Hi everyone,

I received a letter that had a bar code with the case number for my parents with a list of financial and supporting documents that i need to provide to NVC after paying the fees online.

I have all the documents that i need to provide but i lost the cover letter and i believe it says do not submit the documents without the cover letter.

Any ideas on what my options are?

Hello everyone,

I am working on my parents application and i paid the AOS fee - $120 for each one of them in the first week of June but the IVF fee still says $0.

Does anyone know how long it takes before that shows up? The instructions say i am supposed to pay all the fees online before i mail in my supporting documents but since it has been almost 2 months, can i just mail in my supporting documents while i wait for this IVF fee to become available for me to pay.

Also do i need to pay this IVF fee first before i can complete the DS-260 IV application online?

I am in the process of bringing my parents to the US and i paid the AOS fee, $120 x 2.

I am in the process of sending in my financial documents but i also see another fee, it says IV application fee. Right now it says $0.00 and the AOS fee says PAID.

What is this IV application fee and how much will it be? I also see the IV application, will i have to fill that in online?

I am planning on sending in the I-864 form with my financial documents via mail.

Yah yah yah, too many fees for this process. One after the other.

Ok, I am glad i asked then.

I am at the point where i have to pay a $120 online fee and send in more documents and under 'financial documents', all they say is 'Affidavit of Support'. They are not really clear if I-864 or I-134.

I am filing in the affidavit of support for my parents, for I-134 and i am not sure what to put on qn. 11. It says

"I intend, do not intend to make specific contributions to the support of the persons named in item 3".

My parents intend to live with me when they come here, what should i put for this qn then?

So my dad is actually married to my step mother and they do have a marriage certificate but they are not divorced.

So for my father, marital status do i put married to my step mother?

For my mother i will put single because they are not legally married.

My father will be coming with my birth mother.

Im getting more confused the more i think about this because my father is still legally married to my stepmother.

I am a US citizen and would like to file for both my parents however, my parents were never married so they do not have a marriage certificate.

Both their names exist on my birth certificate. How do i go about this?

is there a reason why you want to your birth place passport rather than US one?

I want to have them both and i am wondering if the Ugandan one will continue to be valid if i get a US one.

As in can i still use my Ugandan passport for travel to Uganda and use the US passport for travel back to the US?

Anyway,my interview was today at 7,,45 AM.Everything went as hoped and hubby and i were in and out in less than expected.

Interviewer said it might take three weeks to two months for oath letter.I hope it takes less than that time.

I had my interview today and i passed...yay!

these are the questions i remember being asked

1 - How many judges are on the supreme court

2 - We select a senator for how many years

3 - In case the president and vice president can no longer serve, who becomes president

4 - Name one branch of the government

5 - What does the president's cabinet do

6 - What do we show loyalty to when we say the pledge of Allegiance

Speaking portion i read "When is Columbus day'

Writing portion i wrote "Columbus day is in October"

She then verified all my personal information and updated my travel info from my passport.

Since i had selected the option of changing my name, she changed it right away and said i didn't have to go through the court since i was only taking up my husband's name as the new last name.

I had to wait about 20min to get the Oath letter which is scheduled for October 10th.

Hello fellow vj members,

I really need your help. I was supposed to have my N 400 interview in June 7 2012,. They had it rescheduled to August 21.

I been waiting for the letter for the oath taking schedule.It's almost a month now after i had my interview and still did not receive any letter with regards to my oath taking.

I had a name change. All my legal documents are Maria Juana Smith and during the interview the IO said i can not use Juana as my middle name which is what i use in all my documents,cards ,etc.

ANyway to make the story short the IO said i have to have the name change which i did and did not know if it really matters or not to change my name if i wanna still use JUana as my middle name.

Anyway they gave me a paper for a name change and until now i don't know When and When and how long is it gonna be before i can be sworn in. any idea or estimate maybe how many months i should be waiting still?

Is there any way i canbe sworn in by someone or whatver way? Thanks

It takes at least a month to do the oath if you are changing your name, it could be longer depending on your local office.

But why would they refuse your middle name? I thought you could use any name you wanted?
