Bernie

Have you filled in your timeline on this site? It can give you a projected approval window. For example, my NOA1 date is August 5, three and a bit weeks before yours. My approval window is between October 30 and November 10, a few weeks away. So, your window is most likely going to be toward the end of November and the start of December. The reason VSC is getting such fast approvals is their adjudicators almost all got switched over the K1 petitions to get rid of the backlog. No such luck at CSC, though.

YoU never know though, your petition may randomly get picked up by an adjudicator. Think happy thoughts!

  10. Hi Casey,

My girlfriend had come to US before (I didn't know her then) and she filed for a time extension for pleasure and being a tourist, the extension it was denied so to make a long story short she had to leave right away because her original I-94 was past the due date.

Fast forward to to the time we met and she told me horror stories about how the INS inspectors at the airports can make a tourist visit a nightmare and that she was worried when we decided for her to come to the US. I didn't believer her but sure enough she flew into Atanta on June 22, 2009 and ended up detained for basically no reason at all. The agent told her something about that they needed to inspect her luggage and didn't give her any other information. Her connecting flight time to L.A. was only about an hour. Well she missed it, they finally let her leave and the only reason I think that they didn't turn her away is because she got cute with a male agent, she pretty. It was a female agent that detained her and I don't think it was for any reason that they needed to do so. The only thing I can think of is that the denied extension request is stuck in her passport information. A friend later told me is that she should just get a new passport with a new number that is not connected to the old number with a new visa.

I just filed the I-129 and was hoping that the time she is her coicides with the time her visa comes through but I think it will take more than the 180 days that she is allowed to stay on the tourist visa so we will be waiting until she get her visa before we can see each other again.

    Good luck,

    Bernie

    Hi all,

Thankfully after 2 1/2 months of separation, my fiancée will be here on Friday! She is flying into Atlanta from Sweden with a connecting flight in London. She will be staying till November 2nd, so it will be approximately two and 1/2 months in the States.

We have a round trip ticket purchased and she is going to have that in hand when she goes through customs so they will know she is leaving before the 3 month period.

My question is, should she have any other documenting evidence for her to show when she arrives at the POE? I have heard some horror stories of people being denied entry and I would really hate for this to happen to us.

As always, I appreciate all the information I receive from this forum and best of luck to everyone in this process.

    Casey och Linnéa
