  1. Hi, it is depends of what kind of illness she has. But I don't think it would be a basis for Visa denial. A delay maybe.

I petitioned my mother last year January 2017. She was sick during the petition. I would like here to come over, so I can take care of her. I can't just go home there and stay there. I have to work. I am the bread winner. So, regarding her illness, 2 doctors diagnosed it as lung cancer but we don't know what stage because my mother does not want to do the biopsy. The nodules are spreading very fast. Fast forward, after the case closed, we received an interview date for January 2018. She did her medical test to find out she had a severe tuberculosis. Doctors even told her that she might not able to come here in the US because of the severity of her illness. She is skin and bone. It was depressing. As a normal procedure she had to undergo 8 months treatment. Thanks to God, the antibiotics they gave her was working for the first month she had started taking it. On the second month of treatment, she stopped coughing and her appetite to eat is back. She gain weight each day. She has to complete the months of treatment and completed it on Sept. 25. So, everything went well. She is cured, passed her visa interview, done with PDOS and booked her ticket to arrived here before thanksgiving. I am sharing this to you, to encourage you, that whatever illness she might have, DON't lost HOPE. Keep your FAITH knowing that God is in control. God bless.

  2. Hi, I wanted to see if anyone in this forum have experienced petitioning their father who left when they were young.

My father left when I was 4 and saw him again when I was 21 years old. He had not sent me any financial support growing up.

He sent me few clothes and pictures when I was in elementary, that's all. I wanted to know if I can petition him. We became close after we see each other.

I mean, we spent time together with my brother. We were close before he left when I was 4. It was a long story why he left and never came back.

I just petitioned my mother and she is awaiting for her visa and would like to petition my father short after my mother will arrive. In addition, my parents are not married. But my father's name is in my birth certificate. Thanks for any reply. Appreciate it.

Hi everyone! Just have couple of questions that has been troubling me for some time. Hopefully i can get answers through here and possibly help not only me but also others in the same situation as mine. 😊

    Heres my situation:

I was married in 2014 in the Philippines with a filipina, i was only still a greencard holder that time (Filipino citizen). Then by 2016 she started to have a change of heart and to make story short, wanted to have her own separate way with another person. In 2017, i was granted my US citizenship. After trying my best to work things out with her, I ended up filing for our divorce here in the US (some people said i didnt really have to but i just want things to be clear and done).

*she still in the philippines and still a filipino citizen.

*i heard about the recognition of divorce in the philippines, but someone told me i dont need to go through that since I am already a USC.

    My questions:

    1. As a current USC, is it possible for me to re-marry someone in the Philippines in the future? (Wanted to get married in a catholic church, if possible)

    2. My ex-wife and I havent spoken to each other for a yr, but from what I heard, she's threathening me to make my life miserable. Is there any possibilities that she can sue me for anything after our divorced? And/or after marrying someone in the Philippines?

    THANKS EVERYONE FOR THE REPLIES!

You have to bring the divorced decree if you want to marry in the Philippines along with other documents and the legal capacity to marry. You have to bring the documents to the LCR when you apply for the marriage license. As far as I know, you are still married in the Philippines even you are a USC. The CEMAR with your ex-wife is still available in the Philippine registry since you got married there. I am not sure of how it will affect with applying the marriage license.

    Hi,

I’m a US citizen and I applied for green card for my Dad who is in the Philippines back in 2016. Everything went well until his medical exam. He failed it due to lung issue, but He is now ok. Since then I have not done anything. Just got caught up with life, work and being a mom. Is there anyway I can request to redo his medical or do we have to start all over again?

What steps should I take from here?

    Thanks in advance!

You should contact the US Embassy in Manila. If your file have been submitted already to the embassy Manila, it must be still there.  Have his passport # and exp.date ready, birthday, etc. My mother had to go a treatment for 8 months and had completed the process. She just passed her interview last week and awaiting for visa.

I am on the process of completing my I864 form but since I do not make enough income to Sponsor my mom to meet the poverty guideline ,  can i consider my fiancee to file a I864a as a household memeber? I  bought  a house last novemeber 2017  and he is been living with me for almost a yr now and we also has a child that born this yr.  or i can just have him file as a joint sponsor instead? He has accepted a new job just last july of this yr and he can meet the proverty guideline of  a 4 household member included him, Plsss help me . I am also new here at vj i just dont really know what to say and ask pls understand.

Hi, you have to file I-864 for yourself eventhough you don't have an enough income since you are the petitioner. On the other hand, along with your AOS documents, your fiance has to submit the  I-864a as a co-sponsor with his recent 3 yrs tax return or IRS transcript, W2, paystub, bank statement, assets, etc.

