  1. Our case was put in AP process the day after the interview. I heard this is normal according to the enbassy? Has anyone in Bogota embassy went threw Ap and what seems to be the average time of this?

    Does anyone know if they call you in for a second interview also?

    Hi;

    We were also placed on AP the day of our interview (July 9th). Our AP lasted exactly 30 days. We then had to place a new form with USCIS here in the States which was recently approved. From what I've read, it can take anywhere from 30 days up to 90 days and in unfortunate cases longer.

    My advise to you is to contact the US Embassy via e-mail once a week to get a status on your AP. Their e-mail address is IVBogota@state.gov

    Good Luck

  2. Hey everyone. I feel so down right now. My husband had his appointment at the Jerusalem consulate and i went with him. We thought this was it... but NO. The officer who interviewed my husband asked him for pictures of our wedding.... my husband told him we have a few pictures in our phones that he can look at, and also he told him i have 3 pictures in my wallet. they did NOT inform us in the appointment letter that we needed to have proof of wedding pictures. So he did not get his visa, they gave him a paper saying they need further proof of our relationship, and they said I need to have proof of dominicle in the USA... i guess because i have been in Palestine for 1 yr now ??? what am i supposed to do? does that mean i have to LEAVE Palestine before my husband can get his visa? i am so sad and stressed, i do not want to leave without him. cant i just have proof of bank accounts and mail i get in the USA? can anyone help me and advise me what to do ??? please, any thoughts / tips are greatly needed !!!! i am so sad right now! the only good thing is that once we have the proof and pictures, we send it in automex (sort of like fed x) and that we don't have to go back because its really a hassle crying.gif

    !!! HEART BROKEN AND OUT OF HOPE !!!!

    it says we were not approved at this time under section 221 g....administrative processing. how long will it take now ?!

    Your in Administrative Processing Now. It could take anywhere from 30 days (as it did with us) all the way up to a year or so. Sorry to be the bearrer of bad news. You really should have come prepared though. No letter states you should bring proof. You need to read between the lines. The Consul is not going to just hand out visas on a whim. But hey, don't feel bad. We brought all of our proof's and we were still put on AP (but for different reasons).

    Anyhow, there's no sence in beating a dead horse. Your choices are easy, though they may be hard to swallow. Good luck.

  3. Kindly advise me how to prepare Affidavits of sworn as a evidences of a bonafide marriage.

    Should it be on court paper OR simply I can make it on a plane paper and get signature.

    And how many should I submit.

    Thanks

    Hi;

    Here's a copy of the form you need to fill out. As for how many. I included about a dozen. It shouldn't matter how many, but the more the better. Hope this helps

    thank for reply ......can i print it at home on my pc or it should be on court paper??

    Of course you can print it. If you notice, the second page is where you have to have it notarized. Ipaid $50.00 for this form on a legal website and am giving it to everyone here for free so take advantage of this.

    Good luck.

  4. I guess it's been about a month now for my wife. This waiting really sucks but I guess the shock has worn off. She was approved at interview so we were really upset when she did not recieve her visa on the day they told her it would be ready. They said they were still waiting for her fingerprints to come back. That it may take a month or two. I may assume a name check as well is being done, but they never mentioned it. After reading a bunch of these posts and talking to a couple of my friends who merried from outside the US, I have come to realize that AP is normal, even after approval! The embassy in Costa Rica told her everyone goes through it.

    So I am trying to figgure out an estimation on time. Just wondering how long its been, or how long it took, to go through this process from others in Latin America. Wondering if the fact that my wife is a citizen of one country (Colombia), and a resident of another country (Costa Rica, where we're going through), and that she's had a tourist visa to the U.S. is going to cause a further delay.

    Thanks,

    Wayne

    Wayne;

    As far as I know, unless you were specifically told at your interview that your case was being put in AP you shouldn't assume you are. I would definately be concerned if the visa was not given to your wife within a week. Something just doesn't add up though. As far as I know, they wouldn't approve your wife's visa prior to a name and background check including fingerprints. Both of you should make an appointment with the embassy and personally go down there to ask questions.

    Good Luck.

    Fernando

    P.S. We were put on AP the day of the interview and it lasted 30 days.

  6. I checked my email today and my application was finally touched after 2 months. But unfortunately they want more evidence. I sent a bunch the first time, what more could they want. I was looking forward to getting the NOA2, but now this. Not a good day. This happening to anyone else?? It is very frustrating. :wacko:

    My friend, do not despair. This happened to me too. I included a whole bunch of evidence when I filed my I-130 only to have them send back an RFE wanting more evidence. I put an INCREDIBLE package together. I'm including some pictures so you can see. I sent them;

    Copy of our mariage licence (again)

    Copy of my son's birth certificate (again)

    Copy of my pasport showing my monthly visits to my wifes country

    Affidavits for Bonafide Mariage (again)

    Copy of receipt for engagement ring

    copy of receipt for honeymoon hotel

    copy of auto insurance policy

    and photos of our wedding and sons birth.

    You have to wait to see what the RFE states. Then disect it slowly and put your pakage together.

