Sent our package today. GC expires Sep 11th and since the package is scheduled to be there on 06/15..i think we are good.
Now the waiting begins.

[i added a ultrasound pic and maternity pic too. I'm hoping that will help soften the officer...unless they are baby haters.
LOL.....or if they can't have any.

Hi there~I think we were around the same time when we got our green card two years ago~~
I posted my documents for review and hopefully I would be able to send everything out tomorrow...
Yeah i remember you. I see you have already sent in your paperwork.
We are sending ours next week.
Good luck.
-
Actually June 13th is the date we are actually thinking about since my card expires 09/11.
I don't blame you on the paranoia...I have been stalking the ROC boards since last month.
Good luck.

Hey VJs,
It’s time for the paperwork....Again.
I can't believe it’s been almost 2years already.
We plan to send ours mid this month. Looking at the timelines for the previous month filers, it looks like
if you are sending to VSC, including moi,...you are up for a long wait.

Nice step and step guide. I am gonna need it soon.

I was so shocked when i opened the door this morning to go to work. It was all white and it was so exciting to see.
My husband had to drive me to work coz i was scared of crashing into anyone on the road...lol.

I say talk with an immigration lawyer and not just any kind, a good one. If its possible to get in touch with her ex husband, he can write out a statement explaining why their marriage was short lived or why they didn't have any joint documentation. Good Luck.

You say she overstayed her tourist visa and got married to USC#1, he left her after 2 weeks and she never heard from him. How long did she know this guy?

Hi all,
I'm sure I'm not the only one who has been through this, but I need some advice and that's why I post today. I moved to the USA very in love, with so many good expectations and illusions, thinking it would be time for me to build my family with the man I loved.
We're good friends now, but we got divorced this year. After a lot of pain and a long process, we are divorced. We were married for less than 3 years.
I have tried a lot of things in order to continue my life here. College (couldn't afford it), jobs (couldn't keep them for different reasons)... I also had another relationship, a short one, it didn't work. So I feel like I've been pushing and pushing a situation that is definitely not working for me. I don't belong here. I miss my family, my friends, my country (in spite of all the problems there). What the heck am I doing here?
I live alone, in a small studio with my doggy Frida. I told my father today that I want to go back, I cannot deal with this anymore. I know life is tough for everybody, but I cannot let it go to the point that I prefer I was dead. I'm depressed, I don't feel like getting up, I don't know a lot of people, I've gained weight... I could complain all day. However, I have health (thank God), I'm young and I really want to save my life and stablish myself somewhere. But not here.
I don't know what to do with my things (bed, sofa, dressers, dining set, pots & pans, china, silverware, books) in order to move. I'm scared of having to do all this by myself. Anyone has any idea of what would work to get rid of all the things that cannot come with me?
I'm sorry about the venting. I know there are people with much worse problems, but this is what I'm living right now. I cannot take it anymore. Loneliness is killing me.
Thank you for letting me share my feelings.
Cami.
Sorry to hear that. You can take pics of your stuff and make postings on craigslist, facebook etc. You can also do a garage sale on the weekend,
im sure people are willing to pay some money if the stuff is in good condition. The stuff that doesn't get sold can as well be given to goodwill.

This might seem a daft question - but has anyone experienced any issues with flights post-marriage but pre-AOS? (I'm thinking for the honeymoon specifically). Will there be some scrutiny at security?
We were considering Florida for a honeymoon, but as we'll be living in NH it's one heck of a drive down
If you are traveling within the US all you need is your passport but also take your marriage certificate just in case.

Usually they send you a letter requesting for more info if the petitioner does not meet the 125% poverty line. Are you sure you did not receive it?
Don't rush into moving yet before you check out all your options. Also, you can seek advise from a good immigration lawyer ASAP.

My degree is in Electrical Engineering and I actually graduated top of my class...not the whole school but my EE class.
I can PM my resume to anyone who may be willing to help
This is great especially for a woman! Engineering is definitely hard. I wish I can help you, but, I'm not someone from HR. I'd say you fit the minority policy for hiring though being a woman, and your academics.
If you are at the top of your class in the college of engineering, then, I don't see why you don't get first dibs on job opportunity.
I think my biggest mistake was not making use of my senior year because I was very undecided on what i wanted. Everyone, including my professors and parents wanted me to go to grad school. It wasn't until mid August that i realized that I didn't really want grad school at the time and that's when i started applying for full time jobs

Yeah im going for a conference/job fair for women engineers tomorrow. I tried temp/contract and they said they require you to have
experience for that specific job which i don't have.
I feel better today. Im learning to first appreciate the little i have now before something better comes along.

i think loving your job is a myth. only doctors on tv do that.
I think the trick is to find a balance between loving the paycheck and the job.

I graduated in May '09 in engineering, and it took me about 3 months after graduation to land a job... That was almost a year of job hunting because I too started looking in my senior year. The students in our previous graduating class already had jobs lined up before they graduated, but this year only a handful of us have landed a job so far. Career Builder & Monster did not help me any because most engineering companies hire internally, and they just advertise the job because it is required by the law.
If you have experience in O&G, check out these website:
Hope this helps!
Thanks, the Oil Grads one was helpful. So how did you get your first job