    Hello everyone

I have a few quick questions regarding the next steps after approval of I-130. Hope someone can help me.

    I filed my parents I-130s on March 18th 2018.

I got the approval around September 4th 2018

I got NVC notifications via email today that is Oct 17, 2018.

I went to the CEAC website and signed in as beneficiary and paid the $120 and $325 Fees.

What I am confused about is how do my parents make me their agent? They don't have access to internet and are not tech savvy. Do I log in as applicant and go through that process - which honestly I did but I could not click on that tab as it would not allow me to.

Also where do I file the AOS form and which one do I file? What documents do I need to provide as supporting material?

Any guidance will be much appreciated.

    Thanks

You can be automatically  the choice of agent. You can give the NVC a call. They can assign you as an agent. Regarding AOS, you need to submit a copy of the AOS form (I-864), 3 years income tax return, W2s, paystub, bank statement, copy of an asset if you have. NVC will send you an email with the list of documents that have to be submitted after your payment for AOS is cleared.

Oh thank god! too many fees.... thank you!!

So i'm sort of confused. They made your mother to do the 3 day examination and still making her wait 2 months even thou her smear was negative?

Yes, she has to wait for the culture test result for 2 months ( to be exact, 8 weeks) even the initial result is negative. If it turns out positive, she has to do the 6 to 9 months treatment at St. Lukes. It is even worse because she has to stay in Manila during the treatment period because she has to go to St. Lukes everday. It is very pain in the $$$$$$$, especially that we don't have any relatives in Manila and I have to rent an apartment or a room for her. :( That's why I am praying that the initial result is negative and also the culture test (after 8 weeks).

Same happened to my parents. My dad has to go to do the spotum test. While my mom got cleared. Is your mom going to wait for your dad to be cleared? Or she will go on with her interview without your dad?

I am sorry to hear about your dad and for the delay.  My mother had her sputum test last Monday until Wednesday.  She has to come back today to get the result and for the pulmonary evaluation.

Praying that the smear is negative even we have to wait for another 2 months for the culture result . But 2 months is much better than waiting for 6 months treatment if turns out positive...

    Good luck and God bless..

So I'm a bit confused. I have been searching online but I cannot seem to find the right answers.

    1. Is there an interview fee?

    2. How much is the green card fee? How do I pay for it and what are the forms?

I just want to make sure my mother have everything she needs. Thanks guys!

    Hi,

I don't think that we have to pay an interview fee other than the IV Fee which we paid online.

On the other hand, we have to pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee (fee for green card) which is $220 once we received the Visa packet from the US Embassy.

    Too much fees.. lol.

Good luck to all of us...

    Hello All,

On September 28, i got am email from NVC saying that i have missed to include my co-sponsor's evidence of citizenship (but i did send it). The letter also stated that i dont have to send it to NVC but to just give it to my mom to show during her interview.

Called NVC and they said this is a Case Complete and to not worry about the letter.

Today, September 30, i got my Mom's Interview letter in the email!

What about at a nursing home or rehab center?? I know a nursing degree is higher than a cna but he will need to get job experience first.

    Even a in-home nursing job

I agree with the above post. Tell him to apply to nursing home to gain experience.

I know this is a January 2017 filer, i supposed to send my mom's i-130 last week of january but i was too busy to do it. I have most possible requirements that needs to be pass. I wonder if anybody can help me with the cover letter of my mom's i-130? Any example? I would really appreciate it. I am as well confuse about the G-325A? And any pictures that needs to be send? I look forward to hear any replies soon :)

    Hi Nate and Riyn,

You don't need to include to G-325A. That's for spousal petition.

I will send you a  copy of the cover letter I sent with my mother's petition after work. (though I am yet approved).

I saved the file on my computer at home.

I included 2 pictures of me and my mother. Some advised, that a copy of remittance would help as well .

    Hello everyone !

This is my first post here, as I just signed up.

Our I-130 was sent on Januray the 30th to the Phoenix Lockbox, due to be delivered today... (And yes, I'm anxiously refreshing the UPS page regularly!).

Looking forward to receiving the first NOA and, most importantly where our case will land.

Fingers crossed ! Let the nerve wracking get started...

And good luck to everyone  :-)

    Pat

    Hi Pat,

Praying for a smooth visa journey to all of us.

Oh I see. Thanks! I've been wondering for the reason why, lol.

Anyways, based on the website for TSC, they are currently taking petitions from July of last year. Is that mean I have to wait 6-7 months before they even start/open my petition case? Is there any other way to make it faster? lol. I just can't wait to get my parents here with me :)

That timeline was "as of Nov 30". There are November filers who had been approved already. There are some who got approved in less than 2 months....Hopefully, we will receive an approval soon.. ?????
