I totally agree with Christi and Ian, you need time to heal and taking the job is a good start because it involve making other decisions that involve just you. It will also give something else to think about for the time being besides your present situation and perhaps the job will give you some hope that things can be normal again. I wish you all the best and hope things look brighter the next time you look out the window that has become your life.
I am so sorry to hear this, I can only imagine how much your heart hurts right now. There are a lot of stories of marriages that have survived infidelity, and they have a few things in common; the one who cheated accepts responsibility for their actions, the one who cheated accepts that their partner is going to be extremely hurt and mistrustful for a while, and they understand and accept the consequences of that, and they talk about what they are missing in their marriage and take steps to remedy that.
For you, this is happening right now, in real time. For her, this happened a while ago. She may not understand that to you it feels like she is cheating on you right now, when she thinks it's over, it's no longer happening, problem solved. It doesn't bode weel that rather than taking all of the responsibility, she chose to blame you for not being sweet enough to her during your separation. She is being defensive, and trying to push some of the blame on you so that she doesn't have to feel as guilty. Her reaction is immature.
That said, you have an enormous investment in her, and she really is so lucky to have someone who loves her so much. You are not going to get over this soon. You might never get ove it. Only time will tell. I agree with The Maven in that you should not make any rash decisions. You need time to heal a bit before you can even discuss her infidelity with a bit less emotion, it could take a week, a month, or longer. When you come to that point, then talk to her. If she still tries to push off the blame, then perhaps counseling is in order, depending on how invested you both are in staying together.
Is she regretful? Is she tearful? Does she want to resolve this as much as you do, or is she quick to say, "I'm going to spend the night somewhere else"?
Only time will heal the wounds, unfortunately, and the deeper the wound, the more time it takes to heal. My suggestion is to take the job offer, move out if you must, even if it's just into a guest room, and work on the friendship, respect and love you felt for each other at the beginning. If it works out, you two can survive anything. If it doesn't, you will be in a much better place emotionally and financially to make the decision about where you want to be.
I really, honestly hope it all works out for you. She is so lucky to have someone that loves her so much. The key will be whether or not she realizes just how lucky she is, and is willing to do the work necessary to repair the damage done.

feeling depressed with my life.. i have a wonderful husband and loving family. but i need to help my hubby with the finances cause we're not doing good at that part lately. no ead yet. im a newly registered nurse but jobs for new nurses in los angeles area dont hire new nurses. this is terrible. i havent started applying for jobs yet coz im not sure if that's okay, yet seeing this awful situation of nurses in CA takes away that little hope i have with me. i need a job to help myself gain confidence and as we;ll as to earn money. I dont know what to do.

thanks)recently they change the manager at my apartment and this person, she kind of pain in the @55 lol
anyhow i never had any problem about my mom staying with me for vacation for atleast (about) 6 months. she's from canada. now my landlord wants to add her to my lease agreement. but to add her she needs to have SSS# to do a criminal background check.
my question is....is it possible for her to apply for SSS#?

Thanks for the great advice I appreciate it. Your right when you said that I should try it out first. I currently have 30 years of service with a governmental agency and intend to stay at least 5 years more to bolster my retirement funds to approximately 80% of my present salary. I will just leave the service and not take retirement till I am 65 which means the amount I will receive will be more than if I retire out right. I'm planning to work (somehow) during the five years till I am 65. I'd like to think during this time we could stay in Poland 6 months to a year and see how it goes. What do you think, I've be trying to learn Polish but you already know how hard that is to do. Also she would have to get her citizenship before we leave so if we decide to come back we can.
One of my main reasons for moving to Europe is that is so different, different cultures, people food and everything else in a short distance. I also figure I can spend a long time traveling and discovering Europe better over there as opposed to staying here and going over to visit. Flight travel isn't going to get any cheaper in time so that is another consideration. i also I could always come back too. Well there you have it don't know if it will work but I'd like to give it a try.
We discussed that I moved to Europe (I'm the USC), either Poland or elsewhere, France, Spain and UK were in consideration as I would have a much easier way to settle there. After discussion, it seemed best that she moved to the US. At the time, a couple of years back, the financial and job situation in Europe was not as good and 'starting over' didn't seem a good idea. I had even investigated going to work in Poland with a US company (IT consulting); but for our case, the numbers just didn't work.
Now, her home in Warsaw was/is a small flat which she thought would not be the best for me; I had lived in Europe before myself, in a small flat (Sweden), so I was not really worried about living space; additionally I have lived in several countries, some less developed and was not worried at all.
Learning Polish was also a consideration, note that I speak Swedish, French, Spanish and German and even with that, it just didn't look like such a good idea.
If you have never lived in Europe (or outside the US) for a length of time, I'd say that you need to give it a try for at least couple of months before settling. You would be surprised how the little things you are used to in the US become a major annoyance.
Most importantly, newly married is already a stress, I mean, adapting to each other to add the stress of a new country, job, finances, etc. I was raised with a European family and even with that, we thought it would be best to settle in the US at least for the first 2-3 years, afterwards, we will discuss again moving to Europe or Latin America.