    Good luck.

  7. I submitted the i-130, and for my wife name I placed her first name followed by my last name. I have received the I-797c, Notice of Action. My concern is that her colombian passport and her birth certificate have her maid name not mine. Now for the rest of the forms should I continue to use my last name when referring to my wife. Thanks for the help.

    OK. Did your wife leagaly take your last name when you married? If so, and you can prove it with a copy of your marriage license, then you shouldn't have any problems and you should continue to fill in the rest of your paper work as you did your I-130. But, always make sure to place her maiden name in the appropriate place on any form that requires it.

    Good luck

  8. Pizzadude is right on the mark. What you have submitted is now part of the file. You will need to obtain the document from the source. Depending on the type of document it may need to be a certified or official copy.

    What did your blue/white slip ask for?

    Well....If you think "pizza boy" is right on the mark..........you would be WRONG!!!!! Not only did I receive a copy of the papers turned into the Embasy the day of our interview, but the Embassy personally contact me via e-mail to advise me that my wife could pick it up any Tuesday after 1:00pm NO APPOINTMENT THROUGH CALL CENTER NEEDED!!

    My wife just got back from the embassy with a copy of everything needed. Thanks for all the encouraging words (sarcasm applied).

  9. I gave them in the interview, but now they request one more step and we need some paper they have in my file in the embassy.

    Please let me know what I have to do???? Thank :crying:

    Not gonna happen more than likely. It is now part of a government file and you don't have access to it anymore. You will more than likely have to go to wherever you got it before, and if that is not possible....your never gonna have it again.

    Sorry to tell you this, but you were WRONG!!!! Not only did I receive a copy of the papers turned into the Embassy the day of our interview, but the Embassy personally contact me via e-mail to advise me that my wife could pick it up any Tuesday after 1:00pm NO APPOINTMENT THROUGH CALL CENTER NEEDED!!

    My wife just got back from the embassy with a copy of everything needed. Try not to be so negative next time "pizza boy". Unless you speak from personal experience, you should try encouraging readers.

  10. I gave them in the interview, but now they request one more step and we need some paper they have in my file in the embassy.

    Please let me know what I have to do???? Thank :crying:

    What papers are you talking about? That is the reason why it's strongly advised to make 2 copies of all original submissions, so that you don't end up in such a situation. :whistle:

    Does it matter what papers? The question is how can I go about getting a copy of something that we turned into the consulate the day of the interview. Any advise?

  11. So yesterday afternoon I receive the following e-mail from the US Embassy in Bogota;

    Thank you for your message.

    We have completed the administrative processing in your case as of this morning. Your wife does not have any ineligibilities. However, before we can issue her visa, she must have an approved I-212 form from USCIS. Please see http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-212.pdf to download this form (the instructions are at http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-212instr.pdf). This form should be filed with the local USCIS office that handled your wife’s departure. Once it is approved, you can bring us a copy, and we will be able to issue your wife’s visa.

    Please contact USCIS directly with any questions regarding this form.

    Sincerely,

    IV Unit

    So my concern is this. In the instructions of the I-212 it states "Attach all correspondence that you have in your possesion relating to your deportation or removal". We turned those papers in to the Embassy the day of our interview and unfortunately, we did not make any copies. The other concern I have is that USCIS didn't handle my wife's departure. ISAP did. I'm not sure where to start first. Any advise?

  12. Have you tried calling the DOS and asking about your status? I think I would!

    We call every week. We also e-mail every week. And every week we get the same reply "We'll let you know when something changes." This is very frustrating to say the least. It's like running the 1/4 mile race and breaking a bone in your foot just 100 feet before the finish line. You can see the finish line, but you just can't get there.

  13. Hello Everyone.

    We have been on AP since the date of our interview on July 9th. The Consul had originally marked the reason for the AP being a missing Police Certificate from Panama where resided for 9 months many years ago. The thing is that the Police Certificate was turned in to the Consul. She even scratched off the marked section of AP for the missing Police Certificate.

    We contacted DOS yesterday who told us to contact the Embassy to find out what information they're requiring. After contacting the Embassy, we were told that they are awaiting information from Panama. I'm going nuts here. Does anyone know who else I can contact to get better answers? I would hate to think that they are waiting for something that they already have in their hands.

    Helpful suggestions are welcomed.

    If you can give them another,, then do it. Better to comply then argue your valid position.

    My two cents,

    We've got another police certificate and we want to give it to them a.s.a.p so as to not delay this ay further, but we're being told that we can't make an appointment to to turn this document in until they call us which god only knows when it will be. It's just stupid to have to wait for them to contact us and ask us for something that we already have in hand!!!

    I just don't know what to do anymore. :angry:

  14. Sounds like they're not missing the police certificate, they're missing information pertaining to what is on the police certificate, which is why they're contacting authorities in Panama. Was the police certificate clear or was there a record of something?

    No record. Everything is clean and clear. You're correct, they aren't missing the police certificate, because as I explained earlier it was turned in to the consul. It's definately not because information pertaining to what is on the police certificate. Not sure what it could be.
