did everything ourselves - from k1 to roc. no need for an attorney... but then, again, our case was pretty simple and straightforward.

We had the same situation. What we did was wait until we had access to the new house (in your case, you already do) and then do a change of address online. After which, we used the new address in everything - filling up the forms, etc. This way, all the communications and letters from USCIS will be sent to the new house. It's simpler that way.

I just received an e-mail saying my application has been approved and card production has been ordered!
I would update the list as soon as I have received my card. Somehow, I still can't believe that the waiting is almost over - NO RFE, NO interview!

Angel, did you have to call USCIS or the local service center if you can do your early biometrics or you just popped in over there with you bio letter?
My biometrics appointment was scheduled the day I went to the USCIS office. For some reason, I got a really early appointment.
It's probably because our local office is not handling as much as others are. But I did saw from this thread that people are able to do early biometrics and they just brought the letter with them. I think Bob4Anna (or is it Anna 4 Bob) was doing an early biometrics so maybe they can give more information.

Had my biometrics taken today. It was a really quick one, took us less than 20 minutes in there. Now for more waiting... hopefully no RFE's nor interviews but then we'll just cross the bridge when we get there as they say.

We were thinking of the same thing - have an "undocumented" ceremony in the Philippines before flying to the US. But our Church Pastor (who is also a close family friend) advised against it because it is lying. He said whether you file the papers or not at the time of the wedding, you would still be married because there is such a thing as late registration of marriage.
Also in the Philippines, the Catholic church mandates that proper papers are filed and certain procedures followed before they would even consider performing the ceremony. So you can't "escape" from filing the marriage certificate.
Do an engagement party if you want to show something to her family and make sure everybody who's attending knows that it is JUST AN ENGAGEMENT PARTY and not a wedding to avoid complications.

Yes, they could make the dress for you in Divisoria or Baclaran because my friend's wedding gown as well as the entourage's dresses were sewn in a shop in Divisoria. You just have to shop around and try if you can get some feedback from their previous customers so you can be assured of good quality at a good price.

I got mine in the Philippines too but I got one from the mall. It's a simple one as we were just doing a small wedding ceremony here in the US. The gown cost me only a few thousand pesos whereas if I got the same style here, it would have costed more.
In what part of the Philippines are you from?

Yes, I know that NOA1 is the time they send out their acknowledgement notice. But I was just curious is to how they got NOA1 a day after.
I wish they issue out NOA1 too really soon.

They sent it through overnight mail. This type is expensive and the fee starts at $18. Starcookie panicked because their GC is gonna be expiring soon so they opted for overnight mail. I did this too during my AOS because I did not have enough time but that's another story.

My husband filed in April in Vermont Service Center, and like the rest of you, has not yet received his new green card. We are currently in the process of buying a house and we close next week. I suddenly started freaking out about this affecting our ability to close. Has anyone shown their foreign passport + expired green card + extension letter for something as big as this without a problem? Or does anyone have any experience/advice they can share? Thanks in advance.
We just bought a house last month and we were in a similar position because my GC was expiring this month and we haven't even applied yet for ROC at the time of closing because we were wanting to include the "house papers" as evidence. Anyway, one problem we encountered was that I don't have a Credit Score because in my 2 years here, I never wanted to get a credit card or any loan of that sorts, so I have no credit history. However, my husband and I talked to our mortgage broker and she found a way to still put me in the loan and deed of the house by putting my husband as the Primary Borrower and me as a Co-Borrower. So most of the financial requirements are based on my husband's ability to pay, Credit Score/History and others. I have to submit documents too but they are just to satisfy documentary requirements. That said, I think that the best person to consult about this is your mortgage broker or bank representative because they can actually find ways to help you. Just tell them the situation (like we did about my immigration status) and they would surely find a way to help you with the loan and closing.

Yes, that's correct. And it's understandable that you would want things to be very clear. After, they have received your application, they will send you a letter (Notice of Action) saying that your wife's conditional status is "extended for 1 year" while the ROC is in process but of course, this letter will be superseded by the 10-yr GC once you are approved.

Thank you for the link. I thought I was told that we had to wait to apply for the ROC when we had 9 months left before the expiration but no later then 90 day before the expiration. Everything I read on the link said to wait until there was 90 days left before the expiration. Am I reading this worng? I also noticed that it said you MUST file 90 days before the expiration. Also has anyone here not been able to provide a mortgage with both names on it. I would have had to refinance my house to make that happen and that is just not possiable. Getting all the other documents will not be an issue though.

That's what I thought too at first that you have to file before the 90 days until I read (and re-read) the instructions and had my husband read it too. You can file anytime WITHIN the 90 days prior to the expiration of the GC and like Cacerez, I received a letter of reminder from USCIS regarding dates that I could the file the ROC.
I am not sure about the mortgage not having both of your names or even a lease but I guess an explanation letter could be included in your application regarding the situation. And as this type of document is to show that you are living together, you can add Driver's License or State IDs that show that you and your wife are in the same address or any other official documents that can show you live in the same address.

I've been tracking my package and it's still nearby yet it says expected delivery is today. Hmm, we'll see! As weird as it sounds, I just want them to cash my check!
I was tracking mine too and it was saying it was still in the postal office I sent it from on the day it was supposed to be delivered and the status only changed in the afternoon when the package is already delivered. I guess, they don't update the status until the package reaches the destination.

Thank you for listing this information. We have been away from Visa Journey for some time and now it is time for us to also file for the removal of conditions. I looked that the USCIS site and it did not say anything about sending proof but I was thinking that would be very strange as they want proof if you "pass gas". As with your question I am looking for some kind of confrmation on this list and maybe a "sample" of the affidavits. Not sure I can come up with the lease with both our names on it, I rent my house from the bank (mortage). We do have some photos of us together with friends and such but I am sure we can get some new ones before we send it off.
Any other advice on this part of the process would be helpful.

Copy of pages of passport is not needed. But if the biographical page of the passport shows a change in her last name (if she took your surname), then you might want to include a copy of that page only and this could be considered as a minor evidence.