just a question if any USC's were thinking about moving from the U.S. to Poland or someplace in Europe with your spouse. If so and not Poland where were you thinking of moving. I'm thinking that I'd (with her of course) of moving to Poland for the summer months (her mom has a big house in Sandomierz, Poland) and perhaps buying someplace in Europe for the winter and switch places. My Polish isn't so good and I'm trying to learn it.

My wife didn't have many questions either, she basically walked in brought her stuff and went up to the window for the questions. I think that it took a total of 10 minutes. I think if you have plenty of documentation and other information it's easy. There are not many U.S. - Polish partnerships that go through the embassy so I would assume that they wouldn't think fraud and just want to process the visa. Good luck, I know that she will do fine.
I know there's a few Polish couples on here that went through this process, what questions should we expect from the interviewer? I remember seeing one of you say there were only about 3 questions, and it seemed as if heir decision was already made before the interview even started. Can't find who wrote this, so i figured I'd ask.

From what I have read about a Q1 visa, it is part of a cultural exchange program by an employer. I would assume that there would be the process to change from one visa type to another type. I'm guessing it would have to be a fiance visa (K-1visa) because you are not yet married. That type of visa is done outside of the U.S. I imagine it will have be after she has completed the requirements of her Q1 visa which is 15 months and returns to her country, she has to wait a year before applying for another Q1 visa but I think you could apply for, K-1 visa after she leaves. Someone might have more information.
I have a girlfriend who is working for Disney on a Q1 visa until October. I just proposed to her and now we want to stay in the US after she finishes her job with Disney. How would she go about changing the status of her Q1 visa? What kind of visa would she change it to?

A time line would help answer your questions, but if it's been 2 years since you filed then that is too long. Have you checked the status of your case on USCIS website? That would be where you would start. We applied for ROC, (removal of conditions) back in May and still haven't heard anything but people who applied in the same time period before us are being approved. For us I guess it could be any day now.
i filed 1-751 to remove conditions in february 2011 at the california service center. i got a I-551 stamp in my passport because i wanted to travel this december 2012. My question is why is there too much delay in processing my 10 year green card its going to be 2 years now. i thought removal of conditions on 2 year green card took only 6 months. Is any body experiencing such long delays in processing their I-751 please help

Did you receive any notification either by email or by telephone when your status changed? I checked today and the USCIS website still says "Initial Review"
I guess we will up in the next round in a couple of day seeing how people are now getting approved.

I received the actual approval letter in the mail yesterday, and it's dated 11/21/2012 so i'm fixing the date in the list below.

When my wife had her interview in Warsaw she didn't have any problems and I wasn't there with her at the time. You don't have to go if you don't want to. I'm sure she would like the support and the company but it's not necessary. Where is from in Poland? My wife is there right now and and will be coming back on Monday Nov 5th. I got back in October, it was really nice but it's getting cold there now. We live in CA and the change in temperature is drastic. My wife won't believe how warm it has been while she has been away. Good luck on her interview, I'm sure she won't have any problems.

Wow, i's been a long time, I haven't heard anything and check the USCIS website and it says that is being reviewed. My wife and I went to Poland in September and we traveled to several countries, Crpatia. Montenegro, Serbia, Hungry, Albania and a couple of other countries and didn't get hassled once except when I came back through at Philadelphia. Shes still in Poland and coming back in two days with an expired GC I'm wondering if she will have problems. She has her extension letter but that doesn't mean she won't have trouble. I'm wondering when we will get her new GC?
Yes, it'll be what it'll be. I had an update/touch on my file on Sept 26th...prior to that it was only at the submisison of the biometrics in June...so something happened. Best to chill and wait....

