MagicJack needs a USB hub with it's own power source to be more effective. That, and a broadband Internet connection, and lots of memory.

You should get the kind of power adapter that allows you to adjust the voltage input. Having the powered USB hub helped tremendously. If you just use an ordinary USB hub (that comes on your PC, usually at the back), depending on how often you use it, the hub burns out very quickly.

I used MagicJack to call NVC while I was still in the Philippines and it was working fine. To call a US number you have to press the country code, area code then the phone number. If you are still having problems with dropped calls, I strongly suggest you buy a powered USB hub. They are usually purchased without the power adapter, but you can easily buy that at any ACE hardware or similar store
