  1. Hi! Can someone please add me to the group timeline? I have another question: what are the steps after you send the package? 1. Send it 2. Check cashed 3. NOA1 and what are the rest? THANK YOU!!

And also... Does the approval/ interview/fingerprints depend on the local field office?

  2. It's easy to say that and normally I'd be there right with ya'; however, my wife's passport expires in March. Obviously we're not going to see approved cards by March and I'm not sure Uzbekistan will accept an expired Permanent Resident card with NOA as proof of status. So if she goes there to renew her passport, she may be stuck indefinately.

I'm not sure what to do at this point. The Uzbek consolate in DC already stated that they can't provide exit visas (Uzbek thing) so I'm pretty sure they won't be able to do anything about her passport state-side.

Anyone know if her Uzbek passport has to be in good standing to file for citizenship next year?

Can't you go with her on a trip to her country so she can have her passport renewed?

  3. Peterjoy and rlogan: I haven't gotten mine either. You can call USCIS and they will let you know what's going on once you have 30 days since your NOA1. I am on a waiting list to get the appointment at the ASC where I live, which makes me super mad cause it's not that big of a town and they work M-F 8am to 4pm and if it only takes a few minutes to do everything, why can't I get it. At USCIS they made a request to CSC and I got an email from them saying that I just will be mailed the appointment. We'll see how that goes. I just hope it's soon cause I want to get over with this.

  4. Hello!! I have a question: Does the Biometrics appointment come from the Service Center or from the ASC? Can you guys believe my NOA1 is dated 8/17 and I still haven't gotten it? I called USCIS and supposedly, my name is on a waiting list to get the appointment. It makes me really mad, cause I live in a not so big of a town and I have to wait for the appointment? But... can someone answer my question? Thanks!!!

Congrats to His Wifey by the way!!

  5. So it's been 3 weeks and I haven't received my Biometrics Appt yet and I called USCIS and I am on a waiting list as of September 6th to get the appointment on the ASC based on my zip code. We live in a not that big of a town and the lady said they are probably out of appointments for the ASC here. I am soooo mad because we live in a small town. Anyway, hopefully I get it soon. I just want to get over with this whole process.