Yes, that is why I said "directly via the US embassy".
A job on base in a shop or similar is not going to get you a work visa. Not sure what you mean on prices for the lottery- entering the greencard lottery is free, though there are visa fees to pay if you win, as there would be for any other visa you apply for.

What exactly do you want to do?
If you have become a German citizen since you've been living there so long, you can visit your boyfriend in the USA on the visa waiver program for up to 90 days- you cannot work. If you are a citizen of Kazakhstan, you'd need to apply for a B2 tourist visa, pay the fee, and go to an interview at the US embassy in Frankfurt- whole process takes a few weeks. You'd need to show ties to Germany and why you will return. On the tourist visa, you can stay for up to 6 months but again, cannot work.
If you need/ want to work and stay long term in the USA, you could get married to your sweetheart now, then he can apply for a CR-1 spousal visa for you directly via the US embassy, and it may be done by the end of December. On this visa, when you enter the USA you get a grenecard and can work and travel immediately.

What is upsetting is the format in which you are replying. If it was your intent to want people ot understand what you are talking about , you should quote the information or responsed regarding your subject response. I for one have not seen your previous posts nor the responses and do do not know what situation you are talking about. Visa Journey is a free, open website and a resource where people can converse about this immigration journies and get information and help on lots of issues relating to immigration. So when you post something on a forum or board you can expect to get answers and or comments to your posts. Some of them you must screen and rate the value of the information that has been given. And some posts might be derogitory or not what you really want to hear. There are lot's of reasons the resposes might not be helpful. But for the most part I personally find this site to be very helpful, thougthful, understanding well run, probably one of the best resources on the web that could help someone understand their process to a journey to the US and all that is encountered during that journey. I count the members here as my friends, my family and welcome their advice, outlooks and life stories in order to help fulfill my existance and make life more meaningful. That being said, I think it is up to wvery individual to be intelligent enough to know which responses that are given will help you, and consider all the information that is given before taking any possible action. You are ulitmately responsibe for your own destination and the route your jouney takes you, cafefully consider all input and make the correct choices based on your situation. We are only people and people make mistakes, I consider myslef lucky to have a bunch of people on this site you truly care and want the best for everyone.
I hope that you understand and take the good with the bad and carefully consider information from the responses that are given, good luck on your journey and I hope you continue to find Visa Journey a source of inspriation and a resource to help you arrive to your destination.

I can see where you are coming from, for me I dream of one day up-rooting my totally American self and take my European wife back to to stay forever. Hopefully just traveling along Europe and enjoy the hundreds of cultures, languages, food and sites over there. I'm not saying the US is bad.....plenty to see here just that to be able to drive or travel short distances and have people with totally diffference outlook, languages food and everything else facinates me to no end. And to realize that the ability to travel without a car possible all over would be fun.

Thanks everyone! Yes we planned on trying to go back to England if it came down to that. My deportation case was closed at my master hearing. I am extremely happy today, even with an extremely grumpy little girl!

I've been perusing several threads in this forum since finding out I was 'selected further processing' in the DV 2013 lottery and thought I'd start a thread specifically for DV 2013 winners from Oz. There's lots of invaluable information on this site related to various visa processes and experiences, but I think there's always room for more info, so please feel free to share your experiences on your journey to get the elusive greencard for the upcoming US fiscal year.
About me: I'm a Melbourne girl who's had a fascination with the USA since my first visit to California when I was 16. Since then, I've been lucky enough to travel there numerous times, even living there twice on temporary visas. I've entered the greencard lottery so many times I've lost count (on-and-off since 2000) and was pretty much in shock when I logged in to check my application status on the morning of May 2, 2012 and saw a notification letter instead of the familiar 'based on the information you have entered, your entry has not been selected for further processing'... What?! I won?!! Honestly, I think I'm still in shock. Since then I've been scouring the internet trying to absorb as much information as possible on the what/when/how of organising my application.
Are there any other Australian DV 2013 winners out there? How is your application going? Are you overwhelmed yet (or is that just me)?

I don't think that you will get an interview, it happens very seldom. We went through the process and smooth as butter. I think that all you will have to do is just wait......and wait, eventually if you have filed everything correctly you should be okay.
